Finally, today I feel myself as good as never before cause my holidays have started!!! This year was very hard and I had so many plans to realize!.. Because of different ย reasons ย I couldnโt finish all of them, but now itโs time to relax and to generate a lot of creative energy for the next year.
Last week was full of events and activities because of the knitting project birthday, so I hadnโt time to publish my new baby design. I plan to do it next days, so youโll have enough time to realize it for your babies. I really hope that youโll like it.
I wish you a productive week if you work or a relaxing one if you are in holidays, like me.ย See you in September!

INTERESTING KNITTING EVENTS
Good morning, dear knitters!
This week is going to be full of news and interesting events. First of all, next days Iโm going to celebrate the anniversary of my first baby pattern release. Obviously I have planned some involving ย events for you. So, follow me if you donโt want to miss them!
This week Iโm going to finish a new baby model and I really hope to publish it next week. I believe that itโs the best time for this tutorial cause itโs realized in a cotton yarn and itโs perfect for summer time. So, you still have time to realize it for your babies.
So, the last July week is going to be very positive and full of activity. So, stay with me and Iโm sure youโll not regret.

โCAN I USE ANOTHER YARN?โ
โ
Frequently you ask me if itโs possible to use another yarn for my projects. Indeed, sometimes itโs not easy to find the original one because of many reasons: its price can be high, or it can be not available in local shops, or you would like to use a yarn you bought earlierโฆ
Previously, my answer was always: โYes, you canโ. I just recommended to make a swatch and to check its measurements. If your gauge is equal to the one indicated in the pattern, you can knit without problems, so final measurements ๐ should be correct.
Now, I would say: โYes, but itโs better if you use at least the same fiberโ. I mean that frequently, using another fiber, you can find yourself in the situation when final model looks not as the pattern one. It happens because of many reasons.
In previous posts I already shared with you results we obtained during a one pattern test. With girls we found that alpaca wasnโt good for a wool model, because of its stretchiness. So, girls who used alpaca, needed to re-knit itโฆ and I was very sad because of this ๐ช, cause I know how much time it takes to made a knitting good.
Another reason why I recommend to use the original yarn is money saving ๐ธ. In my knitting life I tried hundreds of different materials and yarn producers. Of course, I faced situations when I needed to re-knit a good because of a low yarn quality. So, if itโs possible to find the recommended yarn, I would use this or similar one to avoid any negative emotions.
โ
I wish you to have good yarns and relaxing knitting!

HOW DID I START MY PROJECT?
Next week Iโll celebrate the โbirthdayโ of my knitting project. Almost 3 years ago, in July 27th in 2019, I published my first design โ the bonnet โButterflyโ. Actually it wasnโt the first one I created, cause I already had a baby jumper model, but my designer life and my knitting project had started with it! So, today Iโm going to share with you that story.
I knit since more than 20 years and my flats were always full of different yarns, knitting books and journals. Time to time when my husband is angry, he promises to send me with all my โtreasuresโ away. I really hope that heโs not serious in such moments. ๐
When I arrived in Italy it was very hard to find a job. First few years I thought much about a way to earn a bit of money and to help my family. As I could knit goodly I thought about a knitted product selling. I read many books and watched many master-classes and realized some baby booties. Unfortunately, nobody knew me and I hadnโt big successโฆ :(
Then I decided to try to create my own designs and I started withโฆ.right, baby bonnet one! I never knitted it before and I thought that itโs not very interesting to knit such little goods as baby knitwear, but I saw so many amazing models that I felt in love with that baby accessory. It seemed very boring to repeat designs of other knitters, moreover, I always wanted to add some details or to change them. So, I started to work on my first pattern.
One day it was finished. The new bonnet hadnโt a title and I didnโt write it down cause I still hadnโt the idea to sell it. I liked so much the creative process that I decided to write down my next pattern to be able to repeat it in case of necessity. It was the baby bonnet pattern โButterflyโ. I have proposed it to other knitters and faced a big interest to my pattern. So my designer story has started.
Now I make 8-10 baby designs each year! I try to use interesting patterns and elements in them. Sometimes itโs not easy but I try to solve all the problems I face. I have created bonnets, jackets, rompers, dresses, baby booties and even blankets! Each time I try to create something new and interesting, usingย different knitting methods.
I want to thank all the knitters who maintained me with my first patterns and continue to do it now. I guess without you I would have no energy to continue. Thank you for your interest, comments, photos and likes. Any your activity is very important to me โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

