OMG happy birthday to my favorite, Jaehee Kang. I was so scared Cheritz was going to forget her, but they came through with this perfection. This is an amazing picture for her, and I love that it actually includes things we’ve heard about her. Full analysis below because I have to talk about this.
The thing I immediately noticed is this is the snowglobe Jaehee talks about in her Christmas dlc. As she describes in that call, they included the family of snowmen and its proportional size to herself. I love that Cheritz really looked into what we’ve already heard from Jaehee. I notice her birthday pictures are usually this well thought out. Also, if you look at the snowmen, they have the same color scarves to match Jaehee and her mom!
Obviously, Jaehee is adorable in this. We have almost no pictures of Jaehee from before C&R. With the theme of the year being younger versions of the mysme cast, I’m so happy with Jaehee’s. It perfectly encapsulates that childlike joy and wonder, and it’s clear why Jaehee holds this memory so fondly when she talks about it on call.
While I knew what was coming even from the preview, I am still devastated seeing Jaehee’s mom in the photo. We hear so little about her parents, and never see either of them in any of her previous photos. Even now she remains faceless, but it’s abundantly clear Jaehee takes after her mother. I can’t help but wonder if post Jaehee route, when she was growing out her hair again, if she ever saw her mother in herself.
I absolutely love this photo of Jaehee, and I’m so happy to see a warm moment between her and her mom.

Rika Birthday Art 2023, general thoughts below
So, a new birthday post for Rika. I’m loving the theme of the member’s younger years, and I’ve loved all the ones so far. This one however felt a little off to me? Alongside the official Cheritz post saying that she loved going trick or treating with loved ones when she was younger, which is confusing because I thought her entire childhood was awful, I thought the artwork seemed a little inconsistent. Maybe it’s just a new style, but parts of the artwork feel almost ai.
Maybe I’m looking too much into it, but the right side of her face looks almost fuzzy and the linework is unfocused on her neck. I can’t tell if her sleeve is just awkwardly around the pumpkin or if the pumpkin is just clipping into it? Hands are usually a give away, but her costume covers them. It just looks different from the past artwork this year, but maybe a different artist drew this. I don’t ever want to hate on real artwork, and I still think it’s cute seeing Rika happy.

Mystic Messenger Yoosung oneshot with really no plot T_T
No pronouns mentioned for reader.
1040 Words
--------------------------------------------------
Two weeks into a limited-time, special LOLOL event, Yoosung had yet to leave his bedroom for anything other than using the bathroom and buying snacks. With school being out on break, he didn’t need to worry about the constant distraction of missing assignments, and he fully planned to take advantage of that. His only problem was, well you, in a way. He absolutely loved you, but couldn’t you stop calling him every hour to try and get him outside.
For the third day in a row, you were absolutely persistent in getting the poor boy outside, and he was trying his hardest to avoid doing so. It wasn’t that he disliked going outside; in the past he had joined several clubs that focused on the outdoors, such as the gardening club (boring), the backpacking club (too many bugs), and the rock climbing club (terrifying). He just really needed the limited time character and armor set the game was offering over the course of the 22-day event. A few weeks of poor hygiene would definitely be worth it, if only you agreed.
As if you could tell he was thinking about you, Yoosung’s phone began to ring as your image popped up on the screen. Luckily, Yoosung wasn’t in the middle of anything that required both hands on the keyboard, so he answered the cheery ringtone.
“Yoosungieee, whatcha up to?” Hearing the bubbly voice on the other side of the phone always uplifted Yoosung; he only wished it wasn’t always getting in the way of his gaming.
“Nothing much, still working on the new LOLOL stuff, but how bout’ you?” Yoosung asked hesitantly, as if scared this was another one of your schemes to get him out of the house.
“Good good, soooo, where are you in LOLOL right now?” The sudden question caught Yoosung off guard. He wondered why you would care considering that you had never played the game before and the information would therefore be useless. He answered anyway, hoping that maybe it was just you trying to show interest in something he likes.
