ZHONGLI had lived for far too long. he had experienced thousands of years worth of pain and suffering and death. and hed lost many people who had mattered to him. itd become to the point where zhongli was unsure hed ever be able to hold a long, committed, and meaningful relationship ever again. after all, he was a god, he would live forever. human lives, however, are fragile and zhongli would always outlive those who he cared about. that thought alone made it near impossible for him to allow himself to become so attached to others. but with you he had let his guard down. with you, he had betrayed all his senses and rational thoughts and fallen head over heels in love. but he knew deep down that that love could never last. he would remain as is while you would grow older and eventually leave the world. it was selfish, but zhongli didnt believe he could experience that pain. not again. hed stay and youd die in his arms. he couldnt allow that to happen though he knew itd be inevitable. it was an out of character, selfish action, but zhongli could only blame himself. affer all, had he been more careful and not fallen for you then he wouldnt have had to break your heart in the first place.

the fatui were by no means good people. in fact, it couldve been argued that they were some of the worst people in teyvat. but there was something about them that had always fascinated you. they were always determined and could make any of their goals become reality. but the one fatui member who had always captured your attention the most was none other than the eleventh of the fatui harbingers, CHILDE. childe himself wasnt very into the whole relationship scene and had never truly been with another person. sure, he could be confident in himself and was not afraid to be with another but such a thought had never really crossed his mind before. even when you had confessed to him, hed been surprised and at first unsure. caring for another person that was not his family while having a full time job with the fatui harbingers was sure to be difficult. but childe had studied you and thought to himself, what could be the harm? unfortunately, his inexperience in such a field would be the downfall. childes natural tendency was to put his family and the fatui first. however, you were neither. at first the relationship was good, healthy. but as it carried on you realized where childes priorities were. you just werent that high up on it. not only did it seem at times that he never truly cared for you, but you could never match the importance of his siblings and even the fatui. tired of being pushed aside, you couldnt stay in that relationship with him. so you left.

it was unnatural and unthinkable for someone like SCARAMOUCHE to ever be in a romantic relationship with another person. but somehow, you had managed to attract the harbinger in such a way. and somehow, the two of you had even managed to hold a romantic relationship together. though neither of you had expected it nor been very experienced in that field at all. scaramouche had always been a bit of a flakey boyfriend, the type of person to totally ignore you and disappear for days then suddenly appear at your door. eventually, it became to the point where youd only ever be excited when you knew that it was a good day to be with scaramouche. hed go back to you when itd be a hard day and youd be only happy around him on those days. hed rely on you to always be there for him no matter how long hed been away for. and youd come to look forward to those days, to rely on him to hold you those few and inconsistent times hed arrive at your house. the two of you were hardly in a relationship at all, to be honest. the two of you were more like your own therapists. and deep down, you knew that that wasnt healthy. and deep down, you knew youd have to end it. but how hard itd be, to leave your rock—the one person you trusted more than yourself. but you had to for the better health of yourself and scaramouche. maybe you two would find yourselves back with each other when you two were in better places. of course, only if it was meant to be.
