Oh My God, They Were Roommates

Pairing: Shinsou Hitoshi x Reader Genre: Fluff, Roommates AU Warning(s): None  Notes: I got the bold texts from a prompt list but i literally can’t find it anywhere so. whoops. repost because posting something at 8am does not get a lot of interactions apparently 😀

“Hey, so I didn’t know if you’d had dinner yet or not so I picked up takeout for you on my way back from work and…what are you doing?” Hitoshi had walked into your shared apartment carrying one of those icons bags with the smiley faces in his hand, only to see you laying down on the couch with a raccoon face mask on, a shirt that says “this guy loves his Karen”, the most god awful Star Wars leggings he’d ever seen, and bright pink bunny slippers. “I’m not even going to ask about the shirt.”

You didn’t respond as you shot up out of your seat to snatch the food out of his hands, a crazed grin on your face. It didn’t matter how long he’d been your roommate, your gremlin-like antics surprised him every time. He’d once made the joke that he shouldn’t feed you after midnight. He doesn’t think you appreciated it considering the fact that you bit him. Hitoshi had never met someone as eccentric as you and even since you two became roommates, he can’t have normal conversations. Not that he preferred normal conversations over your ramblings about how fish don’t have the brain capacity for feelings.

“Thanks for the food, Hitoshi. I’d probably starve to death if you weren’t around to feed me 3 meals a day, Hitoshi. I don’t know what I’d do without you, Hitoshi.” He said in a high pitched voice, mimicking you as he followed you to the small, circle dining table placed between the kitchen and living room of your open floor apartment.  He plopped down onto one of the chairs, “I just want to be appreciated for being your caretaker. Is that too much to ask?”

You’d been shoveling food into your mouth the entire time he’d been talking. “Thanks for babysitting me, Toshi.” You said with a full mouth. Hitoshi chuckled, shaking his head.

“I’ve never seen someone look so cute and ridiculous at the same time.” He mused.

You swallowed you food, “And I ain’t never seen two-”

“Don’t finish that sentence.”

“-pretty best friends.” You finished, a smirk on your face.

Hitoshi groaned loudly and lightly slammed his head into the table. Why were you like this? “You’re lucky you’re cute,” He turned his head upwards, his chin resting on the table. “Otherwise I would’ve packed my shit and moved out a long time ago. You drive me insane.” He watched you chew your food slowly. It seemed that you were taking a moment to let his words sink in.

“Are you flirting with me?” You looked dumbfounded.

“You finally noticed?”

You were suddenly shy. In all the time that Hitoshi has known you, you’ve never been shy around him, save for the time you first met. You’d finished your food and started cleaning up, “How long have you been flirting with me?”

Hitoshi sat up in his seat and helped you clean up the table, taking the trash from you to throw away. “Hm, a few months now, I’d say.” He answered truthfully. He’d liked you longer than that but didn’t have the courage to act on his feelings till then. Up until recently, he’d thought you just didn’t reciprocate his feelings. Then he realized just how oblivious you were when he watched some random guy flirt with you while the two of you visited a cafe.

He watched as you peeled the sheet mask off your face and plopped it into the trash. You rubbed any excess serum into your skin and went back to the couch, plopping down to watch reruns of Family Feud, him following suit. “Well, I think you’re cute too.” You kept your eyes trained on the TV, too nervous to make eye contact with him. He subtly moved his hand towards yours and lightly pressed his knuckles against your own. Hitoshi grinned when he felt you intertwine your fingers with his. It wasn’t like you just professed your undying love for him or anything like that, but holding your hand in his soothed his worries about not having a chance with you. The two of you watched TV in comfortable silence.

“Were you serious about moving out because I drive you insane?”

“Huh? Oh, hell no. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Yeah here’s a hot take: Dabi is still in the wrong.

Yes, he was abused. No one is contesting that and I am certainly never going to excuse or invalidate abuse seeing as I was a victim of it as well. But holy shit, some of y’all are legit out here defending Dabi wanting to murder Shouto and Endeavor, defending him murdering civilians, just because he had a really shitty upbringing. To break it down for you guys and gals, here’s the sitch:

Just like the rest of the League of Assholes, regardless of their past traumas and injustices, MURDER IS STILL MURDER, NO MATTER HOW YOU ATTEMPT TO JUSTIFY IT. I’m sick to death of people woobifying the villains and listing a million bullshit reasons as to why they’re the ones in the right, that their mass slaughter and wanton destruction is justified.

Newsflash - it isn’t. It never was and never will be. Just because they might have good points, or valid issues with society does NOT give them the right to obliterate it. To murder and ruin the lives of thousands of people. Dabi wanting to murder Shouto and Endeavor isn’t ok, regardless of how he feels.

TLDR: the League of Assholes is still the League of Assholes and Dabi is still a fucking murderer regardless of his reasons so stop sucking his burnt dick
