I decided I also wanted to show off my first daughter - Antigone. My first spiders were all named after Wooden Overcoats characters, because it's cute and fun. Antigone is a Regal Jumper (P. Regius) like Annabelle, but she's a North Florida and absolutely stunning, and I love her. She's a big ol' chunky gal and we love her.
2nd photo is obligatory watching YouTube lean photo. She Loves videos.

This is one of my current major hyperfixations - Jumping spiders. I literally saw them on TikTok, decided to research the heck out of their care, found a nearby locally owned small business run by hardcore enthusiasts, and decided to get One. One little boy. I left with him, and his sister :) What was meant to be 1 [One] spider is now 10. From Teeny babies to grouchy old men, I got em all now. I even have one that's hopefully gonna pop an egg sac out soon. I'm thriving on these little fellows, make decorations for them for my etsy (RufflesAndFluffles.etsy.com) and tbh my life has been thrown into the shitter as of the last few years and these tiny faces have given me a reason to get out of bed in the morning, cause who else would spend time with these little angels otherwise? This is Annabelle. All my spiders are named after Podcast characters, Annabelle is the first of my Magnus spiders. I'm a basic bitch and I'm proud. She has a tiny dressing room with book shelves as her enclosure, and she is so curious. She is a Phidippus Regius, Sierra de Baoruco locality, Regal Jumping Spider. She Loves to watch YouTube or Movies with me, that last photo is her leaning to get a better view of the 1st monitor. She's also a Huge waver, she Dances when she's out of her tank.
Maybe I'll post some of my other children idk

NIMOOONAAAAAAA
watched the movie ! now i must emotionally recover from this !
god this movie hit me like a sack of rocks in a sock, when i watched it for the second time with my parents i was so happy to see them get into it as much as i did, see them laugh at the same parts i did, as well as cry when i did. See them speculate and ask questions just for me to shrug and not give anything away, when my mom first saw Nimona come on screen she asked "do you wanna cut your hair like that ?" and i love her for that ! ive always been adventurous with my hair and seeing my mom find a style she'd think id like was heart warming, and seeing both my parents awe at the relationship between Ambrosius and Bal mad me so happy, my mom commented on how theyre such a cute couple at the end ! my dad also now wants the comic book ! and a sequel and tbh so do i, this movie was such a joy to watch, seeing myself in aspects of the characters really just hit. I cried so hard the first time i got a headache, ,

So, I've just released another little volume of Spectral Tales (where I do readings of old ghost stories) and the main story for this one is The Willows by Algernon Blackwood. Now, I love the story - it's just two hours of a pair of Edwardians sitting in a swamp saying
"Are the vibes are off?"
"Yes the vibes are off."
But the thing I cannot get over is that the narrator, throughout the whole thing, through every weirdness and mortal danger, only ever refers to his intimate travelling companion (which I obviously read as gay) as "The Swede". I don't know why this delights me - it just feels like so much like your friend whose dating a bunch of guys and is telling you about their spooky swamp holiday and you're like "sorry, you were with who?" And they're like "you know, the swede" and I dunno, it just delights me.
Anyway, if you want to have a listen you can get it here (cause obviously this is also a promotional post). Oh, and it's currently Bandcamp Friday, so I get a bit of extra cash if you pick it up today!

Sea chest becket, made by a Sailor, early 20th century
Decorative ropework or macrame is one of the oldest forms of folk art. The average sailor learned a complete repertoire of intricate knots and fancy ropework. Ropework served utilitarian purposes by improving the handling of objects aboard vessels. For instance, handrails entwined with cord reduced slippage in wet weather, while fancy knots on bell rope gave the ringer a better grip.
When seafarers had free time, especially in good weather, they might craft rope handles, or beckets, to fasten at either ends of a chest for lifting and transporting. Handles provided strength, flexibility, and decoration. These loops were often elaborately crafted with intricate knots, then waxed or painted, fastened to wooden cleats, and attached to a chest with screws or nails.

a few reminders because i’m tired and angry
fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism
adult women aren’t inherently creepy for being in fandom and having hobbies apart from raising babies and doing taxes
the vast majority of people pushing back against the worrying trend of instigating harassment over fictional characters and relationships aren’t incest supporters or pedophiles, actually
liking a m/f ship doesn’t make someone a dirty heterosexual invading your space
preferring gay ships doesn’t make you ‘’woke’’ and good
no one owes you a disclaimer that they are a good person who recognizes that their favorite fictional villain’s actions are evil and that they don’t condone those actions irl
liking a fictional villain is in no way comparable to advocating abuse/murder/genocide/etc and you’re a fucking idiot if you believe that
just because a woman is attracted to a fictional villain doesn’t mean she’s promoting toxic relationships or going to end up in a toxic relationship. assuming women can’t tell fiction and reality apart stinks of internalized misogyny
some rando’s a/b/o fanfics have none of the level of influence that popular tv shows and movies spreading propaganda have
no one owes you a detailed description of their traumas and mental health problems
abusive relationships are not the same as enemies to lovers ships
y’all need to chill the fuck out over people, relationships, actions and events that don’t actually exist and learn how to enjoy and discuss them like normal people
fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism
feel free to add more
