Soulmates
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Warning: Angst
AN: Soulmate AU in which your soulmates last words to you are written  on your wrist
You couldn’t stop staring at the words on your wrist. I love you. It seemed like the universe was trying to play a cruel joke on you. How could those be the last words you will ever hear your soulmate say. You had always been scared of commitment, but now you were absolutely terrified of love.
That was until you met her. She entered your life like a whirlwind of red, and you had no choice but to get swept up in it. The second Clint introduced you to the newest member of the Avengers, you knew you couldn’t escape your fate anymore.
No one had ever left an impression on you like Natasha Romanoff did. The first few weeks, you couldn’t seem to compose yourself around her, sending shifting glances all around the room whenever she would enter, shifting your weight from side to side and picking at your small silver watch.
Natasha being the world-class spy that she is, caught onto your nervousness quite quickly and made it her mission to give you more attention than the other Avengers, simply because she thought it was adorable how easily flustered and nervous you got around her.
Once you started to be more at ease around her, you started to know the red-headed assassin better, seeing sides of her that no one else did, which only made your feelings towards her grow.
After a few months, the two of you got send on a mission in Russia together. Everything went south quickly and the two of you ended up having to hide out in a small cabin in the middle of the forest, snowed in, with no way to get back to America. You spend most nights talking on a small brown leather sofa in front of the fireplace in the living room.
Natasha found a large bottle of vodka hidden away in the tiny corner cupboard in the kitchen, and one night when you both drank too much, one thing lead to another. When you woke up the next morning, Natasha still had her arms wrapped around your naked frame, and after that night the two of you officially started dating.
Now, 3 years later, you were hopelessly in love with her, which is why you were staring at the words on your wrist. You were still laying in bed, feeling Natasha’s hot breath on the back of your neck in a steady rhythm, indicating she was still asleep. All you could think about, was when it would end.
It could end any moment. Whenever she told you she loved you, you couldn’t help but feel your heart drop. Was this it? Was this the end? Is your time together up? All you could do was hope it wasn’t.
Because you were still deep in thought, you didn’t feel Natasha’s arms tightening around your waist, signifying that she was awake. You got snapped out of your thoughts when Nat quickly turned you around so that you were facing her now. You still weren’t used to how she looked in the morning. The messy red hair splayed around her face, her green eyes looking like they could stare into your soul.
She pressed her forehead against yours and pressed you closer towards her.
“Good morning baby, what has gotten you so deep in thought?”
“Good morning Nat. It’s nothing, don’t worry about it, I was just daydreaming a little bit.”
You respond before pecking her lips. Nat slowly slides her hand into your hair and pulls you closer again, giving you another small kiss.
You and Nat get brutally interrupted from your relaxed morning in bed when your phone starts to ring, displaying Steve’s contact information on the screen.
“Just leave it baby, it’s just Steve, he can wait. This is our only day off, and I just want to spend the day relaxing with you.”
Nat tells you while trying to distract you by kissing your neck. You let your phone go to voicemail, but within seconds Steve is calling you again.
You let out a deep sigh and roll out of Natasha’s embrace, sitting on the edge of your bed while answering the phone.
“Y/N. Where are you? I need you and Nat to come to the compound now. There is an emergency and I need the two of you for a mission. I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t necessary. I’ll brief the two of you once you’re here.”
With that Steve hung up, leaving you slightly confused.
“What did he want? Please tell me he didn’t just ask if we could do a mission on our one free day.”
Natasha asked you while rolling her eyes. Slightly annoyed at Steve for ruining your day off.
“I’m sorry Nat, he said it was an emergency and that he would brief us on the mission once we arrive at the compound.”
Natasha sighed while getting out of bed. She knew that this was the life the two of you signed up for, but she was still annoyed that her day with you got ruined. At least you would still be able to spend it together, just not in the way she had planned originally.
After a quick fifteen-minute drive during which Natasha broke multiple speed limits, the two of you arrived at the compound and found Steve for the mission brief.
“Finally. I need the two of you to check on Wanda and Clint. They went to check out an abandoned Hydra base yesterday, but we lost all contact with them, and the last information they gave us was that the base wasn’t as abandoned as we thought, so I need the two of you to retrieve Wanda and Clint and if possible the information they were send to collect.”
You nodded, feeling slightly worried for your two friends and teammates, even though you knew they were perfectly capable of handling themselves.
“The quinjet is waiting for you on the roof, it’s ready to leave when you are.”
Natasha went over the details with Steve once again before she grabbed your hand and the two of you started to make your way to the roof. You knew she was worried about your friends as well, which is why you gave her hand a slight squeeze in an attempt to reassure them.
After a quick flight which seemed to take ages, you landed in the middle of the forest, 10 minutes away from the base so that no one saw the two of you arrive.
Natasha exited the jet first, walking in front of you, leading the way. Once you arrived at the base, it seemed abandoned at first, but with the information Steve gave you, it seemed very likely that there were still Hydra soldiers inside.
Natasha was the first one to find the entrance, and the two of you quickly made your way inside. After having walked around for half an hour, you still hadn’t encountered any Hydra agents and there was no sign of either Wanda or Clint, making you slightly nervous.
After having checked most doors and hallways, you suddenly heard noises coming from one of the rooms. Natasha and you sneaked up to the room, both getting ready to fight, until you clearly heard the voices from the room.
Natasha kicked the door open, catching an arrow right before it hit her in the face two seconds later.
“Is this the thanks we get for coming to save you? If so, I’m never doing it again.”
Natasha jokingly tells a shocked Clint and Wanda. You make your way inside as well, checking both of them for any injuries, and once you realise, they’re both fine, you all decide to get out of the building as soon as possible.
Everything went fine trying to get out of the building, it was almost too easy. You didn’t encounter anyone, and it looked like the base was actually abandoned, which was not the case according to Clint and Wanda.
The second you opened the door to get out of the building, you realised why. A small Hydra army was waiting for you, ready to attack. You all quickly ducked behind the trees, trying to get cover while taking on Hydra soldier after Hydra soldier.
You kept making more miles towards the jet, and at one point you actually thought you were going to make it. You could see Clint and Wanda take on about thirty soldiers, which was the only obstacle between them and the jet.
On your left, Natasha was fighting around 15 soldiers, just like you. You managed to take most of the soldiers down, however, when you quickly glanced at Natasha to see how she was getting on, you noticed one of the soldiers pulling a gun on her while she was fighting three others.
Without giving it a second thought, you launch yourself forward, pushing Natasha out of the way of the multiple bullets that got fired her way.
Natasha quickly takes care of the remaining Hydra agents, before looking your way. You can see the panic in her eyes before you feel the pain. Natasha comes running towards you at the same time your knees give out and you slump forwards, not being able to keep yourself upright any longer, and Natasha catcher you in her arms.
“Y/N! No! Why would you do that you idiot! Stay awake all right, we’re almost at the jet, you’re going to make it.”
You can feel Natasha picking you up, while the world around you is starting to blur and the things that stand out the most are Natasha’s red hair and green eyes, that are starting to tear up, only amplifying the colour.
You could feel your eyes starting to close, the blood loss becoming too much. You vaguely hear Nat shouting towards Clint and Wanda to get the jet ready so that she can try to save you.
“Y/N! Open your eyes baby. Please, open your eyes. Listen to my voice alright. You’re going to make it out. This is not the end. I’m getting you out of here. Just stay awake for me okay? Please baby, please. I need you to stay awake. Don’t leave me please.”
You wanted to respond to her, but you just couldn’t do it. You could hear a ringing in your ears, and you could faintly feel Natasha press her hands on the wounds in your abdomen trying to stop the bleeding.
The ringing in your ears got louder, and Natasha’s voice started to fade. You could feel yourself slipping away and the last thing you heard before everything turned black was Natasha’s voice, filled with fear.
“….. Please baby, please. Don’t leave me. I love you.”

