Hi 😃, Do you know about geiko Fuji of Fuji okiya. Can you tell me about her? Was she a retired geiko Umechika of Umeno okiya? I have seen her in miyakon o nigiwai 29th ( 第２９回京都五花街合同公演「都の賑い」youtube) Sorry I cannot attach the video! thanks in advance 😄🙏.

Yes, she is former Umechika of Umeno! I'm not too sure why she retired and then re-debuted under Fuji with a new name though ^^;

On 28. March 2022, a new Maiko debuted in Gero Onsen! Her name is Marika まり華. I previously thought she debuted as Geiko back in June, but it looks like I was wrong.  Three dances she mastered during her time as Minarai Maiko were: “Gero Zashiki Uta” 下呂座敷唄, “Kiku Zukushi”  菊づくし and “Kyo no Shiki” 京の四季.  Congratulations to your debut, Marika! I’m keeping a constant eye out for anything about Umehina.  I really do hope she gets to have her Erikae, but I can’t say it looks good considering Umechie, Umesana and Umechisa left. I’m so sad abt it :(
