*Always an animal lover at heart, you decide to check out the stables. It’s such a nice day, anyway, it would be a shame to waste it by staying indoors.

You follow the well-manicured path of cobblestone and hedgerows to the stables. It is balmy and sunny, and the warmth prickles over your skin in a very pleasant way. It’s almost impossible to keep a light smile from your lips as you make your way to the buildings and barn.

There’s a number of animals here - some common horses that all look like they’re pampered and belong in parades, a portly miniature pony who sticks his head out of his stall and whinnies at you for a treat, and what you think might be the silvery-white flash of a unicorn in a faraway stall.

Your attention is drawn to one of the paddocks, however, as there’s talking from outside. You decide to investigate.

Blue is standing beside a chestnut pegasus, brushing out a wing with a curry comb, and gently reaching up to pet its face. The pegasus is paying attention to him as he does so, ears perked forward pleasantly. The way the pegasus’ wing is down, though… reminds you of an injured bird. Maybe it’s having trouble keeping it supported? You can’t see any outward injury as you draw closer, but that hardly means anything.

The pegasus sees you first and lets out a soft huff. Blue turns, a momentary look of confusion on his face before it splits into a grin again.

“OH, HELLO!” He greets cheerily, “IT’S GOOD TO SEE YOU OUT AND ABOUT! DECIDED TO GET SOME FRESH AIR, EH? GOOD IDEA! IT’S SUCH A NICE DAY!”

He babbles on at volume, and asks you how you’re doing, how you’re adjusting to life here, and you tell him that it’s wonderful! …Probably not as exciting as whatever he gets up to, but still much better than where you were!

“WELL, OF COURSE!” Blue responds with an easy laugh, “YOU’RE HERE! IT BEATS PRACTICALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!”
