it sure would be nice if someone wanted to translate Arashi no Yoru ni or Seikai Suru Kado

my life is much better now so i don't really want to translate anymore, it's much more fun just to read manga myself so i can enjoy it

#i used to be in a very very bad place so i used my laptop to escape #but now i hardly use it ever and that means i don't translate either #i do read on my ipad

i wanted to upload some seikai suru kado translations and i was surprised that my laptop died on me because i hadn't charged it lol

I'm rewatching Kimetsu no Yaiba and I noticed how 下弦の月 and 上弦の月 are translated as ‘lower moon’ and ‘upper moon’ (at least in the version i’m watching) but ‘kagen’ and ‘jougen’ are actual moon phases. I looked it up and already found a post explaining it here: https://kimetsu-japanese.com/ch52-vol6-twelve-kizuki-jogen-kagen/ The post explains VIZ media’s mistranslations in the official English manga version and more about the actual Japanese used in the chapter where it’s mentioned so it’s more in depth and goes into the history of the words as well, I recommend checking the site out if you like Demon Slayer

接する has much more meaning than what a dictionary will tell you

to meet, to contact, to touch are basic definitions but here are translations that can be used instead that might fit context better:

I don't know how to deal with them.

I don't know how to talk to them.

I'd love to spend more time with you.

恨まれる -> 'they would have my hide'

super interesting translation, it probably wouldn't fit the setting if the people didn't have an 'old' way of speaking, obviously this english phrase isn't used much in the modern world

似合う: "to suit (someone/something)" or "to look good in" or "the be similar to"

other ways to translate:

"A girl like her is out of my league."

"I'm not worthy of this."

Hello, I've already translated volume 2 and I wasn't planning on translating volume 3 because I don't have Japanese scans. I can't read chinese so chinese raws won't work.

Now I'm working on Arashi no Yoru ni so it would take too long to go through and scan my copy of volume 3, clean the pages, translate, typeset, proofread, etc.

If you do have the Japanese raws for volume 3 I wouldn't mind working on it tbh but I really just want to work on Arashi no Yoru ni so it would take me a very long time to get to it

Or maybe another translation group will be willing to pick up volume 3, who knows

a proper translation team should be able to pick it up easily though, i can't remember how many chapters i did but i think there's only 11 more volumes left to translate
