Tamaki Souh

Tamaki was the hardest for me to figure out but then I decided on Moana. He really likes how much travel there is in the movie. Even if it is all by sea. Being someone who moved to a new country. He knows how great it feels when you see new sights and when you learn new things. He also loves how the movie revolves around family. He could feel the connection between Moana and her family. Since he thinks of the host club like family. He likes to see the family moments. He also loves how Moana as a character is a strong and independent girl. Who wants to explore and do what is right. Reminds him of a certain girl with brown hair. Now whenever he goes to the beach he has to sing “How Far I’ll Go”.

Kyoya Ootori

Tiana!! He really likes how hard working she is. He liked how she didn’t like the prince because he was a prince and was good looking. Some people didn’t like how she was a frog for the whole movie. He did like it. He thought it was a nice plot twist from the original story. He really admired Tiana for her hard work and determination. He likes how she worked for her dreams. Even if he didn’t come from a poor family like she did. He knows what it is like to work hard for your goal. Since he is the youngest Ootori son. Tiana also reminds Kyoya of Haruhi. Since they both speak their mind.

Hikaru Hitachiin

Merida! Okay so first. The hair! Curly and auburn. Second um... her fiery personality. Even if he doesn’t like to admit that he has a short temper doesn’t mean that he can’t appreciate a character that has that trait. He likes how it deals with arranged marriages. Since he comes from a rich family. He has probably had his fair of seeing arranged marriages happen. He likes how Merida doesn’t take it and proves that she doesn’t need a man. He loves her talent in archery. He has always wanted to learn how to do it. Let’s just say... this boy likes a girl who can lift him up without a sweat. He also like the family bond. Even if Hikaru and Kaoru barely ever get into a fight. He likes to see it in films. Not because he likes seeing families fight but he likes to watch the process of them forgiving and understanding each other.

Kaoru Hitachiin

Cinderella! I mean come on, how could I not say Cinderella? I mean the whole symbolism with the pumpkin? Plus Cinderella made her own dress before her evil step sisters went and torn it all up. The animals helped her but that made him like her even more. When he was a kid, I think he thought his mom could speak to animals. I mean if Cinderella can make dresses and speak to animals then, why can’t his mom!? I think he liked how simple her story was. Yeah, she isn’t the strongest and most badass. Sure, she had the prince save her but, he also had to look across the whole kingdom for her. I think he can see her strengths in her talents and then putting the shoe on as a big f you to her step sisters and mother. Also you got to admit that dress and the glass slipper is iconic.

Mitsukuni Haninozuka

Does Vanellope count? I mean the princesses literally called her a princess. I mean she literally has candy all over her. Jk jk. I think Mitsukuni’s favorite would be Rapunzel. He likes her bubbly and adventurous personality. He also like how she is looks innocent and cute but can defend herself. Reminds him of himself. He likes how she has many talents since she has been trapped in a tower for years. He also thinks it is really cool how she uses her hair for many different things in the movie. She likes how she is determined. Even when the odds weren’t in her favor. She kept fighting.

Takashi Morinozuka

I think he likes Belle. I think he likes how she is a book worm and isn’t like what the town folks think she should act like. Obviously some people might be intimidated by his looks and don’t get to see how kind he is. He can relate to Belle in that way. People judged her for having a passion about reading. It was obvious that Gaston was intimidated by Belle’s smarts. Which is something that Takashi likes about Belle. He also like how Belle would do anything for her family. I mean she literally traded places with her father. It is kinda like how Takashi is always there for Mitsukuni.

Haruhi Fujioka

MULAN! I mean how could I not make Haruhi’s favorite princess Mulan? They have many similarities. Mulan dressed as a man for her country. Haruhi also cross dresses. Very determined. Mulan went through a lot of hard training. Which Haruhi admires. Haruhi is hard working as well. I mean Haruhi got to go to a really expensive school. Just by her grades. That is amazing. Haruhi loves strong woman. Her mother was a strong woman and so is Mulan. I think having a princess that she could look up to and a mom in her childhood years is nice to think about.

Imagine writing 6 asks just to rant about your NOTP. I understand that it can be scary to talk about your NOTP but you didn’t even ask if you could rant about it? Plus it kinda feels like you are generalizing the people that ship this into what you have read for fanfics. I am sure not all of the shippers make Haruhi a “homewrecker” or Kyoya and Kaoru only date because they want to get over Tamaki and Hikaru.

Also why do you have to compare it to other ships? It just seems like you are dragging this ship to make other ship seem better. Who cares if Kyoya and Kaoru had less screen time than with Tamaki? I mean they are in a club together and they obviously care about each other.

