Imagine Lestat choosing not to turn you until you grow older - then being with you when you are an adult.

When Lestat first found you, you were only a child. Originally, he had planned for you to be a playmate for Claudia but something always held him back. It was most likely the influence of Claudia herself, who wanted to grow up and be a woman more than anything in the world, and resented Lestat for taking that from her. He didn’t need the hatred of another person in his home, so when he brought you in - the poor orphan that you were - he kept you as a human so you could grow up, and Claudia could live through you.

But then something happened as you grew up that Lestat had not intended. As a child, you had looked somewhat like the dolls that Claudia loved with your pink cheeks and your curly hair but as you grew up, you became less like a doll and more like a beautifully carved statue. You grew into your body wonderfully, as Lestat would always tell you, and Claudia grew more and more jealous of your figure and would spend her nights touching you and asking questions, and on more than one occasion, Lestat had to step in to save you from the inquisition.

And something happened that you had not intended either. Lestat, the vampire who had brought you into his (mainly Louis’s) home and bought you everything that you could dream of, started seeming less like a caretaker and more like a man, granted he’s immortal and drinks blood nightly but nonetheless, those are things you learned to get over while young.

On the eve of your twenty-fifth birthday, Lestat took you out, just the two of you. A moonlit walk on the beach in your finest clothes, a meal at a fine dining establishment, he even restrained himself from drinking the barmaid! At the end of the night, he pulled you into a quiet alley and spoke as Lestat did best.

“For years, I’ve been watching you like a hawk. Looking for any sign that you would betray me, and Claudia.” He added as an after-thought. “And you never did. Instead, you became close to us. We are a family, no? The three of us?” He forgot about Louis. “So let’s become more of a family. Become like me, it will only hurt a little, then we can be together for eternity.”

“Le-Lestat!” you moaned as you came all over and around him, and he followed right behind you, tightening his grip around your fragile body and keeping you in place when he released the warm liquid that filled you so sweetly
