Piktober Day 3 New Friends

Out of all the games Pikmin 1 will forever be my favorite in pikmin introductions.

Something about Olimar having a different reaction to each onion he finds is so charming! He also gets a mini development learning to back away overtime. Louie's reaction in 2 is a very close second for how absolutely goofy it is, wished he got more moments like that during the game.

Ignore me using the P4 onion being used here, didn't feel like drawing the patterns-

Disgaeatober Day 3

Future XENO Sicily

Joining late on Disgaeatober this year! XENO Sicily has been on my lockscreen for maybe over 2 years. I always loved the dark witch/magic girl outfit she has and it was fun to design her older fit!

I wanted to edit more of the XENOs as they came out since they had a special intro when initially opening DRPG after an update but forgot- uhh

Oatchi Be Zoomin on the Highway of the Gay!

Joined in on Piktober this year! Already skipped a day so that I could prepare for the month

I was going to draw them in a cave and animate stars but Mario Kart Double Dash's rainbow road is on the mind for some reason... This is more fun too

I love the little wing design you gave Bernard, it's so cool. Are you ok with ppl taking inspiration/using the design with credit, or would you rather people not do that?

Thank you! Read a fic that gave him wings and I got inspired to give him something similar. I'll keep workshopping the wing design since there are a lot of cool patterns I wanna try out~

And yes I'm happy to see others gaining inspiration from or using my ideas! When it comes to fandom designs and concepts, I like to blow it to the wind and see where it goes. I won't ask people to credit me unless they're straight up using my art or OCs (I guess Heeler could count but I'm not strict about those kind of ocs)

I love the idea of leafling scars!! Such a cool idea but I’ve never seen anyone draw anything life that! Maybe I’m biased because I like Bernard.

Had this idea brewing since the game came out and there are SO many ways it could be applied to imply extra stories for Bernard and the castaways! I have no idea when else I'll be able to talk about this in length so thank you for sending this I can finally ramble!!!

To summarize:

Cured castaways are left with vine stitches that protect and keep together any internal or external injuries (may or may not disappear once the injury is fully healed)

The pikmin parasite potencially focuses on the head to control the host

The longer they're a leafling the more vibrant the hue left on the skin is. (I wasn't sure how much of a tomato Olimar would be)

Flowers can bloom in their leafy coats

Despite being brought into the same Onion they have different types of leaves/vines/flowers

I left it ambiguous whether or not castaways are still being healed after they've been turned into leaflings

Other info and ideas I didn't include:

A lot of times the plant grown will be poisonous ie. a yellow leafling grows buttercups. This is to protect them from predators.

Marks resembiling their leafling eyes might be visible on their corneas

Drinking nectar gives them a similar effect to the pikmin; blooming flower, faster speed (maybe strength? forgot if that's boosted), they also get "extra lives" but their pain receptors are more sensitive than the pikmin so they get temporarilly incapacitated for longer

Keeping it ambiguous if castaways are straight up revived from the dead or need to be brought in while they're still hanging on (there's so much story potential if theres a time limit tho!)

They might be able to use the vines as a second limb (I accidentally drew Olimar's vine too low so he probably has a vine tail now)

Dunno if I did Yonny's speech pattern justice here (still experimenting) but-

I REALLY wished we could've gotten notes from Yonny about this since he got to see them up close. And dang it I'm really curious about how the leaflings work, I get that they're all dandori n stuff but what if the pink ones can fly or the purple ones are stronger. Maybe all of them except blue leaflings get hurt by water.

So many questions and no answers, and so much design and story potential!!!

This was a pretty fun way to start drawing the castaways too. Now I'm really tempted to draw everyone's leafling forms (I may have already picked flowers for the rescue corps team based on their symbolism)

Pikmin Dog Corner

Showing my appreciation to the dogs, and yes I'm including bulbmin and no one can stop me! >:D

Started out with me being curious how Kamatha would look like in pikmin dog form and I just kept drawing more dogs. Kinda self inserting here since I don't see any existing character asking how these noseless doggos work.

Oatchi's ear fluffs and cheeks got increasingly fluffier as I went

Rescue Corps pt.1

Wanted to practice drawing Shepherd and Yonny with curly/coily hair and ended up drawing the entire team! Braided hair is always fun to draw and the curly bangs feel right. I'm still making the part two to this- got really into the shading/coloring process so it's taking longer than expected

Style kept changing so their heights are nowhere near what I imagine it to be. I might do a height chart to reference later...

Usalia's Card Game

Drew this for someone who really likes the bunny girl~ Mei is a fantastic artist so I figured I'd challenge myself with the perspective and new outfits. Needed to swap between Krita and Medibang to get this one done

The timelapse was so tedious to edit, Krita kept redoing the order of the screenshots every time I started a new session and left me to sort through every frame

He's Somewhere Out There

I wished that pikmin 4 had the weather changes, even if it was for one area. It could even act as another water hazard! Make some shaded areas to allow for other types to be utilized but hide them within puzzles so you'd have to earn it

(This is sounding like the 2nd half of the Garden of Hope but it works)

Working Round the Tree Bridge

Happy (late) 10th anniversary to Pikmin 3!

It's really been a decade since this game came out? These games are starting to make me feel old smh-

I waited a long while to play this on the switch a couple months ago (never got a Wii U) but the soundtrack has been saved on my phone since it originally came out if that counts. Alph's theme helps for the days where I just wanna rest and think silly thoughts