WHERE TO FIND PATTERNS ON SALE?
Hello, dear knitters!
Maybe you donโt know, but on Ravelry itโs possible to create pattern bundles. I found this feature a couple of weeks ago, but Iโm not sure that itโs new. So, many knitters use them to collect favorite designs of many authors, others, like me, to systemize their patterns.
Last week I created 6 bundles with my designs. Here they are:
Summer/spring baby clothes โ find here cotton designs which are perfect for spring and summer
Autumn/winter baby clothes - find here wool designs which are good for autumn and winter
Baby booties โ here you can find all my baby booties designs
Baby bonnets โ similar bundle for bonnets
Baby blankets โ find here baby blankets
PATTERN SALE โ the most interesting one ๐. There are designs which are currently on sale.
So, now my designs are systemized and you can easily find the one youโre interested in. Anyway Iโll be glad to assist you if youโll have any doubts about them. Write to me a private message.

HOW TO SAVE YOUR TIME
Hello, my dear followers!
As a scientist I like to systemize and to organize things around. I mean not only work space, but all my life in general. Obviously, Iโm not perfect, but I do my best. ๐
This idea is valid for my knitting activity as well. Indeed, I prefer to check all materials before knitting and not to waste time later, looking for an instrument I forgot to prepare. For this I created a โKnitting project checklistโ. Itโs a form which helps you to check all materials and instruments youโll need during the knitting.
You can use it to:
indicate a knitting project title;
check materials you need for it (it has more than 15 positions!);
measure and write down your gauge measurements.
With it youโll never forget to check measurements, to make a swatch and to control your knitting tension. As a result youโll not waste your time for changes and remakes.
There is another good news! You can find it as a gift in any pattern of mine!๐

3 WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR KNITTING LEVEL
โ
Good Friday!
โ
I guess that summer holidays are the perfect period to prove your knitting skills. Having more free time you can use it to obtain new knowledge or to try new things. As we like to knit, letโs discuss how to improve them fast, easily and having fun.
โ
1. First way is to read a knitting book and to try unknown techniques which youโll find there. Iโm sure that reading a book youโll find many new and interesting information, but I guess itโs a bit boring to spend free time reading a book and trying to understand new methods.
โ
2. Second possibility is to find in Internet a tutorial video in which author explains how to make a knitting good, sharing her knitting hacks. Itโs better cause youโll have both new knowledge and finished project which you can use in future. There is one problem with such videos, usually, itโs possible to realize a one size product.
โ
3. The last way is to realize a knitting project using a knitting pattern. Pay attention to the pattern youโll choose cause it should be easy and clear. At the end of knitting process youโll prove your knitting skills, learning new things, and will realize a knitting good (wear or toy) to use in future or to present to your friends/relatives. Moreover, a good author will help you if youโll face problems or difficulties during the knitting.
โ
Which method do you prefer? Just write the related number in comments.

WHAT RIB IS BETTER
I know, I have promised that this week will be dedicated to my new dress design, but I have one question to discuss. Itโs connected with a new design Iโm working on. I tried 2 rib types for it. Actually itโs always 1x1 rib, but knitted in different ways.
At the beginning I wanted to use the 1x1 rib, but I guess it doesnโt look good. Then I tried to knit stitches through back loops. I believe this rib looks better and stitches stretch less.
What do you think? Help me to choose, please.

