We all know SM is fond of bringing people back to life, and so I don’t believe Kenric is quite as dead as he may seem (No body, no crime, am I right?). When we found out Fintan was still alive, and that he used an ogre force-shifting trick to leap out of the everblaze, I was thrilled (wildly ecstatic actually) because Kenric (who dove at Fintan and was probably touching him when he leaped away), could have very easily gone along for the ride. Of course, Fintan’s a desperate man (cue the Eric Church song), and he probably realized having a Councillor as a prisoner could buy him extreme leverage if he was ever out of options. Since the Neverseen had a treaty with the Ogres (which was how they kept Lady Gisela locked away), they could very well still have some sort of underground prison in someone else’s territory, where Kenric could still be trapped. (If Vespera was locked up for thousands of years, it’s not too far-fetched to imagine Kenric imprisoned for two years). Fintan most likely interrogated Kenric about the caches, which was how he learned Sophie could open them. Aside from that, Kenric was probably not too cooperative, which was why the Neverseen used Gethen to threaten Oralie with that King Arthur style sword. Obviously, Kenric has some hidden story that SM hasn’t told us yet, because WHY WOULD HE THINK HIS LIFE WAS IN DANGER DURING THE HEALING? None of the other Councillors were going around giving out caches. There’s way more to that story than what we’ve seen. Anyway, we still have two more books, and I’m just saying it would be less improvable to bring Kenric back than it was to make Forkle have a twin that he shared every single thought with. Besides, if anyone deserves a happy ending, it’s Kenric and Oralie. :D

Thanks for tagging me!! While I don’t have an awesome fic from this fandom like the rest of y’all, I always have a current WIP of my own (which will be published- eventually)! ;) Btw, your fics sound great! Can’t wait to read them!!!

Here’s some out-of-context lines from my middle grade fiction series WIP:

1st line: “Please fasten your seatbelts, we are starting our descent.”

1st line of current chapter: DJ paced in front of the recently captured outpost.

Last line I wrote: Kelly couldn’t have gone too far, right? Everything would be fine.

Line in an upcoming chapter: “For all we know, he sits around and eats onions all day,” Dan pointed out.
