no!! but the way Maximus grew as a person because of Lucy!!
He was lost and full of hate and bitterness and was losing himself to the darkness of the worst of the Brotherhood of Steel because he thought that he belonged with them, for better or for worse. he still wanted to help people, but the BoS would have never allowed him to be that person and would have only fed his darker emotions
but when he met Lucy and connected with her, he was given the freedom to become a better version of himself, to see that there's a world beyond the BoS, beyond his pain
he found his purpose in just being with Lucy
he was able to smile, laugh, and dream of something more with Lucy
he found his home with her and he felt safe with her
