Nana, the polar bear born in Hannover Zoo. It was always a lot of fun to watch her play, before she got sent to another zoo. Luckily the remaining polar bears are also very playful at the moment :)

I love filling pages with plants and little guys. I need to do that more often. One of my favorite sketchbook spreads of last year! This year I'm focussing on improving my Gouache skills. I'd love to be able to do something like this in color one day!

No talons, but a cute face..
Trying hard to finally shake the grip realism / references have on me. This came out a bit odd, but I kind of like it.

Testing out a set of coloured pencils I got myself this month and I love the more natural palette. Finally I have some warm brown tones!

For some reason, loose paper scares me more than my sketchbooks.

A sketchbook spread from August I still like a lot. I enjoyed not posting anything the last months, just taking time to experiment and try new things

Mallard Duck Gouache studies. Finally covered the last of my ugly old sketchbook swatch pages with these two, it's all clean fear-inducing white from here on out, yay!

Studying Gouache recently gave me a bunch of ideas how I can improve quick watercolour sketches and how to approach colours, light, saturation etc. Did not expect that!

I wanted to paint this seal photo ever since I sketched it a few posts back (almost a year ago now x_x). I thought this was a bad attempt until I added some orange pencil in the end. Painted over an old sketchbook page again, so there's bits showing through.. Painting rocks is my biggest struggle still for some reason...

I haven't shared much recently, which was fully intentional, there's a lot I want to figure out at the moment. But here's a small glimpse, I have always wanted to figure out Gouache and how to mix colors and all that spooky stuff. So that's where I'm at and I am happy about my progress so far! I'm also in the process of painting over a watercolor sketchbook I had given up on years ago, so there are a couple of things shining through in the background. It feels so good to finally cover it up as much as I can!

woke up one day and decided I wanted to draw a whole page of meerkats. it was very relaxing to not have to think about what to draw next! Stickers and washi on the bottom right corner came from a bubblesartcraft order
