Philip’s Sabotaged Portal Instructions?

Obsessed with the thought from @milly-the-devil that Philip, knowing ‘Luzura’ was interested in his journal and how to make a portal, intentionally left his diary in the Bonesborough library for her. And that he deliberately sabotaged the instructions, expecting Luz to find the diary, follow them, and get into trouble because of whatever dilemma Philip set her up to create. That spiteful, petty fucker… So immature but also so fiendishly clever and exactly the kind of mind games and two-steps-ahead thinking he’d do. Reading people like a book and using their desires against them, and Luz was already pretty open as-is!

For all we know, it wasn’t JUST that he didn’t have someone, be it the Collector or King’s father, to help him; Philip’s instructions were set up to fail. And that might be why they opened to that weird space between realms; Maybe Philip hoped to trap Luz there, and then later check on to see how his guinea pig fared, record the results, etc. Or he was concerned that HE might end up trapped there, so Philip set it up for someone else to find and save him… Only to eventually find a way out of his own, because nobody saved him; And that just further embittered him. And it’s another reason why he didn’t start taking over the isles until recently.

After all, the portal that Luz made collapsed in on itself… If it weren’t for her family, she could’ve been stuck there! Philip you devious bastard… And given the code SEEK THE KEY FEAR THE LOCK, I wonder if there’s still another trap he set up, possibly in his own Portal he’s repaired! And Belos has read Luz’s attempts to return home like a book, maybe setting Luz up to try to use his Portal for herself, only to be hurt and/or bear the consequences for him… Because that’s what everyone is, right; A sacrifice. Or more accurately, a test subject, a diversion; An expendable meat shield.

Makes me wonder if there are other traps in that journal, that Philip has set up Luz to unknowingly create for herself… I hope that whoever helped Phil will clear and call out the discrepancies, and show Luz how to make a safe portal. Assuming they don’t add their contribution without realizing her portal is flawed to begin with, and unleashing ANOTHER type of danger…