ABOUT KNITTING INSPIRATION
Good Monday!
So, a new week has started. Itโll be not an ordinary one, cause next days will arrive my new baby dress design โDrops of dewโ. So, I decided to dedicate this week to it and today Iโm going to tell you the story of that model. Letโs start!
ย About 2 years ago in Internet I saw a very beautiful lace pattern. I liked it so much that I decided to create some models with it. Having no pattern, I started to look for a something similar and I found it! So, the bonnet model โDrops of dewโ had arrived!
For about 2 years I couldnโt find the model that could complete it goodly. I thought about a jacket or a blanket, but I have stopped on a dress design. Only a dress design can complete this amazing lace bonnet. So, I had started to work on it. The process wasnโt easy. I had many doubts about the design and pattern knitting in the round. I changed the model 4 times and finally could obtain the final result.
The pattern isnโt good for beginners cause of patterns I used. This time I couldnโt make their text descriptions, cause of changeable stitch amount, but it contains 2 tutorial videos about them. Moreover the tutorial contains as usual precise text description (row by row, stitch by stitch), model charts and process photos. I really hope that they will help you during the knitting.
So, next days the tutorial will become available for purchase. If you like it and would like to realize, donโt miss the related post! Follow me on networks!

CAN I HAVE A DISCOUNT?
Sometimes I receive this question in private messages from persons who want to buy more than one pattern. First of all, Iโm very glad that youโre so interested in my designs. I also believe that itโs a good practice to give an additional discount to a few pattern purchase, especially if we speak about set patterns.
Previously I knew only one way to realize it in my on-line shops โ is to create a coupon code. Unfortunately, it was necessary to indicate a period of its validity. As you can image it wasnโt comfortable cause I needed to renew the code frequently :).
Few months ago I had found another way to make a special price to set patternsย - ย to create an e-book with few patterns and to sell in at lower price! Now my 3 set patterns โSummer breezeโ,ย โLeaves danceโ, โWicker basketโ and โMy little bearโ are always available at have special prices โ 15% of DISCOUNT!
You can find them on :
Ravelry: https://buff.ly/35XrXQM
LoveCrafts: https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/user/knitted-baby-wear/efd43143-bca7-47f3-8836-dd5ced0728a6
By the way, next month Iโm going to add a new 3 pattern set โChocolate wafersโ. So, follow me to donโt miss the post!
Moreover, 3 bonnet patterns: โLotus flowerโ, โHoney combsโ and โWhirlsโ are on SALE! So, you can buy them at reduced price as well! So, if you like them and want to buy at special price, there is the right moment!

I DONโT NEED ANY TUTORIAL!
I know that besides my followers there are many knitters and Iโm sure many of them at least one time in life thought that, having some knitting experience, itโs not difficult to create a knitting pattern. I must say that itโs not so easy as it seems. Even having 22 years of knitting experience, I continue to buy knitting patterns time to time cause itโs easier to spend money than to spend time. In my life I had many confirmations of this idea. Letโs see why I believe so.
Having created more than 35 original designs I must say that itโs not easy to create a new one. If you still want to try you should:
Choose a model. Maybe itโs not difficult, you can use one seen in a knitting journal. In this case itโll not be original, but why not.
Choose a knitting patterns. If you already have some ideas about what you want, you have to spend at least a couple of hours to find it in special pattern books. You can knit a model without any pattern, for example in the stockinette or the garter stitch, but Iโm sure itโll look not so interesting as with it.
Measure your knitting tension. For this you should make swatches of ALL the patterns youโre going to use in your project and to count your gauge for each one. Otherwise, you can find yourself in the situation when different patterns will have different gauges and youโll be unable to use all of them in one model.
Take measurements and make all necessary calculations for your size(s). For this you need to know goodly how to take measurements in the right way and how to transform them in row and stitch numbers.
After all those steps you can start to knit your project. Here I must say that it never works from the first time. I make changes and remakes 2-3 times in averageย during the knitting.
As you see the process isnโt easy at all. A knitter, who buy knitting patterns, donโt think about all those steps and frequently believes that pattern prices are too high.
As a knitwear designer I must say that all those measurements and calculations take about 30% of time I spend to create a pattern. Ones, I tried to estimate this time and it was about 6 hours for a jacket design. Pay attention, I write only about the time which is necessary to have an idea, to make a swatch (or swatches) and to calculate stitch and row numbers for 3 different sizes. This time doesnโt include the time that is necessary to knit a test model, to write a pattern text description or to make process and tutorial photos and videos.
Do you still believe that itโs easier to make a new knitting pattern than to buy it?

