Final Digital prints.
My final digital printw were inspired by a picture I took of my friends that qas quite blurry. I think this represented my theme of forgotten memory quite well. I first did a painting of this image a d tried to replicate how unfocused it was.
I then did a pen drawings of an info cushion photo from the same night. I manipulated the drawing in photoshop to try and make it as unclear and as unfocused as the painting that I did previously. I then bitmapped the image and screen printed it.
I printed a layer of coloured squares on top of the print to compliment the squares in the photoshopped image and to add another layer of confusion to the print.
For my final digital print I zoomed in on the main subject of the image and changed the saturation of the image.

Final Screenprint Edition
For my final screenprints I decided on a 2 colour print of boats around limerick. I used MRPVC to make two speed layers and exposed them both on to the same screen.
I went with an image of the boat because its a landscape that I associate with a lot of positive memories.

Final relief print.
For my final relief print I decided on a 3 colour lino reduction print of a washing machine. The reference for the print can be seen below.
I decided on this subject because it fits well with my theme of insignificant objects associated with memory.
I also changed the colours digitally after the print was finished, just to play around with other colour options.

Project Statement
I started my story project by looking at local stories and just general local gossip. This turned my attention to pubs and social gatherings in general because this is where people share stories more freely and it has a sense of community that I wanted to look at.
However this was hard to do in a Pandemic with social gatherings being basically non existent, so I started to focus on how people still socialize in covid times

Digital drawing over Suzannah's print. I have little to no experience with digital art so this was a challenge but I'm happy with how it turned out.

This is a self portrait that I did inspired by the results of eoins workshop that I attended.
It is also inspired by a picture that I took of myself while I was getting ready for a zoom call with friends. When looking at my project about pub culture and how its changed now in covid times, zoom calls with friends are a big part of that for me.

Acrylic painting.
Trying to explore pub culture in my project when all pubs are closed is obviously quite difficult. So I've started to look at how we drink and socialise now in lockdown. This painting depicts my sister drinking outside in our garden now that the weather is getting nicer.

I chose my still life to be a whiskey bottle and a glass because I wanted to relate my still life to my overall project of gossip and pub culture.
