History repeats it self. Only this time, there won’t be piles of burning books. This time, there will only be purges involving scientific studies regarding pollution (more especially climate change) because it goes against real intentions of the corporate polluters.

Assignment 4 - Self Portrait

This assignment was extremely daunting to me at first, because I have never been one to take too many selfies. After reading The Un-selfie article, I realized the reason behind my lack of desire to take selfies was deeper than I originally thought. That reason being, many times selfies are created with a facade of what the person wants people to see rather than their true self. I have always made an effort to be as authentic as possible with those I encounter including portraying myself on social media.
It is a photographers responsibility to create photos with intention, emotion, and depth to provoke the thoughts of each viewer. In taking these self portraits I was very intentional with creating an environment that I makes me happy and comfortable because I believe that alone speaks volumes about me as an individual. Many of these photos include the outdoors, and the beauty of springtime which brings me happiness. The last photo I included because I believe it draws out more vulnerability with deeper emotions and things I have (my plants) or do (meditate) to alleviate pain and stress. I hope you all enjoy!
