Why there are people who keep repeating the same "Ascended bad and you are bad if you choose this" "uwu i dont care if you like ascended but dont justify"post in the ascended tag? its getting annoying. At least tag it as ascended critical or something. Some people just want to look at fan art or have fun you know

At the moment I decide to just enjoy the games ignoring the opinion of the fandom.

I think this is the best thing you can do! When I first time ended Baldur's Gate 3, I was very pleased my ending with Ascended Astarion and Justiciar Shadow. I didn’t see how game punishing me in any way or how it was a «bad» ending. I finished the game almost immediately after release and there have not been so many opinions on the Internet yet. Later opinions appeared and they really spoiled my impression of the game, my choices and characters.

Many people in the fandom press, condemn, impose their views on the characters, try to spoil your pleasure with such words as «you ruined them», «he doesn’t really love you», «this is a bad ending», «you sexualize him», «this is not healthy» etc. It affected and upset me.

Under someone else’s pressure, I began to doubt myself and my options. I started spoiling my own pleasure by bending under others, because they humiliated me and said I was literally missing the point of the game. Everything they were talking about, I didn’t see it and didn’t understand why they were saying it to me or to people who made a similar choice in their game and were happy with it. What if there really is some kind of punishment in my ending? Should I point out these disadvantages to developers? Why do some players get punished and others don’t?

But then I remembered my feelings right after I ended the game. I was happy! This is my game and I was happy with it. The reaction of the characters completely satisfied me. Not to blame, but I know many fans are unhappy with Spawnstarion ending because he suffers from the sun. I didn't have such feelings about my ending. I never thought Ascension requires improvements. When I say I was happy, that's how it was. Until I felt judged by others.

This is a role-playing game, so whatever you do in it, it cannot be defined as «wrong» or «bad». What is bad and what is good is decided only by you and your character. Enjoy your own game and don’t listen to others. The world of their game does not intersect with yours in any way.

If other players see something and you don’t, that’s fine, because everyone perceives the game situation differently depending on the character you play. For example, a good hero character will think «oh no, what have I done, I’ve ruined everything», and a neutral one will think «a profitable exchange!». This is not a problem of your views or critical thinking. The problem is rather that people are trying to impose their view on the situation/game/character/etc on you. This is wrong. Don’t blame yourself, blame them, or better yet ignore them.

If you like your ending and you’re happy with it, then it’s not bad, no matter what anyone tells you! I decide to just enjoy my games <3