Also doesn’t Tamaki kinda have the same energy as Kaoru. I am not saying Tamaki is mischievous like Kaoru. Even though he usually is more mischievous when he is with Hikaru. He usually calms down when he is alone. Tamaki and Kaoru kinda have the same energy? Why do you think Tamaki and the twins are always seen together and having teasing moments? Of course Kyoya got annoyed when he first met Tamaki but he warmed up to him. How do we not know that he warmed up to the twins as well. Plus how I see it is Haruhi and Kyoya are always there to help calm things but they never really stop their stupid plans. I mean Kyoya joined the club because it sounded like a crazy idea. I hope that makes sense.

This kinda additude just reminds me of the shippers from the voltron fandom. I would say I ship Allurance but I respect people’s ships and 4 girls said that I should ship Klance and that my ex and I should cosplay Klance and not Allurance.

You see how this situation is kinda the same? You are using your ship as a way to make Kyokao bad. Which isn’t a good way to make an point.

I don’t mind if people rant about their NOTP but you should always ask if you can or not.

Dear mun, so your NOTP is KyoRenge, right? Well, can I rant a little bit about my NOTP? My NOTP is KyoKao. You see, I consider myself a seasoned Ouran fan and I remember when the first KyoKao fanfics were written. They basicially had the same plot: Kyoya and Kaoru were feeling left behind by Tamaki and Hikaru so they started dating/became friends with benefits in order to replace Tamaki and Hikaru.

(2 part) Let’s be honest here, that’s not a healthy way to start a relationship, right? Not to mention that this kind of plot kinda implies that Haruhi is a “homewrecker’’ because Kyoya and Kaoru had to find solace in one another since Hikaru and Tamaki are too busy pursuing Haruhi. So that’s how my pet peeve with KyoKao started, but I have other reasons to dislike this ship.

3 part) I don’t think their relationship would be a happy one. I can imagine Kaoru getting bored with Kyoya after the novelty wears off. I can picture Kaoru thinking that Kyoya is too uptight and boring. While, Kaoru is the mature twin, I can imagine Kyoya thinking that he’s not reliable and stable (and I believe what Kyoya looks in a partner is stability and reliability.

4 part) From a writing point of view, they barely interacted until the second half of the manga. I don’t want to pity KyoKao with TamaKyo we saw how their relationship developed. Besides, neither Kyoya was important for Kaoru’s character development nor Kaoru was important for Kyoya’s character development.

5) Honestly, In my humble opinion Tamakyo and TamaKao makes more sense because Tamaki was important for the character development of the two of them. Tamaki interacted with Kaoru way more than Kyoya interacted with Kaoru.

6) I know fanfic is fanfic, but I can’t picture Kyoya being attracted to Kaoru. I don’t think Kyoya showed any special affection for Kaoru. Kyoya just saw Kaoru as useful to investigate Kousaka and the Suou family. Keyword here is useful. While I do like Kyo and Kaoru’s friendship I can’t imagine their relationship being a happy or a longlasting one.

Anyway, that’s my humble opinion. I hope I’m not bothering you with my long rant.

I respect that we are all entitled to our own opinions and we have the right to agree and disagree with others. We’re entitled to have our own OTP and our NOTP. 

With that being said, I’d appreciate a fair warning before receiving a rant. I don’t mind reading your rants because I know sometimes we just need to get stuff off our chests, I’d just like a heads up. 

Also, I’d hate to say this but I think you contacted the wrong blog because I haven’t posted anything saying my NOTP is Kyoya and Renge. @insomniacfics actually shared their KyoRenge NOTP. I don’t mind hearing your opinion, I just wanted to clear that up. 

KyoKao Shippers, care to comment? Would you like to add to the conversation?

This idea was harder than I thought it would be. I might do an easier post. Which is The Hosts as Pokémon Gym Leaders. I will probably do a brief reasoning as to why they would be that type of gym leader.

KAORU WITH #50 FOR ANGST PROMPTS it has so much twin potential

I couldn’t wait to write this one! I hope you enjoy :). I went a little evil on this one so… oops. 

Kaoru slowly opened his swollen eyelids to a dark humid room. Frayed rope bit into his bruised wrists, a stiff wooden pole pushed against his sore back, and a handcuff’s cold grip bound his naked feet. Subtle moonlight filtered through a small chained window ahead, casting long ominous shadows throughout the concrete room. 

He didn’t know where he was or who had brought him here but he did know that he wasn’t alone. He could feel their fingers tightly hooked around his own. 

“Hika….” he barely whispered. His sore throat turned his normally smooth voice coarse and sharp. Just saying his brother’s name demanded an unusual amount of energy, leaving him nearly breathless. He was exhausted but he didn’t know why. 

“Kaoru…. you’re alive…” Hikaru whispered back, sounding equally coarse. 