Ignorance
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
The last few weeks, Natasha had become more and more distant from you. She would go on more missions than normal, go out more often and just overall seemed to avoid you.
The two of you had been dating for a few months now, and you were ready to make it official, but lately every single time you would ask her on a date, or tried to speak to her, she would either cancel or come up with an excuse to go away.
Natasha had been on a mission for the last two weeks and was set to return today. You had decided you really needed to speak with her, because the thing the two of you had couldn’t go on like this any longer.
She was set to return any second now, so you decided to wait in her room for her to be sure she wouldn’t walk away.
After having waited for a few minutes, you heard the door open. You looked up and immediately met Natasha’s eyes, the surprise of seeing you evident in her green eyes even though she tried to hide it.
“Hey Y/N, would you mind coming back in a little bit? I could find you later if you want. I just want to shower and go to bed after this mission to be honest.”
Part of you was tempted to comply, but you really needed to speak to her now for your own sanity. You couldn’t go on like this much longer.
“I really need to talk to you Nat. Please. I feel like you’ve been avoiding me lately and I don’t know why. You leave the room every time I enter, and always cancel on our plans. I don’t even know when we last had a civil conversation. So please, just tell me what’s going on”
You sighed in frustration since Natasha’s face wasn’t giving any emotions away and you felt like you might as well have been talking to yourself.
“I don’t know what you mean Y/N. I’ve just had a few missions and every time I wanted to ask you to do something you were on a mission. Maybe you’ve just not been making enough of an effort. Start looking at yourself first before you start blaming me.”
“You left me Nat, not the other way around. You don’t get to turn this on me and make me look like the bad guy here. The last few weeks you made me feel like you hate me. I thought we were going somewhere, but apparently not. You treat the dirt underneath your boots better than you treat me. So why would all of that change now? What gave you the change of heart? If you don’t tell me, I’m out of here, and whatever we had is over.”
You didn’t know if you were more angry or frustrated. Angry because you felt like she had strung you along and frustrated because you felt like you had just let her play you like a puppet.
“Please Y/N wait. You don’t understand. I don’t hate you. I’m just afraid. Afraid that things won’t work out. Afraid that I’ll hurt you. Afraid that you’ll leave me and I’ll end up alone. I never thought I would find someone, let alone someone like you. You look at me like I hung the stars in the sky and no one has ever looked at me like that before. I didn’t think I was worthy of your love so I pushed you away, because you could do so much better than me.”
The pain in her voice was obvious, and it hurt you more than you wanted to admit. You just didn’t know what to do anymore.
“Why didn’t you tell me Nat? I could’ve helped you, reassured you, made you see that you are worth it. I’ve had my eyes on you since the moment I first saw you. There was never a doubt in my mind whether I wanted to date you or not. Trust me, you’re worthy, just please, stop pretending with me and talk to me next time.”
You told her, head hanging down looking at the floor to avoid her eyes, exasperation clear in your voice.
“I’m so sorry Y/N. Trust me, the last thing I wanted to do was hurt you. That was never my intention. I’ve never met someone like you and I’ve never felt these feelings before, which terrified me. Please, give me another chance. I promise I’ll be better. Just please don’t give up on us yet.”
You lifted your head and looked at Nat. Her green eyes glossy with unshed tears, it was obvious to you that she did care about you, she was just terrified of love after the red room. You weren’t ready to give up your relationship with her either, you would just have to reassure her more often.
“I understand Nat, just talk to me next time. I’ve never been in a serious relationship either, and we can just figure it out as we go. Together. But you need to be in. I can’t do this if you keep on shutting me out. Please just promise me that you’ll try to be a little bit more open with me.”
She looked at you, face filled with relief when the realisation that you were not leaving dawned upon her. She wrapped her arms around you and pulled you as close as possible.
“Thank you. Thank you Y/N. I promise, I’m all in, it might take some time, but I’ll do anything not to lose you. I love you. So much. And that terrifies me. But it also makes me feel like I can conquer anything. Thank you for giving me another chance, I promise I won’t mess it up this time.”
You pulled back a little bit out of her embrace and rested your forehead against hers while softly smiling at her.
“You’re stuck with me now, I hope you know that. You can’t get rid of me that easily. I love you Nat, more than you know. And I’ll remind you every day, so you won’t forget. Because it’s you Nat, it has always been you, and I’ll show you your worth every single day.”
She softly smiled back at you, before gently kissing you. You would walk to the end of the earth and back for this woman, and you would remind her of your lover for her as often as she needed to hear it.

(Un)Reciprocated Feelings
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Warning: Angst
It had been two years, two years of you hopelessly pining after the redheaded avenger. And with every passing day, you started to fall more in love with her.
However, you knew that it could never work out, Natasha bringing date after date back to the tower, and never showing any specific romantic interest in you.
You had tried everything to get rid of your feelings. Going on dates with other people, just pretending your feelings didn’t exist, avoiding Natasha and even being rude to her for a little bit, although you soon figured out that that absolutely didn’t work.
Tonight, was going to be hard for you. Tony was organizing a small, intimate gala, and one of the few guests would be Natasha, which would make it almost impossible for you to avoid her for the whole evening.
You would just have to try your hardest and maybe try to slip away before the end. All in all, you definitely weren’t looking forward to tonight.
You had made it through the first part of the night, without running into Natasha. However, a few guests were starting to leave, making it ten times harder for you to actually avoid her.
After another twenty minutes, the moment you had been dreading all night arrived. Natasha walked towards you in an elegant red dress, looking stunning like usual, and you almost started to drool at the spot.
She greeted you with a kiss on the cheek, and started making small talk with you, even though you could barely concentrate on the conversation and only managed to answer with the bare minimum. She was standing so close to you as well. You could smell her sweet perfume and any other person would have made you feel incredibly uncomfortable by standing so close to you.
While you were standing so close to Natasha, you noticed the bright red lipstick she was wearing, which expertly matched her dress and increased the brightness of her eyes. You got so lost staring at her and thinking about her, that before you fully realised what you were doing, you leaned in and kissed her.
As soon as you realised what you were doing, you ran. You knew exactly where you were going, to the roof of the compound, where you would always go when you needed to think or just needed some time for yourself.
However, you didn’t realise that Natasha decided to run after you as soon as she had worked through the initial shock, not expecting you to kiss her at all.
Once you finally reached the roof, you just stood near the edge, realisation only just sinking in about what you had done and how you couldn’t hide it from her any longer. You couldn’t do this anymore. You would put a transfer request in tomorrow with Fury, hopefully he could transfer you somewhere far away from her.
Deep in your thoughts, you didn’t hear the door to the roof open and close or the footsteps that were slowly approaching you. She startled you when she spoke up, making you feel even more uncomfortable than you already were.
“Y/N! Turn around! We need to talk about this. You can’t just do that and walk away from me. Please. I deserve more than that. First you shut me out for months, barely even acknowledging my existence, avoiding me like the plague, and then tonight you just kiss me and try to run away afterwards. Please, I deserve an explanation. I deserve more than this.”
Her desperate words made you slowly turn your head around, tears already clouding your vision. Nat looked at you with exasperation in her eyes. The wind softly blowing through her red hair, the cold outside air making her cheeks slightly blush.
“It doesn’t matter. It was a mistake; I won’t do it again. Please, just forget about it.”
“Y/N, please, I know you, just tell me what’s going on. You can trust me. I would never do anything to hurt you, just please don’t shut me out. You just need to talk to me.”
Her words affected you more than you thought they would, and you just couldn’t hold it in anymore. Every single thought that you kept bottled up inside coming out, all at once.
“I love you alright! Is that what you wanted to hear? I’m hopelessly and utterly in love with you and I don’t know how to get over it. I’ve tried everything. Putting more distance between us, dating other people, avoiding you, pretending like nothing is going on, everything! But nothing seems to work! Whatever I do, whatever I don’t do, I still end up feeling the same way as before! And I know that I shouldn’t, I know that I should just walk away and never look back and pray for the best, pray for these feelings to be gone, but I just can’t. And it just hurts. It hurts so much, seeing you so happy with other people that aren’t me.”