“I’m in a place called Dunya Ruins. It’s a super cool place. I’m working on leveling up my characters so I had to go to a place with higher level enemies, but they’re-” Yoosung didn’t get to finish his sentence before you interrupted him.
“Nice, cool, that’s all. I just wanted to check up on you, byeee Yoosungiee!” With that you hung up before Yoosung even had a chance to say anything.
That was definitely strange. You and Yoosung called eachother often, and could sometimes talk for up to an hour, but you had never had a call as short as this one. Maybe you were busy? But what if you were mad at him? Should he call you back? What if you wanted to break up? Gaming momentarily forgotten, Yoosung began to imagine every possible reason you could have hung up. Scared that he had done something wrong, Yoosung told his teammates that he would be going AFK for a couple minutes before getting up to grab something to eat.
The poor college student he is, the only thing he had was instant noodles, but after digging around, he did manage to find a bag of Honey Buddha Chips in the back of his pantry. Luciel had given a crate full of them to him as a gift for helping him at Mint Eye, but Yoosung had already eaten most of them. He put his noodles in the microwave before grabbing the chips and returning to his computer. His food would be ready soon, so he figured he could just check who’s online and see if anyone wanted to challenge a nearby dungeon with him. One annoying person wouldn’t stop jumping around his avatar, but Yoosung ignored it to grab his sad, high-sodium meal.
Upon returning, Yoosung discovered that the annoying person was still there, but had now just positioned their avatar directly in front of his. The ridiculous gamertag and low-level convince Yoosung that this was just another noob hoping to gain something from him. A notification alerted him that the noob had messaged him. Opening the chatroom, he responded to the unknown player.
xXNot_a_NoobXx: yo yo, supaman yoosung!
Superman_Yoosung: wdyw
xXNot_a_NoobXx: wut
Superman_Yoosung: why u txting me
xXNot_a_NoobXx: bcuz u wont come outside
Yoosung was nervous now. How did they know him? What if someone from class had found him. Or maybe it was 707 trying to play a prank on him again.
Superman_Yoosung: wait, do i now you?
xXNot_a_NoobXx: know*
xXNot_a_NoobXx: and yes, i hope u know me
xXNot_a_NoobXx: considering i called you not twenty minutes ago
Called… Wait. Then it had to be you! But Yoosung thought you didn’t care for LOLOL, something about it being too complicated and time consuming.
Superman_Yoosung: (y/n)?
xXNot_a_NoobXx: ding ding ding
xXNot_a_NoobXx: u wouldnt come outside so ive entered your world of gaming
Superman_Yoosung: hw long hav u been playin
xXNot_a_NoobXx: 2 days ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That explained the low level, but the name?
Superman_Yoosung: Not a Noob?
xXNot_a_NoobXx: wut do you mean
xXNot_a_NoobXx: i like the name
Superman_Yoosung: -_-
xXNot_a_NoobXx: >\\\<
xXNot_a_NoobXx: i want 2 battle u
xXNot_a_NoobXx: if i win...
xXNot_a_NoobXx: you have to come out an hang out w me
Did you not realize that he was a significantly higher level than you. Yoosung wasn’t sure whether or not he should point this out. What if he beat you and then you decided you never wanted to play again? Maybe he should lose on purpose? No, losing to such a low-level player would definitely harm his ranking on the server.
Superman_Yoosung: ok let do it
xXNot_a_NoobXx: >>\\\<<
Long story short, Yoosung absolutely demolished you. You never stood a chance against his elite tier team and the fact that he actually knew the basics of the game. But he took pity on you, and he was overjoyed by the fact that you tried LOLOL just to get his attention. He called you shortly after to ask when and where you wanted to hang out. And from then on, you knew how to get the gaming addict Yoosung’s attention. The only downside is that he never lets you forget how bad you are at the game.
