Aromatherapy (Part One)
WARNING: This post addresses Aromatherapy as a healing assistant, you cannot compromise vaccines with scents.
Today we will be looking at Aromatherapy and the magick of scents.
“The sense of smell is arguably the most underestimated sense we have, as it can actually be one of our most powerful healing allies. Aromas can trigger pleasant memories - from the smell of cookies baking in the oven to the scent of a loved one’s perfume to the fragrance of a flower - as well as unpleasant reminiscences. Aromatherapy is the art of using the power of scent to heal the body, mind, and spirit.
Aromatherapy and the use of scent in healing rituals, magick, and spirituality is not a new thing. Humans have always enjoyed the scent of flowers and have long observed the different effects plant odors have on the human mind and body. In the ancient world, the use of the aromatic properties of herbs in healing, magick, and ritual was well known. The ancients understood the connection between the mind and body in health, happiness, and well-being. The ancient Egyptians honored their gods using a variety of incenses and oils, the preparations of which were very ritualized and held deep spiritual meaning. Native American peoples used herbs for spiritual purposes as well as for healing and health. Many cultures still use fragrant herbs in healing rituals and to honor the dead, the spirits of nature, and the divine.
Today, the practice of aromatherapy is once again widespread, and the use of scented candles, bath salts, and potpourris have become particularly popular. Health-food stores carry lines of essential oils and oil blends. Even department stores carry synthetic oils and scented candles. Aromatherapy is accessible to everyone, and it is an effective and simple way to make positive changes to your health in mind, body, and spirit” -The Good Witch’s Guide by Shawn Robbins and Charity Bedell
Essential Oils
The simplest way to work with aromatherapy is by using individual essential oils. The oils are unique, and many of them have multiple uses. By learning the different uses of essential oil, you can focus your work on the oils that have the most beneficial effect on your health. While working with individual essential oils, you will discover that some are too strong for you, and others may even produce a negative reaction.

🌟Tips for interpreting Tarot🌟
Tumblr media
1. The most important clues may be in the background!
In the Rider Waite Smith deck, many cards show a figure with a number of significant items behind his or her back. What happens behind one’s back is, for oneself, something unseen, shadowy, something to which one has no conscious access. This could point to the idea that the figure in the foreground is unaware of the nature or scope of their issues. You can’t grasp what you cannot see, and that can reveal a lot about the nature of the card’s meaning.
2. The color of the sky reveals a lot!
Again referencing the Rider Waite Smith deck, the color of the sky on a given card often leads to a simple but important clue for its interpretation.
3. Pay close attention to proportions!
In the image of the Four of Wands, the figures are depicted much smaller than is the case in other images; they fall short. Or perhaps they are of normal height and are painted so small in order to emphasize the comparatively huge size of the wands. This sort of thing can be found in many other cards.
4. Court cards represent developed personalities or facets of oneself!
The Queen: impulsive, an initiator, an investigator (water type)
The King: thorough, intensive, consolidating (fire type)
The Knight: magnifying, expanding, a drawer of consequences (air type)
The Page: makes something tangible out of or with the element in question (earth type)
4. Pay attention to numbers!
Numerology can play a big role in your interpretations of the cards, especially in the Minor Arcana:
Ones (Aces): Something new with vast potential is indicated when you have many aces in your readings. They are pure energy without form - and it depends on you to shape it and bring the opportunities that they represent into fruition. Because they are raw, they are also unstable, and can very quickly overwhelm if not taking care.
Twos: Coming together in pairs is the theme of the twos, and all the complexities that this union represents. We leave the individuality of the ones, and the twos are a taste of union.
Threes: Group dynamics rule the threes in the tarot, and they depict different outcomes that can occur when a group comes together - whether they are groups of individuals, or groups of ideas. Because it is also symbolically thought of as completion (the first polygon, the holy trinity, etc) it also indicates an initial completion of a first phase of some sort.
Fours: The fours usually indicate that some foundation has been created and is ready to grow and evolve. To grow and evolve is the key here, because though the foundation is created, there is some disappointment indicated sometimes because things may not have progressed entirely as hoped for - thus, the fours are also the universe’s way of pushing us to grow and move forward.
Fives: Change, fluctuations and conflict are represented by the fives. After the fours, the fives are amplifications of that same energy. When that energy explodes, the fives ask us to look within ourselves for a deeper reason of why to progress. To move forward and beyond these instabilities, we have to push forward.
Sixes: While the fives represent conflict, the sixes represent the movement away from that conflict into a solution, whether they are internal or external, whether that means reconciliation or letting go. They are the cards of overcoming suffering, light after the dark.
Sevens: When seeing many sevens in a reading it usually indicates that it is a time to step back and introspect. The sevens ask us to assess, and reevaluate whether the path that you are taking is what is best for you. Sometimes this is a lonely pursuit, but this period is needed to go forward with your authentic desires.
Eights: A completion of a second phase is indicated with the eights, and usually corresponds to some sort of achievement, whether in the worldly sense, or in an emotional sense. Growth either way is indicated here, and sometimes it can take place in a form where we least expected it.
Nines: Nearing completion is indicated by the nines, and this can take the form of entering a plateau of some sort. What looks like the finish line, may actually be just a transitory stage. While the feeling of completion is here, it is usually just a pause before the final part of the cycle comes.
Tens: In the tens, we see the actual completion of the cycle, that something has come to a full circle - it indicates that from this point forward, we can move towards a new beginning.  ✨🔮✨ Sources: Biddytarot, The Ultimate Guide to the Rider Waite Tarot by Johannes Fiebig and Evelin Burger, Understanding Tarot by Liz Dean