Halfway through your speech, you could see Nat’s eyes soften. She looked like she pitied you. you were sobbing your eyes out by this point and ended up sitting on the roof, not being able to keep yourself up anymore.
As soon as you were done talking, you hid your face in your hands and continued sobbing, assuming Nat would have left you by yourself on the roof after your little outburst.
However, after a few seconds, you could feel a pair of arms circling around you, wrapping you up in a tight hug, while whispering comforting words in your ear.
“It’s alright Y/N, just let it out, try to calm down a bit. I’m still here, I’m not leaving until we finish our talk. Just let it all out.”
After what felt like an hour, you finally managed to calm down a bit and speak to Nat again.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean for it all to come out like this. I understand if you want to leave. I never meant for it to be this way.”
You kept looking at your shoes, until Nat gently grasped your chin, making you look in her eyes instead.
“Why didn’t you say something to me sooner Y/N? That would’ve saved the two of us a lot of heartbreak. I always thought you hated me because you kept avoiding me and making excuses not to be around me, which is the only reason why I never acted on my feeling. Because I love you too Y/N, so much.”
You just looked at her dumbstruck, not being able to formulate a decent reply. She liked you too. The woman of your dreams liked you too. She couldn’t possibly. But she just said she did. She likes you.
“Hello? Earth to Y/N? Are you still with me?”
She asked you while grinning from ear to ear. You just slowly nodded, still letting everything sink in.
Once Nat realised that you weren’t going to answer anytime soon, she decided to take a different course of action. She slowly leaned in, carefully observing how you were reacting, until at one point your faces were so close to each other that your noses were touching.
Still not seeing any signs of discomfort in your face she closed the gap between the two of you, softly kissing her.
You could have died at the spot. Not expecting for your night to end like this at all, but also not complaining one bit.
Looks like you wouldn’t have to put in that transfer request after all.

I’ll always save you
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x reader
Warning: Angst
As soon as you opened your eyes, you knew something was wrong. You were surrounded by darkness and you couldn’t hear a single sound. It wasn’t the familiar darkness of your bedroom that surrounded you, it was much harsher. You couldn’t see a single outline of anything, and you almost thought that you had gone blind, but you knew that that couldn’t have been the case.
Your body was aching, and you still didn’t know where you were and what had happened. You slowly started to stretch out your arms, trying to carefully feel what was around you and trying to find a clue that could indicate anything about your current position.
There was something wet sticking to your forehead and left leg and once you smelled the liquid that was still slowly dripping down your forehead, you realised that it was blood. Your blood. And it was coming out of a large gash on your forehead, which definitely explained your aching body.
You still didn’t know where you were and how you got there. You don’t even know how you got these injuries. Were you in an accident? Did someone take you? Where were Natasha and the others? Did something happen to them as well?
You hoped your wife was okay, because that would mean that she would raise hell on earth in order to find you which offered you a slight feeling of comfort. She would find you. she was the best spy in the entire world, and she had a whole team of superheroes to work with. If anyone could possibly find you, it would be them.
While you were still feeling around to determine your surroundings, you suddenly heard loud footsteps coming closer and closer, judging by the sound of them, they definitely belonged to a man.
Before you knew it, light was streaming into your vision. It blinded you at first, but after you got used to the brightness, you got a quick look at your surroundings, and you could see that you were trapped in a small holding cell.
There was a thin mattress with multiple dark brown stains in the corner on your left and a small bucket next to the door. There were no windows or anything and the ceiling was so low that the three men that just walked into your cell had to duck down in order to not hit their heads.
“Get up. Now. The commander wants to speak to you. Get up!”
The man standing in front of you shouted at your face, kicking you in the side when you didn’t move fast enough for his liking.
You groaned and tried to stand up, but your left leg gave out as soon as you put any weight on it, causing you to scream out in pain. You looked down on your leg and was finally able to see your injury.
Your ankle was definitely broken, given the fact that there was a bone sticking out and it was still bleeding.
When the men realised you weren’t walking anywhere, two of them grabbed you by your arms and started dragging you out of the door, causing you to let out a small groan of pain.
After a few minutes you arrived in a different room, one with a small barred window in the right corner, causing a small beam of light to shine on the middle of the room.
There were shackles hanging down from the ceiling, and the two men that had been carrying you tightened them around your wrists, causing you to hang down from the ceiling by your wrists, you were barely able to touch the ground with your toes if you stretched your feet.
You could already feel the shackles burn into your wrists and your arms were already starting to burn from trying to support your body weight.
The three men that had dragged you there walked out once you were secured in your position and slammed the large wooden door shut behind them. A few minutes after they had left you, you could hear someone else approaching your new cell.
A tall soldier entered your cell, with a slightly older man following him and as soon as you saw them, your memories of what had happened started to come back.
You had been on a mission with Natasha and Wanda, when the three of you got ambushed by HYDRA soldiers. You had created a diversion, so that Wanda and Nat could escape, but it had been too late for you to escape as well, causing you to be captured by the HYDRA soldiers.
That must mean that the avengers were already trying to find you, they had to be there soon. If anyone could find you, it was them. You were sure they were already on their way.
“Y/N Y/L/N. I’ve Heard a lot about you. I have to admit, you pleasantly surprised us with your fighting talents. Such a shame you got capture. However, we could strike a little deal for your freedom of course. If you tell us everything we want to know about the Avengers, you’re free to go. If not, we will just have to extract the information from you another way. It’s your choice.”
“I’ll never tell you anything. You can rot in hell. I’m not giving you any information that could endanger my friends. You can try all you want, but I’m not going to tell you anything.”
You spat on the ground, right after you were done speaking, certain not to betray your friends.
“Alright then, if that’s the way you want this to go. I offered you a way out, but I guess we’ll just have to retrieve the information another way.”
When the old man was done talking, he gave a small nod towards the other soldier, who opened a small briefcase with various devices which were normally used to torture people.
The next few hours were filled with pain. They kept trying to get you to talk, but the only noises you made were screams and groans filled with pain, you didn’t give them any information about the avengers.
After what felt like hours, they finally left the room, leaving you hanging from the ceiling, while blood poured out of multiple wounds on your body. Your whole body was in agonizing pain and you weren’t sure how much longer you could do this.
You fell in and out of consciousness a few times, and after you woke up again for what felt like the fifth time, you could hear footsteps coming towards you cell again.
You weren’t ready for the torture again, you were still in so much pain, you couldn’t even look up when you heard your cell door open.
Instead of the torture you were expecting, you felt two soft hands grabbing the side of your face.
“Y/N, baby, it’s me. I’m here. Your safe. I’m going to get you out of here, just hold on okay, everything will be alright, please look at me. It’s just me, Natasha, your wife.”
You slowly lifted your head, and even with your black eye and the blood coating your eyelids, you could recognize the red hair and the bright green eyes of the woman you loved.
You tried to tell her something, but you were too weak, the only noise coming out of your mouth a pained groan. Natasha’s hands had left your cheeks, and you could feel her working on the chains that were holding you in place.
As soon as the chains weren’t holding you up anymore, you fell forwards, straight into your wife’s arms who was always there to catch you. She picked you up in her arms and started carrying you outside. Soon after that, you lost all consciousness.
You woke up to small rhythmically beeping. You slowly opened your eyes, and the first thing you noticed was the warm hand holding yours. While looking around you, you noticed you were in the med wing and that the hand belonged to none other than your wife.
You tried to call her name, but the only sound coming out of your throat was a small groan. It was enough to wake Natasha however, and she immediately shot up once she realised you were awake.
