Oh I wish I could have good nostalgia

Not just the kind that makes me sick on old memories from old photos

But the kind that makes me love that I experienced it all

Even if I wouldn't do it all again

His eyes change colors

Crystal clear like the waters off a coast on a cool day

Light, forest green when the sun catches grass in just the right way

The neon blue of a street sign at night reflecting on puddles

Dark gray of a storm cloud rolling in with rough winds

The soft pale blue of clean linen checkered with worn lines

The lightest part of worn blue jeans

The color of the sky on a bright, cloudless day

This is so sweet and hopeful 💕

maybe this is what it means to be alive.

picking yourself on those days you feel like you will not make it to the next moment, finding meaning in the smallest things possible, not betraying yourself, dealing with everything with the hope of it all. maybe this is what it means to be alive… watching the sun go down, getting out of your bed to feel the cold floor in the morning, feeling the blood rush through your veins, the sensation of your heart beating inside your chest. winds of change carrying it all away.

it does take like a thousand years but the pure sensory delight of opening a pomegranate and prising the seeds loose with the side of your thumb to hear that delicate low drumming as they fall into a glass bowl is. entirely worth it.