Your posts are so raw and talk about stuff we don’t acknowledge enough. I mean like the little things. Everything you post makes me fall in love with humanity a little more
honestly thank you for saying this.
it’s been hard to find reasons to stay motivated in life. like, pushing through days. having days considered “filler days”. everything we do has this overwhelming urge to have purpose. sometimes we don’t feel productive until the last little spout of the day is over. and sometimes, seeing something little to fall in love with is all you need.
i’m glad i could be that for you. <3

on being perceived:
i absolutely love it when people laugh at my jokes.
i like holding the door for people and hearing a quiet, muttered "thank you" when they pass through, trying their best to get to their destination as quickly as possible.
i love it whenever people look my way when i raise my hand to answer a question in class.
i am still baffled when people go out of their way to check on me, or make little notes about my outfit.
my heart flutters when someone says that they were thinking about me.
my friend and i were at goodwill, and she held up a shirt and said "you would TOTALLY rock this" and i promise you that i haven't purchased anything quicker. i love wearing it.
when i think about myself, i think of other people and how they see me. it helps me see myself.

going through a friend-breakup
last night, i realized that the reason i had been feeling so lonely is because i was subconsciously processing the friend that had left me.
for a bit of context, i considered him one of my closest friends and he had been trying to distance himself from me. i kept pushing him to tell me why, only to find out he had been falling in love with me this entire time.
my point in all of this is that i have been treating myself as if i am too delicate or fragile to get into new friendships with people. i am convinced that i am "only" good for the development of other people. while that's not necessarily true, it hits hard when it needs to.
by putting myself in that box, i limit my capability to what i could be if i weren't "only" something else. although the human mind is as ridiculously capable of building cathedrals brick by brick or using context clues to read other languages, i am convinced that i "only" exist to improve other people.
i sit up at night sometimes. i think about the fact that i spent our entire friendship convinced that this person was going to be in my life until we were old, wrinkly, and still making fun of people falling on their face when they walked down the sidewalk. i find myself asking "am that desperate for love?" but i simply just do not think that this is the case. i was drawn to him because i thought "well, if i can embrace the parts of him that i can't love about myself, then both of us can be accepted and loved." i played the "if, then" game so much that i lost sight of what was happening. i scroll through our text messages and pinpoint all of the times that he was probably "actually" flirting with me instead of what i assumed was just a-little-too-elaborate jokes. hindsight 20/20, i guess.
when you lose someone in a relationship, it's easy to say "oh, right person wrong time" or "wrong person right time"; when you lose a friend, you lose a part of yourself, in a weird way. i feel like i lost a part of my soul because i allowed myself to love this heavily. i would have done almost anything for him. i thought he was my platonic soulmate. yes, i know that might be dumb.
i am scared to make that connection again. it's a little bit terrifying.

hi tumblr, here’s something nice that happened to me today (p1)
so today i went to dave and buster’s with my dad (i guess it’s kind of our thing now, considering that that’s basically all we do when we get to see each other). somebody that works there was fixing the claw in the giant claw machine (the one that’s known to be notoriously hard, for the record) and i was just sitting there because i was so intrigued that he had to actually go inside the claw’s mechanics (specifically the little box that’s above the claw itself) and fix the wire so the claw would lower properly. anyways, he looked at me--after fixing the claw--and said “hey, there’s a swipe in the machine if you want to play.” needless to say... i played. i went for a yellow pillow that was kinda on top of everything and the claw was **so** strong. the claw picked it up and almost got above the chute before it dropped. i was 0.3 seconds away from swiping my card (I WAS NOT GOING TO LEAVE AFTER THAT) before the guy basically shrugged his shoulders and swiped again. i was so surprised that i lost a few seconds on that timer. i got the claw directly above the pillow, slammed the “drop claw” button and watched as the claw grabbed the pillow, almost as the claw WANTED me to have the pillow, and dropped it in the chute. now i have a yellow pillow!!! (i have little to no room for this kind of stuff in my dorm. oh well.)