“Y/N! Baby, you’re awake! I was so worried. They weren’t sure if you were going to make it. I’m so sorry we didn’t rescue you sooner. I’m so sorry. I love you so much, I couldn’t bear to see you like that.”
Natasha hugged you and looked like she never wanted to let you go.
“It’s okay Nat, I know you did all you could. I love you so much. I’m just glad they weren’t able to capture you as well. I didn’t tell them anything. I couldn’t betray any of you, especially not you. I love you.”
“I know you would never betray us baby, you did so well, but please never do that again. I was so worried. I thought I was going to lose you.”
She cupped your cheeks with both hands, careful to not hurt you by touching any of your injuries. She slowly leaned in, lightly pecking your lips, before just leaning her forehead against yours. You felt safe in her embrace and were so grateful to be back in her arms. You had missed her so much. She really was the love of your life.
“I love you so much Y/N. I’ll always save and protect you. Please remember that.”
“I know Nat, I love you too. Never forget that.”
She pulled you in once more for a kiss, before laying down in the hospital bed with you, adamant to protect you and shield you from every possible danger.

My Rock
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x reader
Warning: fluff, slight angst
“Nat, could you please just leave the kitchen? You’re distracting me and at this rate all of our dinner is going to be burned.”
You fake glared at her, trying to contain your laughter.
You were trying to make dinner for you and Natasha, this being the first night in two months the two of you were both free, due to your busy schedules.
She just giggled and wrapped her arms around you from behind once again. Resting her head on your shoulder, trying to be as close as possible to you.
“I’m sorry baby, I just missed having you close. Besides, with your cooking talents, I think it’s best if we would just order some food, at least then we’re sure that it will be edible.”
You turned around in her arms, poking your tongue out at her, with a look of mock offence on your face.
“You’re one to speak. I still remember that you tried to cook me dinner on our third anniversary and you almost burned down the house. You’re an even worse cook then I am! At least I just burn the food, not the whole kitchen.”
“Touché, and for some reason you look really hot in the kitchen, but that might also be because of the oven behind you.”
You lightly slapped her shoulder, before turning back around to the stove, trying to concentrate on the cooking. Unfortunately, Natasha was right, the food didn’t look very edible anymore. Everything was black and you could barely scrape the pasta out of the pan. If only you hadn’t been so distracted by your wife.
Turning back to Natasha, you let out a loud sigh, hating to admit your defeat.
“Fine, you’re right. This is not edible anymore. You go ahead to the living room and order some food while I throw this away and try to clean a bit.”
Natasha let out a happy squeal before turning around and making her way over to your takeout drawer where you kept all of the information on the restaurants close to your apartment.
You could already hear her on the phone, ordering your regular from your favourite restaurant, a small Chinese place down the road. They had the best Chinese food you had ever eaten in your life.
“I just ordered the food; do you need some help cleaning baby? Or do you want me to set the table?”
“I got the cleaning covered for now, so you can just start setting the table! If I need help, I’ll give a shout Nat.”
You told her while smiling at her. She quickly took a few steps towards you, before lightly pecking your lips and returning to her task, leaving you washing the dishes, smiling from ear to ear.
After a few minutes, you could suddenly hear Natasha’s phone ring, you just assumed it was the restaurant, calling about your order.
After Natasha had been on the phone for a few minutes, you started to get curious about who was on the phone. You slowly made your way into the living room, to see Natasha stare out of the window, still on the phone, while making the occasional noise to show the person on the other end of the line that she was still listening.
You could see Natasha’s facial expression change during the phone call. When she put down the phone, her face was pale and she looked like she was about to cry for a second, before masking it with her stoic face she used when she didn’t want people to know what she was feeling. However, you knew her far too well for that and knew that something in that phone call had worried her.
“Nat? What’s going on love? Is everything okay? Who was on the phone? Someone you know?”
She just looked at you, and you quickly walked towards her, engulfing her in a hug.
It was then that she broke down, she sobbed in your shoulder, unable to speak. But just as quickly as she broke down, she pulled herself together again.
“It’s Clint, he’s in the hospital, he got in an accident and they don’t know if he’s going to make it. I need to go there to make sure everything goes okay. I also need to notify Laura, but I’ll do that once I’m in the hospital. Please don’t wait up for me, I don’t know when I’ll be back.”
“Natasha Romanoff, you’re an idiot if you think I’m going to let you go there by yourself. You quickly grab whatever you’ll need, and I’ll get the car ready to drive you to the hospital. No discussion, just go pack quickly, I’m coming with you no matter what you say.”
She just nodded, kissed your forehead and walked off in a hurry.
You turned off most of the lights, grabbed your car keys, phone and wallet and went downstairs to get your car, making sure Nat would be in the hospital quickly. A few minutes later Nat climbed next to you in the car with a small duffle bag, and you sped off to the hospital.
The whole ride to the hospital was silent, Natasha was deep in thought and you didn’t want to disturb her.
You dropped Natasha off at the entrance of the hospital so that she could go in while you parked the car, you would be able to find her in the hospital afterwards, but now she needed to find her friend as soon as possible.
Once you had parked the car and went inside the hospital, you were easily able to find Natasha and Clint.
She was sitting next to his hospital bed, holding his hand while just looking at him.
“I just called Laura, she’ll be on the first plane here and I’ll be waiting here until she arrives.”
Nat told you without looking at you in a monotone voice. You just replied with a small okay, not wanting to distract her from her thoughts too much.
You grabbed a second chair for yourself, and went to sit next to Natasha, taking her other hand in yours, slowly stroking circles over it with your thumb, which made her seem to relax just a little bit and she started resting her head on your shoulders.
After a few hours, you could start to feel yourself slowly dozing off, the lack off sleep of the last 2 weeks finally catching up to you.
You tried to hide it from Natasha as good as possible, but as usual nothing went unnoticed by her.
“Y/N please, you need to go home, you can’t stay here with me until he wakes up. You need to take care of yourself as well. Please go home and rest for a bit baby. I promise that I’ll be home soon. Please just go home and sleep for a bit.”
“No, you need me Nat, I can’t just go home and leave you here by yourself babe. Besides, if home is where the heart is, then I’m right where I belong. Here at home, with you. So stop pushing me away and accept my help. I’m not going anywhere. Worst case I’ll take a little nap here, and I’ve slept in more uncomfortable places than this.”
Natasha glanced at you with a look of defeat, realising that you weren’t going anywhere after seeing the stubborn look on your face.
“Fine, but you do need to rest baby, please. You can rest your head on my shoulders and just take a small nap. Please.”
“Fine. But if something happens you need to wake me up. Or if you need someone to talk to or just to support you. Please wake me up Nat. I love you okay.”
“I promise baby. I love you too, now go and try to nap for a bit.”
You just looked at her and nodded, too tired to argue about it anymore. You rested your head on her shoulder and you could feel her pressing a small kiss on top of your head, which made you slightly smile.
While you were dozing off, you could hear Natasha whisper a few words in your hair, thinking you were already asleep.
“I love you Y/N, thank you for always supporting me and staying by my side. Thank you for being my rock.”
“Always Nat.”
After that you were fast asleep.

The Gala
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x reader
Warning: Fluff
You were standing in front of your closet, trying to find something to wear for the gala Tony was throwing your girlfriend Natasha tonight.
She had just come back from a two-month mission, in which she managed to discover and sabotage Hydra’s plan to slowly infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D and the avengers. And Tony being Tony, took every chance to throw one of his extravagant, over the top parties.
Which lead to your current dilemma, deciding what to wear for the gala. You were hesitating between a red dress with a long slit up your right leg, or a simple but elegant long black dress. In the end you decided to go with the red dress, purely because you knew Natasha would like it.
You hadn’t seen Natasha yet, she left your room early this morning before you were awake, presumably to finish the last bit of paperwork from her mission and talk to Fury. Tony had also mentioned he needed to talk to her, so you were afraid you would only see her at the gala.
