07072021 | A friendly word of advice - Never take two Summer A classes. Also, strange that Professors don't get paid during summer? Hm.

I was thinking (grieving) about Palestine and about art as resistance to oppression. I went to find some old notes I made on Mona Hatoum’s work – apparently when I was obsessed with her I also loved a really long sentence and overusing the words ‘subvert’, ‘context’, etc 😅 anyway I thought I would share as I still find her work so incredibly moving as it describes the Palestinian experience of exile under Israel’s oppressive regime. Edward Said says it best, as usual

This exam period is freaking insane, luckily there’s only 1,5 weeks to go. Working at the library while the short light period comes and goes is a bit depressing, but what can you do.
We are able to keep a solid distance to other people in the library so I’ve been lucky enough to go and study there. Hope this damn pandemic is over soon

04.05.21// studying is looking a lot different this year than last. My partner and I were on the last day of prep for our mock trial when it was cancelled due to covid.
We prepared for our mock trial for 5 months and we weren’t even able to do it. I flew home less than a week later.
It’s been a wild, wild year with so many missed opportunities and missed celebrations. Here’s to the next year being more positive.