Kaoru could also hear his own exhaustion in his weak voice. “Where are we?” he mustered, trying to find anything near them that looked familiar. Unfortunately he couldn’t recognize anything. There wasn’t enough light to distinguish the objects around them. He couldn’t see patterns or details, only shapes and shadows.

“Not for long.” A sinister voice sneered from the shadows. Kaoru’s stiff neck protested turning to find the faceless voice. It wouldn’t have mattered anyway, it was simply too dark. 

“Let us go.” Hikaru demanded weakly. 

“Who are you?” Kaoru added, hoping to sound more collected and threatening than he actually felt. The truth was, even if he weren’t bound to a wooden pole he wasn’t strong enough to fight off an attacker. Whatever happened to him before unconsciousness stole his strength and battered him badly. He was in no position to challenge their kidnapper and he knew Hikaru shared the same conditions. 

“Your mother called. She’s worried about you.” The voice spoke again but in a different location. Their attacker was closer. “She agreed to meet our demands so she could have her son back.”

“Sons….” Hikaru seethed, his anger sizzling in his voice. 

A haunting laugh resounded through the small room, echoing off the concrete walls with a metallic ring. “No…. I said son. You see, she believes that one of you is already dead.” 

Kaoru heard faint footsteps clacking forward across the cemented flooring. He tried to open his eyes wider to properly see their attacker but the swollen skin refused him. 

The footsteps stopped. “I don’t want her to think I’m a liar. I pride myself with my honesty.” 

Hikaru hoarsely chuckled at the blatant irony. Kaoru wanted to laugh too but his broken spirit squelched any energy to do so. The footsteps rushed over closer, closer, closer until the man stood directly above them. A shoe scraped against the dusty floor followed by Hikaru yelping in pain. Kaoru heard the shoe’s impact on his brother’s stomach. It was the most horrible sound. 

“I wasn’t trying to be funny.” The voice barked above Hikaru’s whimpering. 

Kaoru tugged at their hooked fingers, hoping his touch could somehow soothe his brother’s pain. He knew it was futile but perhaps… just perhaps… it would be enough to silence his cries. Kaoru couldn’t bear listening to his cries, especially when he was too useless to help. 

Kaoru felt a pair of heavily calloused hands roughly untying the rope from his wrists. Once the loops were loosened enough for him to wriggle free the hands left him. He assumed they also untied Hikaru’s hands too. 

“Stand up.” The voice commanded. There was dark authority in his tone, the kind that proved evil was at play. He wasn’t trying to act tough. He wasn’t hoping to fool them with strong words and a fierce attitude. Whoever this person was… they were absolutely capable of looking a man in the eye as he murdered them in cold blood. 

“Stand beside each other.” 

Kaoru shuffled his bound feet to the right, hoping his brother was following suit. He felt a shoulder bump into his and knew they had found each other. Their hands immediately found each other, gripping the other in a tight hold until their knuckles turned white. He desperately wanted to wrap his weary arms around his brother but he knew better than to aggravate their attacker. He didn’t know what would set them off. 

The footsteps approached until Kaoru could see a green vest through his hazy vision. A green vest with silver buttons and -

He felt something hard push against his chest. It felt thick, cold, and very solid. He didn’t want to think the worst but his fears were confirmed when he heard the gun’s hammer cocked back. 

“Which one gets to go back to mommy?” The voice mocked, practically sneering. Kaoru would have loved to beat him to a pulp but his paralyzing fear and weakened body rendered him completely useless. Since Hikaru was also still he assumed he also felt the same way. They were scared stiff. 

“Please… please…” Kaoru pleaded as he hesitantly raised his left palm, begging for mercy. This couldn’t be real. None of this could be real. He had to be dreaming. Any moment now he’d snap awake gasping for breath in a fit of cold sweat. Any second now he’d wake up beneath silk sheets with his brother’s warm body laying beside him. Any…. second….now…..

“Tsk tsk, you should know by now that the person who begs always dies first.” 

Kaoru gulped, squeezing his brother’s hand tighter until the blood stopped in his fingers. This wasn’t a dream. He was wide awake… but for how much longer?

The gun’s barrel raked across his chest plate until he rested above his heart. He heard a long shaky voice before -

“Kaoru I love you!” 

The gun barrel was snatched by a foreign hand, painfully scraping against his skin until it left his body completely. 

“Hika!!”

A gun shot exploded beside him, drowning out any and all noise until only a ringing in his right ear speared through the silence. Hikaru’s hand slumped in his tight grip as his body fell to the floor.

When I turned 18, my mom brought me to a restaurant. At the end of the meal my mom said “Can you believe my daughter is 18 now?” The woman gasps and said “Oh my gosh! No! I thought she was 12!” The worse part my mom made a joke about that happening before we went in! This is why I hate my height. At least I am 1 inch taller than Honey.