While you were laying out your outfit for tonight, you were suddenly startled by a loud knock on the door, followed by the sound of footsteps and the door being opened.
“Y/N! There you are! I need to talk to you about the gala tonight.”
Tony loudly proclaimed while marching into your room full of confidence.
“Tony! Next time wait until I let you in, you can’t just come waltzing in here like you own the place. What do you need?”
Tony just looked at you grinning from ear to ear before speaking up again.
“Darling, I do own the place remember? But I had some ideas for the gala tonight. I want you to give a speech about our beloved super spy, given that the gala is in her honour. I’ll obviously say a few words myself as well, but who better to give the actual speech than her second half? The gala starts at 8, so your speech will be at 9. Come prepared and good luck darling.”
With a last parting wink, Tony turned around and walked out of your room again, leaving you no time to respond to what he just said. It looks like you had a speech to write for tonight, something you weren’t prepared for in the slightest.
You had been sitting behind your desk for three hours, ten papers laying crumpled up next to your chair, while the paper in front of you was still blank. However, the gala started in an hour and you really had to start getting ready. Looks like you will have to improvise tonight. You just hoped that inspiration would strike at the last moment.
It was ten to eight and you were on your way to the gala, to make sure you were on time. You hoped Natasha would be there already, since you couldn’t wait to see her again.
You walked through the doors of the mansion Tony hired for the gala, and to say you were impressed would be an understatement. Tony really had outdone himself once again. Everything was subtly decorated with white and gold, there were ice sculptures standing on several places in the room and you could see a small stage in the front. In the left corner was a small band playing classical music and on the right side of the room was an open bar.
Your eyes wandered around the room, trying to find the one person you wanted to see the most.
While you had seen most of the avengers, you still hadn’t found your girlfriend. Suddenly you felt two hands covering your eyes, which caused you to immediately turn around, since there was only one person those hands could belong to.
“Guess who?”
She softly whispered in your ear. You couldn’t stop grinning and decided to tease her a bit.
“Wanda? Or maybe Carol?”
She removed her hands, lightly slapping you on your shoulder, allowing you to finally take in her appearance. You were dumbfounded. She wore a tight black dress, her hair was slightly wavy, falling perfectly around her face and her piercing green eyes bored straight into your soul.
“Wow Nat, you look absolutely amazing.”
You told her while pecking her cheek before giving a light peck to her lips.
“Coming from you. I can’t believe this goddess standing in front of me is my girlfriend.”
She told you while tightly gripping your hand, intertwining your fingers, making you blush.
The two of you started to walk towards the rest of your friends, sometimes stopping to speak to some other people. After a while, you excused yourself to get some drinks for you and Natasha, promising her you would be back in a few seconds.
However, while you were standing at the bar, you suddenly heard Tony’s voice and you saw him standing on the little stage, behind the microphone.
“Welcome everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying themselves! Thank you all for coming to this little party I threw in honour of my dear friend and co-worker, Natasha Romanoff! Now before I continue, I would like to invite Y/N Y/L/N up here to say some words!”
A spotlight shined down on you, while you started to make your way over to the stage. Damn Tony for making you do this. You could feel yourself starting to sweat and you just hoped your speech would go well, it was the least Natasha deserved.
“Good evening everyone! I’ve known Natasha for about six years now, and every single day, she keeps surprising me. One of the first things she told me after we met, was that she had red in her ledger and would like to wipe it out. She believed that she could do that by dedicating her life to the Avengers. What she doesn’t know, is that she wiped her ledger clean long ago. Tonight, we’re all here to celebrate her. Especially the success she had with her last mission, but I’m also her to celebrate her as a person. She’s my inspiration and I don’t know what the world would look like without her. To Natasha!”
You ended your speech with raising the champagne glass Tony had handed you, as a way of toasting to Natasha. You quickly climbed down from the stage, to make your way back to Natasha.
She already started making her way over to you and pulled you to the side as soon as she reached you so that the two of you could have a little more privacy.
She pulled you into a kiss before talking to you, while leaning her forehead on yours.
“I love you so much baby. Thank you so much for believing in me. But I couldn’t do half the things I do without you, I may be your inspiration, but you’re mine. I just hope you know that.”
“I love you too Nat, and I meant every word I just said. I always knew you were going to change the world. Because you changed mine the moment you entered it. Just don’t sell yourself short, you’re one of the best persons I know.”
Natasha just responded by pressing her lips against yours once again. You saw a mischievous glint appearing in her green eyes and she grabbed your hand once again, tugging you with her.
“Let’s go home love, I think we’ve been here long enough.”
You just smiled at her in response and let her drag you away from the party, just happy that she was home once again.

Survivor’s Guilt
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x reader
Warning: Slight Angst
You were rolled out of the plane on a brancard, going straight to the medical wing of the compound, leaving a small trail of blood behind. The first person you saw after exiting the plane, was your girlfriend Natasha, she was kind of hard to miss with her fiery red hair. You were glad she was there, since she was the only one you really needed in that moment. She immediately came running towards you once she had caught sight of you, grabbing your hand and telling you how everything was going to be okay, following you into the medical wing. But you knew that it wouldn't be okay, nothing was okay. You didn’t dare to tell Natasha that yet though, there was no need to unload all of that on her at the moment, she had probably been worried sick about you. But she didn’t know yet how sideways the whole mission went. You kept on seeing their bodies lying in front of you. They were all covered in blood, you could barely make out the colour of the dirt anymore, there was blood everywhere. And most of it was on your hands. You remembered screaming for help, hoping that someone could free you. After six hours of waiting, you were still trapped under the heavy piece of metal that had impaled your leg. You couldn't move and you could slowly feel yourself lose consciousness as well, due to all the blood loss. You felt helpless, you couldn’t save anyone, not even yourself.
You noticed the bomb too late, if only you had noticed it sooner. You should have noticed it sooner; you were a spy after all. A spy that failed. A spy that couldn’t keep her team safe. But still you somehow survived. You felt like you should be dead, just like you team, but you couldn’t help but feel glad to be alive, to be here, close to Natasha, which made you feel even guiltier.
You had to go into surgery because of your leg, and because of the anaesthetics, you were freed from all of your horrible thoughts for a moment.
However, as soon as you woke up in the hospital bed again, everything came crashing back. The only thing keeping you grounded being Natasha’s hand in yours. You felt like you had to get out of there, you didn’t belong in that hospital bed, you had to inform the families of your fallen comrades of their fate. You wanted to be the one to do it, given that you were their captain and knew most of them personally.
The second you tried to put your weight on your leg, you groaned out in pain, which woke Natasha up who had been sleeping in the chair besides your bed beforehand.
“Y/N! You’re awake! What are you doing? Get back in bed, you’re not allowed to put pressure on your leg for 2 weeks because of the surgery. How are you feeling babe? Does anything hurt? Do I need to get the doctors?”
You tried to keep a straight face, but the memories constantly replaying in your head slowly became too much for you, especially after seeing Natasha’s worried face and hearing her caring voice. You could feel the first tear slowly escaping your eye and making its way down your cheek, only more following. "They died. They all died Nat. And I couldn't do anything about it. I couldn't do anything. I tried. I tried so hard. But in the end, it didn’t matter. I'm sitting here and they are not. And it's just not fair. It's not fair! It's all my fault. I should've tried harder! I was their captain! They looked up to me! They should still be here! I should've tried harder..." After your little outburst you started sobbing uncontrollably and collapsed into Natasha's arms. She just put her arms around you and slowly guided the two of you to the floor. She kept on slowly rocking the two of you back and forth, hoping to be able to calm you a little bit, but she knew that there was nothing she could say at the moment to make you feel better. Survivor's guilt was a nasty thing and the only thing to make you feel better was time. For now, the only thing she could do was support you as much as possible, which was exactly what she intended on doing.
She had been in your shoes before, multiple times and she knew how it felt. She knew that it was hard. But if someone could overcome it, it was you. With your strong spirit which made her fall in love with you in the first place.