ALL ABOUT LINEN YARNS
Letโs speak today about linen yarns. Indeed itโs one of the natural fibers and due to its features itโs perfect for summer garments.
Linen yarn is a plant fiber spun out of the long, straight fibers from the stem of the flax plant.
The yarn has some really nice qualities that make it suitable for warm weather garments like summer tops and wraps.
The mainย benefit of wearing linen clothesย in hot weather is the โcoolnessโ they provide. Thanks to the weave and linen fiber, linen fabric allows more airflow and its structure means it stays away from your skin allowing better airflow over your body. Linen is a โstiffโ fabric and is less likely to cling to the skin; when it billows away, it quickly dries out and becomes cool again. Summer clothes made of linen possess high air permeability, which allows air to flow through the fabric easily and allows the body to breathe.
Next, toย coolness and high absorbency, linen has one more very favorable property โ good heat conductivity characteristics. Heat conductivity refers to the extent to which heat can be conveyed through the fabric. As linen quickly allows the heat to escape, it further improves cooling. It is claimed, that heat conductivity of linen is five times higher than wool and eighteen times higher than silk. One more thing โ linen weave reflects heat better, too. This means linen blouse, linen dress or shirt has good โshadingโ properties as well and again โ the wearer of linen clothing feels cooler.
Letโs summarize linen yarn characteristics:ย
Strong and durable
Inelastic
Lustrous
Yield cool
Absorbent
Easily wrinkled
Machine washable and can be tumble-dried, as well as hand washed or dry cleaned
Easy to dye
Resistant to pilling and doesnโt get static
Antibacterial
An eco-friendly choice itโs a renewable source, almost chemical free and biodegradable
Great stitch definition. The inelasticity keeps stitches crisp and nice.
I must confess that I have never used linen yarn in my projects. Mainly because of its high price, but not only. I have doubts about its strength and about the possibility of tumbling. Moreover, I have an idea that itโll not very soft to skin.
What do you think about linen yarns? Have you already tried it in your projects? Did you like it?
The post is based onย https://www.textileschool.com/.

WHY HAND KNITTING?
I like hand knitting and all my designs are created for this knitting type. Maybe you didnโt know, but I have a knitting machine as well. Unfortunately, I donโt use it much. Why? Now Iโm going to explain it.
I bought it 7 years ago when I wanted to use it for knitting goods for sale. I tried and, having no experience, found that any stuff made on knitting machine takes much more time than hand knitting!
In that period my son was very little and frequently I found dropped stitched, cause he liked to move needle levers...
I hadnโt a special table to store it and I used an ironing board for this. As you can image it was extremely uncomfortable.
Obviously, having all those problems, I didnโt receive pleasure from the knitting process, so I stopped to use it.
What about you? Do you have a knitting machine? Do you use it frequently or prefer hand knitting? Write about it, Iโm very curios.

20 REASONS TO BUY MY PATTERNS. PATTERN AND MODEL CHARTS
โ
I come back with the post series about my patterns. All posts of the series you can find using the hashtagย #20reasonspostseries. The today post is dedicated to model and pattern charts.
โ
I believe that you agree that model and pattern charts help much during the knitting. Indeed, with model chart you can check final measurements and choose correct size. Moreover, checking measurements during the knitting you can avoid re-makes and save huge amount of time.
The same is valid for pattern charts. Somebody likes text description of each row, others, like me, prefers pattern charts. Usually, when itโs possible, I add them both into my patterns. Rarely, itโs hard to make a clear pattern chart, due to pattern difficulty. In such situations I make only text description and complete it with a tutorial video. I hope they both help you much to finish the model you have chosen. Anyway, Iโm always glad to answer to any questions about my patterns and to share with you my knitting experience.
What do you think about pattern and model charts? Do you need them both or you can knit without them? Please, share your ideas in comments.
