Sierra Deaton (ft. Ashton)

I decided to go ahead and make a smaller, but more continual post concerning things that Sierra has done, that don’t really warrant a full individual post in and of themselves. This isn’t going to be a concise list by any means, but more-so just a compilation of things that may or may not mean something, but that are interesting nonetheless. Potential little coins into the bucket of evidence, I suppose. As always, long posts will be under the cut, so keep reading if ya like!

DISCLAIMER: At the time of creating this post (at the very beginning of May), my opinions were different from what they currently are. I didn’t initially believe that Lierra was a PR stunt; I simply thought that Sierra was making her friendship out to be something it wasn’t, as well as stirring the pot for attention and relevancy from the fans. However, due to the evidence that’s arisen since June 15th - the album release date - I do now believe that Lierra is PR in addition to stirring the pot for attention, due to reasons I cover in my other posts. I’m adding a disclaimer, rather than editing this entire post, because it serves as a good example of where my line of thinking was at the time, based on the evidence that I had to work with.

Lierra engagement

Okay, so funny thing happened with Luke actually. I was thinking about it and it clicked today. Normally like with when he and Sierra announced they were dating, or when Michael announced his engagement, it’s right before they start promoting for tours or albums. That always kind of made the relationships seem fake or more like, the relationships exist to promote the music. 

But because the tour doesn’t start till Nov 2021 I thought the engagement legitimated Lierra really well. Like I was wrong to doubt the story, even if 5sos might do a couple interviews end of summer come fall, it still seemed isolated enough from the business and music and getting attention for upcoming stuff. And then it turns out they’d waited some months to announce...and then three weeks later Luke announces his own stuff....idk. It was feeling unpromotional and maybe they were just enjoying their engagement privately, and not it feels more promotional and PR-y again. Maybe it just happened the stars aligned such that they decide to publicize their engagement, and then because of deals in business Luke made, the album gets announced when it did. 

Not sure what your views are on PR stunts from Modest (I would respect what you think) but to me it looks like he is trying to excite fans with the engagement so his album gets attention and sells. I don’t know. It all makes me a little queasy. Feel free to send in your own thoughts, I’m sure we’ll see more to swing it in one direction or another as the months go.

I woke up to a friend texting me about this man’s new song. He is a wonderful human being who feels his suffering very acutely. That he chooses to be so vulnerable with us is going to help a lot of people. There’s a lot of shame surrounding failure to be able to control your eating, but it’s not an isolated accident if you get one. In the US, one out of every four girls are going to develop eating disorders. And probably many more than that wonder if they look good and don’t feel right in their own body. A lot of men don’t feel good in their bodies either. It’s really hard. See what’s there in your reflection is part of the divine creation, and you’re just as beautiful and needed as Ashton Irwin. Ashton who would smash your mirrors if he could make the hurt go away.

Lie to Me Theory: The Trouble with New York

So why did these lyrics stand out so much in LTM theory: 

Flashing back to New York City                                                                      Change your flight so you stay with me

Because it was suggesting who the pre-chorus was for. 

This is that video with the proof for the NYC part of the theory: The Meme Review with 5SOS. So Luke did panic when someone couldn’t get on a plane from New York.

There’s an interpretation from this. Apparently Luke really freaked out when everything seemed to be going well, and then there was a mess up with passports but everything was okay, and he thought that brief separation was the worst things could be, but it was nothing compared to how bad their situation in comparison later when he flashed back to that moment.