She would be there for you every step of the way, no matter how long it would take. Always being your rock to rely on.
Once you calmed down a bit, Natasha managed to convince you to at least get back in bed and stop trying to walk.
“Y/N, babe, listen to me. I know what you’re going through, and I just need you to know that I’ll be here to support you every step of the way. But please talk to me. Tell me what you need. Tell me what you want. I can’t help you otherwise. Just know that you don’t have to do this alone.”
You looked at her with tears in your eyes, still tightly grasping her hands, it being the only thing that was keeping you from totally falling apart at the moment.
“Just stay with me. Please. You’re all I need at the moment. Please just stay with me.”
She softly placed a kiss on your forehead, before whispering.
“Of course, baby, always.”
With her words replaying in your mind, you slowly dozed off again because of the painkillers.
Everything was still far from okay but having Natasha by your side made everything just that little bit more bearable. Just that little bit that you needed to get through this. You knew that you still had a long way to go, but that you’d get there in the end, with Natasha right there next to you, supporting you.

My World
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x reader
Warning: Slight Angst
It had been a month since you had last seen Natasha. She had to go on another mission again to save the world. Normally you didn’t mind since you knew she was out saving the world, but there were times that you missed her terribly.
Today was one of those days. When you woke up this morning you tried to find Natasha in the bed next to you, but the cold sheets quickly reminded you of the fact that she was on a mission. You quickly rolled out of bed, making yourself a fresh cup of coffee. Black with no sugar.
After making yourself some breakfast as well, you decided to get some work done. You went to sit behind your little wooden desk in the corner of your room, hoping you would get struck with inspiration for a new story.
However, you just couldn’t get Natasha out of your mind, it felt like she had left ages ago and you just hoped she would be done with her mission soon so that she could come back to you. While thinking about Natasha, inspiration suddenly hit you and you started writing.
It was almost a love letter to her, naming all the things you loved about her, like how her eyes looked like they could look right through you and how she was always there for you. You had never met anyone that was so good in reading people as Natasha was.
After a few hours, you decided to make a quick grocery run since you were starting to get hungry again. The coffee and piece of toast in the morning hadn’t been enough to leave you satisfied. You barely had any food left in the apartment and you didn’t want to order takeout again for the sixth night in a row.
It took you twenty minutes to find your car keys. Normally Natasha was the clean and organised one and she always knew were everything was, but since she had been gone for a month, you had lost almost everything in your apartment at least once already.
You fished the keys from in between the couch cushions and made your way to your small white car. You absolutely loved your car, since you were able to park it almost everywhere because of it’s small size.
You slowly started driving to the mall, singing along to whatever song was playing on the radio to keep yourself entertained.
Suddenly, it felt like you were flying. You could hear glass breaking around you, metal scraping over the road, your head banging against the airbag that came out of your steering wheel.
You feel something warm dripping down your head and you can’t move your legs. Your mind is unable to process what just happened. People’s voices are asking you things but you’re unable to respond, you’re barely able to understand them.
Slowly you can feel yourself slipping away, and before you know, everything is completely dark and you don’t feel anything anymore.
A slow but steady beeping woke you up. You slowly opened your eyes and was surprised by how hard it actually was. You had no idea where you were and what had happened. The only thing you saw was a white ceiling with fluorescent lights and the beeping you had heard before had intensified.
You felt someone holding your right hand and tried to look who it was, but the slightest movement made a sharp pain shoot through your body. You let out a pained groan and within seconds you could see Natasha’s head appearing in your range of sight.
“Y/N! Baby! I’m so glad you’re awake! You’ve been out for two weeks; I was so worried you weren’t going to make it. How are you feeling? Can I get you anything? Let me get the doctor.”
She pressed a small button next to your bed before taking your hand again and tightly squeezing it in hers.
“Nat? Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be out saving the world? What happened?”
You croaked out, since your throat felt dry and you still had no clue what exactly had happened. Natasha first got you some water since she heard you were parched and then responded with a sad voice.
“You are my world Y/N. When the hospital called me saying you had been in a car crash with a drunk driver and were in critical condition, I immediately came home. It felt like my whole world had stopped and came crashing down, so I jumped on the first plane back, hoping you would be alright, since I couldn’t bear losing you. I love you baby, and nothing is more important than you.”
You felt a small tear slip down your cheek and Natasha quickly wiped it away with her thumb before pressing a kiss to your forehead.
Your small moment was quickly disturbed by the doctor clearing his throat while entering your room. Natasha stood up and let the doctor take her place so that he could properly examine you.
“I assume your girlfriend here has filled you in on what happened. You have been very lucky; this accident could have ended very differently. Your rib punctured your right lung and you have a severe concussion. Furthermore, a piece of your car impaled your left leg, so you will have to go to therapy for the next three months before you can properly walk again. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and if you need anything, just push the button next to your bed.”
After the doctor finished examining you, he left your room and Natasha took her place next to your bed again.
“I missed you Nat, I’m really glad you’re home again, just wish it would’ve been for different reasons.”
You said with a small laugh. Nat frowned while responding.
“I know baby. You really scared me. I thought I was going to lose you for forever. I promise I’ll stay home until you are fully recovered, and I’ll go with you to your physical therapy and everything. I love you so much Y/N. You’re more important than any of my missions.”
“Are you sure Nat? I know how important it is to you to do good in the world and I don’t want you to give all of that up for me. Accidents happen, I’ll recover, you’ve had worse injuries than this anyways. Besides, the world needs you.”
“You are my world Y/N, and I would never forgive myself if something would happen to you and I wouldn’t be there to help you. You almost died alone in that car crash and I wasn’t there to help you. It took me two days to get back to you and I just don’t want that anymore. I’ll still go on missions, just less and hopefully closer to home. I really love you Y/N and I want to start our lives together, maybe get a farm like Clint and his family.”
“That sounds great Nat. Just know that I’ll support you in anything you decide. I love you too, so much. Never forget that. I can’t wait to start our lives together.”
The two of you smiled at each other and Nat slowly leaned in to peck your lips. In that moment you knew everything would work out fine perfectly and that the two of you would get past this stronger than you’ve been before.

The Old Photo Album
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x reader
Warning: fluff
You were anxiously waiting in your living room. Natasha was supposed to come home today after another long mission. You hadn’t heard from here in two weeks, which wasn’t weird considering her profession and you knew that she could handle herself, but a small part of you couldn’t help but worry anyways.
You decided to try and find something to distract yourself with until she would be home. While looking for the book you started reading three weeks ago, you suddenly stumbled on an old photo album. You started flipping through the pages while making your way over to the chair in the corner of the room.
The pages were filled with all of the good memories you and Nat had. The first picture that caught your eye, was a photo of Nat standing in the kitchen, wearing nothing but one of your oversized shirts. You remembered this as if it was yesterday.
You slowly woke up and stretched your arms, trying to find Nat’s body. Your fingers were met with just the sheets, but you could still feel the heat of where Nat had been lying in bed. You got up and searched for one of Nat’s shirts to put on, before slowly making your way downstairs. Once you opened your bedroom door, you were met with the smell of eggs and bacon, which only made you walk downstairs faster.
When you reached the kitchen, you couldn’t help but smile at the sight in front of you. There she was, Natasha Romanoff, your wife, your soulmate, standing in nothing but one of your shirts, cooking breakfast. It wasn’t often that you saw her this domestic and you couldn’t help but stare and smile at her.
You decided to just stand there for a bit and enjoy the sight in front of you, thinking that Nat hadn’t noticed you yet. After a few minutes, Nat suddenly spoke up, slightly startling you.
“You should take a picture, it will last longer.”
Of course she had noticed you, she was a spy and stealth had never been your strong suit. You smiled at her and started walking over to her. Once you were within an arm’s reach, she turned around and wrapped her arms around you, pressing a kiss on your forehead.
