text: When they said that I had cancer the only thing I wanted to do was go to you. Not even to tell you but just to go back to the time when I felt the most right. Because being with you has always felt that way. I would have done anything to just crawl into your bed and have you hold me. The doctor was just going on about stages and treatments and I couldn't hear a word of it because I just thought if I could be there in your arms then I would be safe. When I got to the car I thought about calling you but then I just knew I couldn't. How could I when I pushed you away and now just because I need someone for my own shit I come back demanding your attention? That wouldn't be fair to you. But there was also a selfish reason why I didn't call you and tell you. Because there was a part of me that feels like it would be harder with you. I know how you would be. You'd be attentive. You'd be there for me. You take me to chemo and you'd research the right questions to ask the doctors. You'd be the perfect support system. Why wouldn't I want that? Because I can't let myself love you more than I already do. I wouldn't be able to hide it anymore. Then you would know and you would have me completely in a way I don't think anyone else can. You'd have a power over me that I swore I would never give any man. I swore I would learn from my mother's mistakes. She may be hard but I still see the pain in her that my father left. How as much as she hates him that brokenness is because she will always love him. I can't risk that chance because I know. I know you'd be that for me. The one that would take a part of me and I'd never get it back.

I can only do this with you because I trust you more than anyone else so don't give me a reason to stop.

Kendall scoffed as he spoke, taking a step back to break off the contact. Running a hand through her hair, she shook her head. She hated that she was failing this. Making her feel like she was incapable of what a normal night should be. “Yes it is! That is literally the whole fucking basis of this relationship. You use me to take your sexual desires out on and I say yes. Pretty simple formula to follow.”
