Hello! Question. So I have notifs on for a number of blogs I follow. Including yours. I'm on mobile and get those notifs sent to my phone when not on Tumblr. I'd like to continue getting notifs sent to me about new fics posted but filter out and block the rest of the random posts unrelated to that. It's just since I have notifs on for so many blogs now I'm getting way too many notifs sent to my phone daily its hard to keep up with now. So wanted to ask what all your tags are to filter it better.
These are the tags I used the most for my posts! You can find more in my navigation!
#just abstract things - I use this for stuff from me
#anon asks - answering your anon asks
#just ask abs - answering your non-anon asks
#my writing - all of my writings
#fic recs - recommendations and reblogs of writings I love
#not mine - I did not create these wonderful things

synopsis. it’s a hard night for you, but bokuto reminds you of how beautiful you are. word count. 1K pairing. bokuto koutarou / reader playlist. say so x goodnight n go x 34+35 x honey tags/warnings. domestic fluff, body image insecurities, implied nudity + notes. credits to @ris.writes on tiktok for this little thing that’s really helped me with my own body image insecurities <3 LMAO IDK IF ANYONE IS AWAKE BUT THIS HAS BEEN ON MY MIND FOR A WHILE <////3
Tumblr media
“Can I come in?” Bokuto hums, knocking on the door.
Swallowing deeply, you don’t want to turn down your boyfriend. It’s not like you don’t want to shower with him because you do, you really do. As you stare at the mirror, every angle and curve looks so wrong in your sight, distorted by your thoughts. You’re unflattering to look at, light playing on you like you’re in the hall of mirrors. In a way, you feel like a filter has been plastered on yourself, meant to turn your mind into a hellhole. It’s like your reality has smacked into yourself, reminding you of your flaws.
Your reply is strained as you grab a towel from the rack, tugging it around your frame. “Sure, come in, just give me a second.”
Ah, you’re fucked, you realize right as he enters the shower, because your boyfriend has the emotional awareness of an owl, able to pick up on everything. It’s why everyone gives up on surprising him because he just knows everything without even needing to ask. For him, you’re an open book, which is why you’re going to have to figure out how to navigate your way around his keen intelligence because you really don’t want to bring attention to your issues tonight — or ever.

types of girls
jupiter: denim overalls, untied shoelaces, and the scent of freshly mowed grass on a sunday afternoon. her voice is sweet and tangy like lemonade and she’ll kiss you on the forehead in both greeting and goodbye. fall in love with jupiter, and your hand will never go unheld again.
neptune: delicate golden jewelry, blueberry jam, and the first drop of rain before a storm. she will draw you in with the promise of answers to her enigma but will continue to keep you on your toes until your feet cramp. fall in love with neptune, and you will question your existence with the most delicious kind of doubt.
mars: electric guitars, california poppies, and a theater thick with silence, waiting for the show to begin. she can love with both the fury of a forest fire or the reassurance of a hearth, but you won’t know which until you wake up beside her. fall in love with mars, and you will know neither peace nor boredom until the day she leaves you without once looking back.
venus: cherubs, lotus blossoms, and coffee with too much cream. with a gaze softer than a mother’s, she’ll seek out your imperfections and perfect them with one word— “mine.” fall in love with venus, and you will fall in love with the world.
saturn: champagne, a crumpled playbill, and the first three hours of new year’s day, when the air still reeks of possibility. she will take you to a michelin bistro just to order spaghetti marinara and blow spitballs into the waiter’s hair. fall in love with saturn, and you will begin to laugh as easy as you breathe.
uranus: stained glass, wild irises, and a cold gust of air sweeping down from the peaks of a mountain range. each of her kisses taste like spearmint and steel, and it’s inexplicably addictive. fall in love with uranus, and silence will no longer be lonely.
mercury: fresh linen sheets, potted succulents, and pancake batter just poured on the griddle. when you cry, she will wipe your tears with the sleeve of her sweater and quietly hum a song you don’t know while you choke down your sobs. fall in love with mercury, and you will sleep soundly.
pluto: amethyst geodes, copper keys, and the hushed laughter of lovers in a library. her eyes will find yours across a crowded room and sing melodies only your soul can hear. fall in love with pluto, and you will finally have a secret worth keeping.
i know this is not my usual content, but i had to write it.

I swear if my messaging, inbox, and ask box aren’t gonna get fixed, I’m just gonna make a new blog and put all of my stuff on there. This is ridiculous because everything worked a few months ago.

What unit of work r u in? Im an engineer so Idrk much about medical stuff but isn’t it like emergency, intensive care?, and uh...family practice...? Might be wrong, but either way ur a hero and I thank u for that. I’m social distancing and taking science seriously, and I wish others would as well :(
I work on a cardiac unit. We get a lot of cardiac patients from open-heart surgeries to heart failure patients. We get a lot of patients who don’t need to be in ICUs but are too sick to be in medical-surgical units. Cardiac was never my strong suit during nursing school and now I can’t stop thinking about it! We’ve also been a covid unit since March.
Thank you for social distancing and doing what you can! Every little bit helps to stop this global pandemic!