“Good morning moya lubov, how did you sleep? I wanted to surprise you with breakfast in bed, given everything you’ve done for me lately, but seems like that’s not going to happen anymore.”
You looked up and quickly pecker her lips before answering.
“I could go back to bed, pretend I’m sleeping.”
You quickly winked at Nat, wriggling yourself out of her arms, not even waiting for her answer before running upstairs again.
You were glad you snapped that picture of Nat, since she was almost never that domestic, and she looked absolutely amazing.
The next picture that caught your eye, was a photo of you and Nat, both covered from head to toe in different colours of paint. This was from the day that you convincer her to help you prank Sam and Bucky. Safe to say she never helped you prank them again after that.
“Nat please, I’m begging you. If you help me prank Sam and Bucky, I’ll owe you for forever. Please.”
You asked her while pouting, hoping she would give in.
“Fine! Just because you’re cute. But just so you know, I still think it’s a stupid plan. And you owe me after this!”
You immediately jumped into her arms and started peppering kisses all over her face.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ll be forever grateful!”
She just smiled while playfully pushing you away, asking once more what your plan exactly was.
You had prepared small balloons filled with different colours of paint and you were planning to bombard Sam and Bucky with them, covering them in paint if everything would go well.
You and Nat slowly made your way to the living room, where you knew Sam and Bucky would be, both of you carrying a bucket filled with balloons. Nat quietly opened the door, and the two of you went in. Nat started counting down with her fingers, and then all hell broke loose.
Nat threw every balloon with precision and never missed her target, whereas you almost never hit your target. Somewhere halfway during the fight, Bucky managed to steal your bucket from you and he started throwing the balloons at you and Nat.
After fifteen minutes, all balloons were gone and all four of you were covered in paint. You looked at Nat and started laughing while she just pouted at you.
“Ah come on Nat, it was definitely worth it, look at them, they look much worse than us, besides, I still think you look cute, even covered in paint.”
She softly smiled at you, walked towards you and pecked your lips, before dragging you upstairs to go take a shower.
You didn’t know for how long you had been flipping through the pages of the photo album, but at one point you could hear someone trying to open the door with a key. That must be Nat. A few second later, you heard her voice calling out for you.
“Y/N? Moya Lubov? I’m home!”
You smiled before telling her where you were. You took one last look at the photo album, before putting it on the table in front of you and making your way over towards your wife.
“You’re home. How was the mission? Did everything go alright? Are you hurt? I’ve missed you babe.”
She just smiled at you before she pulled you in for a kiss. You had missed her and judging by the kiss, it was obvious that she had missed you too.
“Everything went well, don’t worry moya lubov. I missed you too, but at least now I’ll be home for a while and I’m planning on spending so much time with you that you’ll be glad when I’ll have to leave for another mission.”
She told you while slightly smirking.
You just pulled her in for another kiss, not bothering to reply.
“What’s that on the table? Were you looking through our photo album?”
“Yeah, I was trying to find something to pass the time with and found this, it reminded me of all of the good memories we already made.”
“Yeah, pictures just last longer.”
Nat said while smirking at you and you couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
You walked to the photo album and put it back where it belonged before turning to Nat again.
“No matter how much fun it was to look at photos of you, I’m just glad I have the live version again.”

Partners in crime W.M
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x reader
Warning: Slight Angst
When you agreed to go with Wanda to check out a lead on an abandoned Hydra base, this is not what you expected. Not in the slightest. You were crouched behind a wall, trying to find a way out of this mess, while bullets were flying all around you. Because of the loud gunfire, you could barely hear Wanda’s voice over the comms and the only thing you could do now, was hoping she would find you before you met your end in a dark hallway by the hand of some Hydra scum.
This morning, Wanda had come into your room, asking you for a favour. She got a tip about an abandoned Hydra base, not that far away from the city and she wanted to check it out before telling the other Avengers. To be extra safe, she wanted you to come with her as her backup, in case things would go sideways.
She could’ve asked you to go to hell with her and you would’ve agreed. You’ve been in love with Wanda since you first laid eyes on her. And the better you got to know her, the deeper you fell. There was nothing you wouldn’t do for her.
When you arrived at the Hydra base, it indeed looked to be abandoned from the outside, which only gave Wanda more reason to go inside. You didn’t immediately agree, you had a bad feeling about it and suggested to call backup, just in case, but according to Wanda, you were the backup.
At first everything went fine, you didn’t encounter anyone for ten minutes, but then all hell broke loose. Hydra soldiers came from every side, and you and Wanda got separated, trying to fight your way outside. How you wished you would have trusted your gut and called backup.
Which is how you found yourself here, with your back against the wall, slowly losing hope because your only exit was blocked by about fifty Hydra soldiers. You could hear them coming closer and prepared yourself for the fight that would follow in a few seconds.
The first few Hydra soldiers that turned the corner, were greeted with a bullet in the head, and then you were quickly pulled into a knife fight. You could still hear Wanda’s voice faintly over the comms, but you were too busy to actually process what she was saying, let alone respond.
After taking down some other Hydra soldiers, you were slowly starting to become tired. If you were going to make it out of here, Wanda has to hurry up.
You had scratches and burns everywhere from the hits the Hydra soldiers got in and you could feel yourself grow weak. Another Hydra soldier punched you straight in the face, and you almost went down.
Suddenly you saw a faint red glow at the other end of the hallway. You had never been happier to see Wanda, the fight would be over soon now.
Wanda had finally caught sight of you and started making her way over, taking down every Hydra soldier she encountered. You continued fighting as well, finding some new energy at the sight of Wanda.
While you were busy trying to defend yourself, you suddenly saw a soldier creeping up behind Wanda, but she hadn’t noticed him yet.
“Wanda! Behind you!” you screamed at her and she turned around, quickly taking the soldier down. However, you lost your focus for a second while you were warning Wanda and one of the Hydra soldiers managed to stab you. You suddenly felt a sharp pain in your abdomen and you slowly fell to the ground.
From then on everything went very quick. Wanda saw you go down and quickly finished the rest of the Hydra soldiers off, before running to your side. You smiled at her with a small grin.
“Y/N, stay with me okay. I’ll get you out of here, you just need to hold on for a little bit. The team is on their way, they’ll help us. Just stay with me okay, I can’t lose you. Y/N please. I need you. Stay awake. Don’t leave me.”
You smiled at her, trying your best to stay awake and trying to find the strength to tell her something you should’ve told her a long time ago.
“Wanda, there’s something you need to know, please. Just in case I die here –”
“No, don’t even say it. You can tell me when you’re all better, you’re not going to die here, do you hear me! You just can’t.”
You just gripped her hand in response and lightly squeezed it while Wanda was still trying to stop your bleeding with her other hand. That was the last thing you remember before everything went dark.
The first thing you heard was beeping and you desperately tried to open your eyes. After a while, you could slowly open your eyes and you took in your surroundings.
You were in the med bay and Wanda was sleeping on a chair next to your bed, holding on tightly to your hand. You slowly started to remember everything that happened.
A few minutes later, you heard the door of the room open. You looked up and saw Natasha walking in. She was one of your closest friends on the team, one of your best friends. She softly smiled at you when she noticed you were awake and rushed to your side.
“Hey Y/N, how are you feeling? You scared all of us, we thought you were going to die! Don’t ever do something this reckless ever again! We all care too much about you to let you die. At least inform someone else of your plans next time! When Wanda came in with your body in her arms, everyone thought you were death, it’s a miracle you even made it!”
“I’m sorry Nat, I won’t do it again, I promise. I’m so sorry for scaring you, if I would have known it was going to be this dangerous I wouldn’t have done it, but Wanda and I both didn’t know. I’m really sorry.”
She just pressed a quick kiss to your forehead and stroked your hair. At the same time, you saw Wanda stirring in her chair and she slowly opened her eyes.
