‘Brother, My Brother’ Masterpost

Summary: Sherlock jumped. He fell. He died. That’s what everyone told you, anyway. Now, you’re living with Mycroft, the man who knows it’s all a lie but has to keep it from you nonetheless. How is he supposed to play older brother while knowing deep down that he’s doing it all wrong?

A/N: This is a story (not yet completed - I will update this each time a new chapter is posted) which focuses on the reader as the youngest Holmes and her ever-growing relationship with Mycroft after Sherlock’s supposed death at the end of season 2. Also features John, Greg, Molly, Mary, and Sherlock himself.

Chapter 1 - It’s been two hours since Sherlock was pronounced dead, and nobody has told you yet.

Chapter 2 - Unless you have proof that Sherlock is dead, what is there to believe? Mycroft finds out the hard way.

Chapter 3 - You take a cab to the hospital in the hopes of finding Sherlock’s body, but somebody’s already there to stop you.

Chapter 4 - Both you and John see each other for the first time since Sherlock’s death.

Chapter 5 - The day of Sherlock’s funeral has arrived.

Chapter 6 - It’s your first time back at Baker Street since Sherlock’s death.

Chapter 7 - You visit your family home with Mycroft and John, but it seems you can never get away from memories of Sherlock.

Chapter 8 - Mycroft and John take you to the theatre, but trouble seems to follow you everywhere.

Chapter 9 - A nightmare plagues your sleep, resulting in some much-needed comfort from your eldest brother, and John and Mycroft talk.

Chapter 10 - While Mycroft goes back to work for the day, you see your friends for the first time in almost a month. When he comes home, he gets a phone call from an unknown number.

Chapter 11 - You meet with John for an early exchange of Christmas presents and then have an interesting discussion with Mycroft. Things are looking up.

Chapter 12 - A magical white Christmas with Mycroft is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Chapter 13 - Both you and Mycroft spend the day celebrating Sherlock’s birthday.
