Royalty

A blood oath as payment of his parents' debts, as a boy Suga had been enlisted into the service of the palace guard, a term set to expire on his eighteenth birthday, the day the walls fell, fire set to the castle. The newly minted king too concerned with getting his people out to bother with his own safety. By all rights Suga shouldn't have been there. Hadn't he earned his freedom? A father's debt to a father repaid. Two sons caught in an ambush, a blood oath no longer about blood or an oath. He knew he was a fool to have ever thought otherwise.