It took her a second to process the fact that you were awake, but then she launched herself onto you, while still being careful of your injuries.
“Y/N! I’m so glad you’re awake! I was so worried! How are you feeling? Can I get you anything?”
Wanda rambled on while checking you over. You lightly chuckled and grabber her hand again while telling her you were all fine. Nat quickly pressed another kiss on the top of your head and slowly left the room to give the two of you some privacy. After she left Wanda started talking again, this time with a serious and guilty expression on her face.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry. It was my fault you almost died out there. I never should have asked you to come with me. I put you in danger and that is the last thing I ever want to do. I’m so sorry. Please forgive me.”
You lightly grabbed her chin to make her look at you while you were trying to find words to respond.
“Wanda, listen to me. You’re the only person I wanted to be with yesterday. There’s no one I trust as much as I trust you, and when you need a partner in crime, I’ll always be there. It’s not your fault that you got wrong intel, next time just maybe bring some extra backup.”
You told her while winking at the end. She looked a bit more relieved and you wanted to say something else but she quickly cut you off.
“Y/N, I love you, I have loved you for a while now and almost losing you has made me realise how short and unpredictable life can be and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I should have told you sooner, but I was too afraid to say anything.”
You were dumbstruck and tried to find the right words to respond.
“I get it if you don’t feel the same way, I just needed to tell you and –”
Before Wanda could finish her sentence, you cut her off with a kiss and she was quick to kiss you back. When you both pulled back, you rested your foreheads against each other while both smiling. You had been waiting a long time to do this, and it was better than you could have imagined.
At least something good came out of this whole near death experience.

Nothing but a memory
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x reader
Warning: Angst
The only thing you could concentrate on, was the single rose in your hand. The colour of the petals as red as Natasha’s hair and as red as the ground on Vormir after Natasha’s sacrifice. The slight sting of the thorns keeping you grounded, keeping you focused.
This was the first time you were here by yourself. All of the previous times someone went with you, mostly for emotional support and to make sure you didn’t do anything you would later regret.
You guess it’s true what they say, the longer someone’s gone, the less people care. The first three months after her death, everyone kept a close eye on you. There was always someone close to you, ready to help, cook, clean or just be a shoulder to cry on.
But slowly everyone started to move on and get back to a somewhat normal life. They only lost a friend, whereas you, you had lost your whole world.
The closer you got to her grave, the stronger your grip on the rose got. A rose, a red rose, also known as the lover’s rose. Which is what you and Natasha were. Lovers. Partners. One could even say Soulmates.
You could see it now, you only needed to take a few more steps and you would reach her grave. Part of you still couldn’t believe it. You knew the job came with it’s risks, but hell, she was Natasha Romanoff. She could do anything she wanted. No one could bring her down. Which turned out to be exactly the problem in the end.
You slowly sat down in front of her grave, and put the rose down, only to realise you had been holding onto it with so much strength that your hand was bleeding from where the thorns punctured your skin.
You were too tired to feel it though. You hadn’t had a good night of sleep since that night. She always appeared in your dreams, causing you to wake up screaming and with a heavy heart.
You wish you could hold her one more time. There was so much the two of you still needed to do. The small box in your pocket constantly reminding you of that.
The worst moments, however, weren’t when you were mourning her, no, the worst was when you forgot she was gone. When you would wake up in the morning and try to find her next to you, or when you would come home and say, “Honey I’m home”. Only to realise a few seconds later that you’re never going to wake up next to her again and that you were coming home to an empty apartment. Those moments were the worst, since it was like losing her all over again.
Today it had been a year. A year of not having seen Natasha’s smile, a year of not having heard her voice. It was time for you to move on. It is what she would have wanted.
You looked at her grave again. A single tear slowly rolling down your cheek. You promised yourself you would still come and visit her, but you also needed to move on. So you slowly turned around and started making your way out of the graveyard, while more tears started to fall down your cheeks. You still loved her, but you had to move on.
Because after all, she was nothing but a memory anymore.

Meeting Her (Brie Larson Imagine)
I silently sat at the kitchen counter in Scarlett’s apartment. She held a party for her 23th birthday and I was invited. I knew Scarlett from work, since we both played in the movie Rough Night. We talked a bit outside of the set and we got to know each other quite well. We kept in touch and now we are pretty close friends. That's why she invited me to her party.
I hate party's, but Scarlett practically begged me to come to her birthday party and I couldn't say no. But since party's are way to crowded for me, I just sat here at the white, marble kitchen counter, occasionally sipping from my beer.
When I looked at the clock at the wall, I saw that it was almost twelve. A good time to leave this party.
Just as I was about to get up, Scarlett came walking towards me with a gorgeous blonde woman. "Y/N you weren't leaving were you? The party is just getting started!" A slightly tipsy Scarlett said to me.
"Y/N I want you to meet someone. This is Brie, a friend of mine. I think the two of you will get along just fine!" Scarlett said while pushing Brie towards me.
I extended my hand towards her for a handshake, but she pushed my hand away and took me by surprise by hugging me while whispering in my ear. "Sorry I'm a hugger."
I let out a little laugh and when I got out of het embrace, I saw Scarlett was already gone and making her way to the dance floor again.
"So Y/N, why are you here sitting here alone at the kitchen counter drinking a beer, instead of dancing on the dance floor and actually having fun?" Brie asked me grinning.
I chuckled and answered her that I wasn't a real party animal and that I preferred the silence of my apartment instead of those busy, crowded party's.
She let out a little laugh and it was the most adorable sound I had ever heard. While she was talking to me, I carefully checker her out.
She was breathtakingly beautiful and I could get lost in her mesmerizing eyes. While I was too deep in my thoughts about her, I didn't hear a word of what she said to me.
" You should take a picture Y/N that lasts longer." She winked at me while my cheeks turned bright red. "You're cute when you're blushing." She laughed and my cheeks turned a darker shade of red while she was still laughing.
The longer we talked, the more interested I became in the gorgeous woman sitting beside me. Her words affected me like no one else did.Scarlett played a very good matchmaker this time.
I noticed that Brie came closer every time we talked about something new. Maybe she liked my company? It could be.
Suddenly Brie pulls me up from my chair and drags me towards the dance floor, While I whined as a little child that I didn't like dancing.
"Shut up Y/N" She said laughing " You have to live a little! Just follow my lead. I promise you that it will be fun!"
Brie danced like there was no tomorrow. She looked beautiful while dancing. When I joined here and our body's pressed together while we were dancing, I felt like I was in heaven. I got butterflies in my stomach and I wanted to stand there forever with Brie.
It was weird that I knew her such a short time, but that I already felt a click with the blonde woman.
After awhile we both got tired and we went back to the kitchen to grab a drink.
I looked at the clock and I saw that it was already 3! I had to work tomorrow, so I decided that it would be for the best if I went home now.
I told Brie and she insisted that she would walk me out. While we walked to the front door, she grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers.
I grabbed my coat and when I wanted to say my goodbyes to Brie, she took me by surprise by grabbing the collar of my shirt and gently pecking my lips. The whole zoo erupted in my stomach.
I kissed her almost immediately back, and when we both pulled back she spoke up. "I had a lot of fun tonight with you Y/N. Do you mind going on a date with me? Are you free tomorrow? Scarlett already gave me your number so I can call you!"
I blushed and grinned like an idiot after her words. "I would love to go on a date with you Brie! I am free tomorrow at seven! So maybe dinner at eight? Just let me now where I have to be and at what time and I will be there on time! I really enjoyed tonight with you! You made this party a lot more entertaining!"
Brie smiled at my words and opened the door for me. While I walked towards my uber, Brie hastily planted a kiss on my cheek and shouted. "I will see you tomorrow Y/N! I will text you the details! Get home safe love!"
I blushed at her words and got in my uber, thinking about the, not so bad after all, party and the amazing person Brie Larson was. Tomorrow was going to be a good day!
