i feel really sad about the fact that in banana fish the anime, the animators didn’t animate anything about eiji’s past except his injury,

eiji actually had a lot going on,

his dad was always sick while his mom was an unfaithful wife and even tried to sleep with ibe-san.

and i’m assuming that eventually, his father’s condition worsened and he died.

i’m also guessing that eiji was the one that took care of his younger sister as both of his parents didn’t.

and when he decided to take up pole vaulting as a career, he injured himself.

i know it’s not much compared to what ash had been through but eiji had difficulties in his life too and people really need to notice that

i rewatched banana fish and i am in PAIN😭 but i simply choose to believe that Ash made it to Japan and never touched a gun again. He and Eiji live happily in a small, seaside town. Eiji is an established photographer and Ash is a researcher and author (but chooses to go under a pen name because he values living a private life). They have a dog and garden together on Sunday’s.
