How did it all begin? Like how did you get the idea, the iconic font, ect.?

I was a lil teenager in high school that was bored & had nothing better to do. I made a blog called “littlereasonstosmile” basically mentioning the little things in life that make me happy.

I ended up making an online friend named Jenna who was a fan of my other blog. When I think about it now it’s a little weird because she was at least 10 years older than me lol. Anyways, she wanted to work on a blog together, and we both decided we wanted to base a blog around the fun little things we were interested in. Together we came up with the name “justgirlythings” with the idea that we’d base it around all the fun stuff girls like to do.

For a while I used weheartit and come up with the text based on the pictures I found and liked, and with time we started taking submissions.

If I remember correctly, within that first week this blog had about 200k followers - INSANE.

I found the fonts through dafont.com, and if you look at really old posts you’ll see that I ended up changing a few fonts over time.

But yea, kinda weird to think about. I was just a little teenage girl with photoshop experience and a fun little outlet to spend my free time. 💗

This blog has always meant so much to me. Forever so grateful for you all 🫶🏼
