I like going for the hybrid/plausible consistency approach. Was my character there? Who can say. The focus was on the heroes doing this thing, my character just happened to be out of frame. Why aren't they talked about in the main story? Do you talk about all of the people you know all of the time? Nah, my character is just chilling in the wings until the headcanon After Story DLC arrives.
