Welp, been in the hospital for two days. Still don't know what's wrong with me. So that's fun.
I am kirbyxdesu Dad. For those who don't know, my daughter passed away after two days in the hospital almost 6 months ago. It's been crushing. She loved this app, so I thought I would let her community know of the loss.
HBO Max: so basically we're going to erase most of our shows as a tax dodge in a week and you can't stop us
A Youtuber who makes two hour long & strangely ominous video essays about Lost Media: it'll all be on Archive dot org by the end of the week you son of a bitch. Also the forbidden original pilot of Caillou and the French dub of the long sought after August 27th, 2001 Spongebob bumpers
Akeelah and the Bee is criminally underrated. As a little white girl from a tiny, predominantly white town, it was one of my first glimpses into racial discrimination and the struggles that kids from different races and backgrounds go through. I'm rewatching it right now and forgot just how much I LOVED this movie. It doesn't shy away from sensitive topics, despite being a movie directed towards mainly kids. The acting, the writing, the tact— *chef's kiss*. Anyway, I hope Akeelah and Javier eventually got married.
In case you’ve wondered what the American healthcare system is like, here’s a bit of a glimpse.
For background, I have a neurological condition, hydrocephalus. It causes a lot of side effects, though, thankfully, I managed to skate by without too much severity most of my life (childhood symptoms were hell but teenage years onward into my 20s has been relatively smooth).
Back in April, I started getting really bad migraines on the regular. I’ve always been prone to migraines from my condition, but these are flatout torture. One will last for days without stopping, cause me to get sick, hallucinate, pass out, etc. They’re BAD bad. I tried to get into my specialist but he’s booked up for months. Recommended actions from him in the meantime weren’t covered by my insurance (big surprise). So I’ve just been suffering with them for four months.
Fast forward to now-- I was laid off beginning of June, so, of course, now I don’t have any insurance. Shitty insurance or otherwise. The headaches have gotten worse. A thousand times worse. I don’t have a single day where my head isn’t throbbing. I see spots. My eyes feel like they’re bulging. My head has so much pressure it feels like it’s going to actually pop. I sleep for hours at a time. My ears keep pounding and my muscles all down from my head down my back are clenched up and aching from the headaches.
But, you know, America. And no insurance. So here I am trying to tough it up like a champ, living alone and trying desperately to find a job just so I can afford scans and whatnot to figure out what on earth is going on with me.
I’ve tried so much at home. Excedrin Migraine is a Godsend. Switched up my diet. Have been exercising on the regular. Hell, I lost 20 pounds because I read back in April that migraines can be tied to obesity. Essential oils help a little with clearing the pressure, but not the pain or vertigo.
It honestly scares me that my options are waiting until I can manage to not get auto-rejected from job applications and land a job, or go to the hospital/specialist and be thousands more in debt. How fucked is that?
idk something about the concept of how deku would die for anyone in world, but for katsuki he would kill is something both so profoundly sorrowful and romantic. fear the martyr who found something to believe in that they would rather kill for than be killed for.
