Hey! My dreams are coming true - I’m visiting Georgia and Armenia this summer… I’m so excited.
I can’t visit the North Caucasus as I once planned, but I’m traveling North of Tbilisi to Pankisi Gorge to see some of Georgia’s Chechen communities.
For someone that’s been admiring the Caucasus from afar on your blog, this is a big deal to me. Pls never stop posting
Thats amazing🥳 I'm sure you'll enjoy, especially during the summer is the best time to visit. let me know if you need help in the future for north Caucasus’ visit. ill be glad to help
Is it safe to visit the caucasus as a jewish visitor?
Yes. Actually we have Caucasian Jews and they are part of us. Many of them have left to Israel though.
Overall it is safe to visit, but it would be better to go if you know someone there already… like a local friend. This way you can get information for any details related to a particular area where you are planning to go.
Tumblr is one of the very few apps that I'm using, and it's nice to have a blog about Caucasus here, especially the North part of it (since I live here, in KBR). It makes me happy to see that the english speaking community gets to see the beauty of my homeland. Stay healthy!
Very true. I’ve lived for almost a year in KBR and I want to admit that the nature and beauty of your homeland is hard to describe through pictures. Its just wow !
The perspective you give on these topics, that I would otherwise have no view of, is fascinating.
Thank you! That’s the main point. I started this blog because it was hard to find an image of Caucasus (especially in English language) as I want to see it-strong, honorable, bright. That is why I don’t post often because I deliberate on content.
What do you think about Western people (I think it's mainly just the English speaking places) calling all Europeans and Western people Caucasian?
I was surprised when I’ve found this out, not in a bad way but it was just strange. I studied in the US, and I remember in one of my classes some girl mentioned about her Caucasian background, so I decided that she is actually from Caucasus, but it turned out she only meant she’s “white”.
Is it possible for a non Caucasian, Christian, male to marry a Caucasian woman?
Yes. even though it’s not common but there are families which are okay with that. Plus, there are Christian Caucasians: Georgians, Armenians, and almost 80% of Ossetians and Abkhazians.
