They save lives.

With guns, no one is well-regulated and no one has to take responsibility.

That increases death, suicides, violence and terror.

Gun sales need accountability. No more loopholes.

Two thoughts:

1. Cops have one of the most difficult and unpredictable jobs out there, and must constantly make judgment calls concerning the competing interests of protecting the public, instilling order on the scene, and ensuring their own safety.

2. Most (if not all) police departments are underfunded with respect to training and educational programs. Without effective and continued training, cops are left with the burden of trying to do their jobs without the necessary knowledge base, and the public is left with the burden of the inevitable negative consequences of lack of educational investment.

MONEY is the core of all problems we face today. Similar issues exist with funding in public schools. If we were to give teachers, police, firefighters and military personnel the funding they need to actually do their jobs effectively, a lot of these larger societal symptoms of the funding problem would go away.

Refresher Course - You will be matched round-robin style with another lawblr (mostly - I reserve the right to match two people exclusively where necessary for geography purposes). You will send someone one of your favourite books, and someone will send you one of their favourite books.

You will have the option of sharing an e-book or sending a physical book. Thriftbooks.com / Abebooks/ Amazon are all great resources for used books with cheap shipping rates. The trick is to buy from your recipients local amazon (ie. if you’re sending to germany, buy from german amazon)

You have to fill out the form here (x) - for those who have participated in previous years there’s an easy option to just reuse your submission from last year, but I need you to at least submit something so I know you’re participating

I’ve also now included a set of questions for people who have had past exchanges fall through. My goal is to match people up who have not sent a gift with someone who hasn’t received one, in the hopes that a little spoiling and good karma happens.