Dumb question but from personal experience, are there major differences between what a nurse vs nurse anesthetist does? Obviously education is different but just in terms of what’s done in the hospital?
So to become a nurse, you can either get a degree through a community college nursing program or get a bachelor’s degree in nursing. All you need to do is to pass nursing school and get your NCLEX (easier said than done). There are all kinds of nurses, but I think what you’re asking about is bedside nursing. We do a lot of things like administer medication, take vitals, talk to doctors, etc. On the other hand, nurse anesthetists need master's degree because they are advanced practice RNs. They also get a certification to be a nurse anesthetist. Obviously from the name, they can administer anesthesia and other medications and they monitor patients on anesthesia. They are more centered around patients who are under anesthesia so you will see them a lot in surgeries or intensive care units.
I hope that answered your question! I don’t really know much about nurse anesthetists because I don’t plan on going to school for it. Let me know if you have any other questions!

(I don’t think u have messaging option on so I couldn’t pm u) So uh u don’t have to read this but I am so scared to enter nursing school. I’m not in it yet, but basically I struggled academically in high school (loaded on APs I wasn’t interested in and expected too much of myself). I didn’t get bad grades by any means, but I didn’t do too well mentally. I got pretty much straight As until junior year when I dealt with some bullying, which is when they went down immensely. So I ended up graduating a year early and I will be entering community college this January, and then I plan to transfer to a more competitive university for the remaining three years in 2021-2022 school year. Do you have any tips for surviving it, or any personal experience to share? I do well with memorization, but I’m just terrified in general. Sorry for the bother, but you just seem really experienced and I guess that was comforting to me🥺 (but no rush, I know right now is super challenging and stressful so I understand if u choose not to answer)
I think I have my messaging option on? But sending me an ask is totally okay too!
That’s how I was during high school too. A lot of the AP classes that I took only helped me in my first year of college because I tested out of a lot of classes, but didn’t really help much in nursing school (shocker). It is a great idea to start off in community college especially since a lot of universities are going online. I started my first two years of college at my local community college and let me tell you, I saved A LOT of money because of the classes I tested out of and I was basically taking the same classes as my other friends, but I didn’t have to pay as much as they did. So I definitely encourage people to go to community college during their first to the second year of college to get all of your gen eds done. Also, research if your community college has a bridge program that will help you get your RN during community college and then bridge you to a university to get your Bachelor’s (that is what a few of my friends did). I went to a school that was exclusively a nursing school because I wanted a school that was more focused on nursing than anything else.
For tips, memorizing is an awesome skill to have, but it’s only going to get you so far in nursing school. You will learn how to critically think and you will gain that skill as you gain more experience. Memorization helped a lot with classes at the beginning of nursing school, but you need to “memorize” the information and also apply that to your different scenarios and patients. 1) NOTECARDS. Start off with making note cards (they were a live saver when I needed to study before a test especially ones where I have a lot of memorization). 2) NOTES. Have a note-taking system that works for you. I LOVE colors so all of my notes are very colorful and it really helps me process the information. 3) FRIENDS. Find a group of people that are in the same major as you because they are going through the same things you are and you guys are studying the same thing. They will be your ride or die because they are going to be your study buddies through it all. Make sure you pick the good ones! 4) PLANNER. Have an academic planner with you to make sure you schedule anything and everything. You don’t want to panic or do something at the last minute because you forgot to write it down in your planner.
Don’t be afraid. College was so much fun and I’ve made so many lifelong friends along the way. I actually helped one of my friends get a job on my unit and they start next week. Don’t be afraid to message me with anything else! I’m happy to answer when I get the chance!

Do u regret picking nursing as a major or ever wish u chose something else? Just in general, not just in light of the COVID stress packed on?
Covid started right when I got my first job as a nurse and it was a huge struggle especially when I was still learning to be a nurse and now there’s this full blown pandemic going on. The stress would gnaw at my brain every chance it got and it still does. I would stay up all night thinking about every little thing I did and get up in the morning and do it all over again. On good days, I would go home, eat dinner, and go to sleep. On bad days, I go home and cry myself to sleep.
But would I pick a different major? Fuck no.
You’ll hear this a lot but nurses are a different kind of breed. Nurses see the best and worst side of people. Nurses have the biggest hearts and probably the most bad ass people you will ever know. We will stand up and advocate for our patients (we aren’t scared of talking back to doctors or family members that go against our patient’s wishes). We will be your family while you’re at the hospital (especially now that a lot of hospitals are restricting visitors). Nurses interact more with patients than doctors. Doctors look to us when they are asking about the patients and their health. Nurses gain a lot of knowledge and understanding just from patient interaction and bedside care.
So do I regret picking nursing as a major? He’ll no. Do I ever wish I chose something else? Not in a million years.
I went into nursing thinking that I want to help a lot of people to the best of my abilities. Could I have been a doctor or something else in the medical field? Sure I could have. But I don’t think I would have been satisfied. When you choose nursing, you’re not just choosing a major. Nursing is a passion that the rarest of people have.
(I love answering questions about nursing so please don’t be afraid to ask. If there’s something specific or general you guys want to know, feel free to send me something. I need something else to think about other than covid lol)
