It has been a long time since I stopped updating this site and it has been a long time since I logged in, but I am very happy to know that many people have been looking at my work without interruption during that time.

I submitted a piece to Brain's zine a while ago and will be participating in another zine.

I have had fewer opportunities to draw illustrations for Kingdom Hearts, but I hope to gradually start drawing new pictures again.

Splatoon 3 is now available and I enjoy playing it every day.

If they were in the Splatoon world, Eraqus would be an octopus and Xehanort would be a squid.

It's fun to think about what Kingdom Hearts characters would be using as weapons if they played Splatoon.

Hoder gave me the impression that she was one of the purest KH characters, so I drew her as she is.

Vali hardly speaks at all, so I have not grasped her characterization. He could be a strict shinobi, but it is also possible that he is a gentle boy who talks with a little bird in a tree.

Bragi is..., I made an illustration of him with a hood over his head.

I really like Eraqus. Today I want to talk about what I like about him. This is something I have talked about several times before, but it is always very difficult to put into words even in Japanese. I am a little worried if I can write well in English, so I apologize if my sentences are strange or difficult to understand.

I think Eraqus believes in the light too much and is a bit arrogant. He believes that light is the righteousness and darkness is absolutely evil, that the guardian of light would never be devoted to darkness, that light cannot be defeated by darkness. But he embodies it and ultimately saves the world and his best friend as light.

No matter how many times Xehanort went down the path of darkness and showed himself to be hostile to Eraqus, Eraqus remained Xehanort’s friend and tried to stop him. He believed that Xehanort had not completely fallen into darkness and that Xehanort would always be next to him, the light. (You can read Master Erakus’ monologue in a newly written novel in the book Character Files. He talks about wanting to stop Xehanort all the time he was in Terra’s mind and says, “I have been next to you all along.”) Perhaps that image of Eraqus was too dazzling for Xehanort, who wanted to save the world by a different path than the light, and because of that they never got a chance to discuss their respective paths. However, Eraqus was able to save Xehanort in the end because of that.

In the new trailer for KHDR, we see Eraqus talking about how he wants to be a light. He also said that he would stop his best friend not as a master but as a friend. I was really happy about that. I was happy to know that he wished to be the light of his own volition, even though I sometimes doubted a little that he believed in the light because of his position as the legitimate successor or because of his childhood imprint.

His official profile also states that he acts like the class clown. As mentioned earlier, he is a strong man who strictly believes in the light and follows the path he believes in. However, in front of his classmates, he acts so cheerful and lighthearted that it could be taken as inappropriate. This is surely out of concern for those around him. With some children taking on heavy roles, he is probably trying to be a mood-maker so that the class atmosphere does not become too heavy. There is also a scene in KHDR when Xehanort goes on a trip and jokes about Xehanort acting differently than usual. I love that scene too.

He is the coolest guy, believing in what he believes in and having the strength to do it, while also being kind. I love him for that.

I just cleared KHDR!

There was nothing that I was worried about, they were there exactly as I had always thought they "would be". I am so happy about this.

Xehanort thinks that Eraqus is an absolute light and that he is the reason why I he can go down the path of darkness, and he thinks that he has to do something about the world, but he also wants the light (= Eraqus) to win in the end, and he has that kind of trust in Eraqus. I have always thought that he has that kind of trust in Eraqus, so I was happy to see that resolution raised even higher...

Eraqus was also a nice guy, as I wrote about in my previous lengthy post. I'm really happy.

I know it will take some time, but I would like to draw a cartoon of their peaceful years.

This is something I have been thinking about for a long time, but was thinking of abandoning it depending on the DR scenario. But fortunately, it looks like I will be able to draw the rest of the story without major revisions. First, based on the DR scenario, I will brush up to a more intense scenario.

This is a reprint of a manga published on September 20, 2020. The Xehaqus-centered Scalar group also appears a bit, in the days of their training. It is a double feature: one in which the two doze off, and one in which Xehaqus is pondering.

Postscript I'm terrified of what truths about their pasts will be revealed in the app in the future, but I hope that the time they spent together was warm and happy.

This is Xion's summer outfit.

The clothes inside are based on what the model was wearing on the product page of the collaborating brand. But the transparent material hoodie is my own addition.

I want her to wear various fashionable clothes as she starts her new life in KH3.

But I am sure that the black coat she wore when she was at the Organization XIII was very special and important to her.

So I made her wear a jacket similar in shape only.

In fact, there are a few developments and settings of the Dark Rord that I just can't accept that are anticipated by fans.

I may stop drawing Xehaqus fan art if such things actually become official.

For over three years I have been creating artwork that delves into the inner workings of Eraqus and Xehanort.

But my interpretation and the official one may be different, and the Eraqus and Xehanort I've come to love may differ greatly in characterization from their official counterparts.

That scares me tremendously.

I love Xehaqus, but I also love the city of Scala and all of their classmates.

This is because the place and their friends are irreplaceable and precious to them.

Xehanort's portal was the Scala of a bygone era, their final days were the days of their training, and Xehanort called those days "cozy".

They must have been very warm and precious days for them.

That is why I would like to depict fragments of the warm days that must have been in them!
