hey! i was wondering if you heard badaweih by sanaa moussa and if you would be willing to share an english translation of the lyrics? i love it entirely and i think it's about the woman and the moon and being alone but i don't understand it, really. it's okay if you would prefer not to! xx
Hello love! Of course, first of all I love Sanaa Moussa, she has the voice of an angel. I love this Lullaby so much, its called Badaweih (Bedouin lady). And Sanaa said it's an incomplete melody, and what she sings is the essence of what she could remember and was sung to her by Latifa Simaan (sadly passed away years ago) from the displaced village of Suhmata ten years ago.
I couldn't find the lyrics online but i trusted my humble knowledge of palestinian dialect, so she goes:
بدويه كانطلت
من المرجه وحدها
و البدر اخوها
و الهلال ابن عمها
Badaweih, how splendid as she appeared
From the meadow alone,
With the full moon as her brother,
And the crescent as her cousin.

Colonizers and fascist regimes throughout history have been sadly and impressively consistent, congruent and persistent in perpetuating the same atrocious crimes, the failure is our inability to eradicate the roots that breed such malice. You will have an exact textbox occurrence of acts and events yet we just condemn and point out, put words on it, shelve it and stack it for history books. Unless you plough the rotten roots, the rot will come again and again.

No words can describe what we're witnessing in this footage. This is an exclusive footage obtained by Al Jazeera from an Israeli drone shows the targeting of Palestinian civilian youths in the city of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, by an Israeli drone.

On this women's day, our thoughts go to the women of Palestine, Sudan, Congo and Haiti and all Indigenous women who struggle for liberation. The women's liberation movement will always be an anti-capitalism, anti-imperialism and decolonisation movement.

As Ramadan approaches, I can't stop thinking of the dire and inhuman starvation and man-made famine going on in Gaza and Sudan right now. I know after a long day of fasting I'll find what to ease my hunger with. It pains my soul knowing the starvation rates in gaza and Sudan, the many pictures of malnourished bodies of kids and babies, the horrifying scenes of Flour wet with blood of palestinian martyrs, and I know even during the extermination and forced starvation some of them if not most of them will still fast during this Ramadan and I can't stop thinking of their resilience, May Allah grant them mercy, strength and liberation during our holy month 🙏🏽

Hey, i genuinely want to know. Do you know why the other Arab countries do nothing substansial to defeat or to pressure Israel (and US) to back off from Gaza (and Palestine)? Is it because they don't want Israel and US also to attack them? Don't they have responsibility as part of shared history or something.
Please explain it like i'm a five year old. Thank you.
Hey! Happy to answer this question.
The simple answer is that these Arab countries are collaborators. The more complex but still simple answer is that it is within their interests to not get involved. Firstly, it prevents them from being attacked as you said and thus the war spilling over into their borders. Egypt, on the other hand, doesn't want millions of Palestinian refugees flowing into Egypt so it is within its interests to control the Rafah crossing and they've been complicit in Israel's blockade. Secondly, they're allies with Israel. There are countries like Jordan that try to make it less obvious but their collaboration and deals with Israel are still known as under-the-table deals. Whilst countries like UAE and Saudi are more open about their ties with Israel, particularly after the "Abraham Accords." Thirdly, they've got geopolitical interests in the region too, and unfortunately, those interests align with the West. In my opinion, the Arab states will always be stuck in a paradox of being corrupt Western client states because of leaders trying to hang onto power.
As for your second question about responsibility, I don't believe responsibility should come about from having a shared history or identity with Palestinians especially because the Arab countries have always betrayed Palestinians... however, it should be their responsibility for the sake of upholding human rights and democracy in the region. More importantly, stability and peace in the region. But above all of that, they should be doing more to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza because some of those countries have the money and capacity to do so, and the situation has gotten to a point where hundreds, if not thousands are dying due to famine and disease. but I guess UAE and Saudi have better things to do like fund the RSF in Sudan or bomb Yemen.

hi sorry is there any other way to donate to helpgazachildren? sadly it said my country (east asia) does not support donations to the recipient, and my country only has "plan international" ngo for official donation but I never saw people mentioned this organization so I am not sure how trustworthy it is. sorry again for bothering you!
hello thanks for sending this in. unfortunately we don't have another way to donate other than the paypal.
helpgazachildren is not an organization or official charity but rather a donation drive managed by Hussam in Rafah who is a close friend of a family friend of mine, and through this became a trusted friend of ours from the past month and a half we've known him. you can read the FAQ of the notion site for more information.
if you check my helpgazachildren tag on here, you can see how the money directly impacts people in Rafah so you know that the paypal owner, Hussam, is a trustworthy individual. You can also see the visual receipts/proof of purchases on the notion site.
the people in the north of gaza we are sending money to are also family friends who have taken it upon themselves to scavenge for food and other necessities for the community as much as possible. they've taken it upon themselves to risk their lives trying to find any food to feed the literally starving families of the north. the money sent will be dedicated to purchasing aid.

Hi, thank you for your response! It was a bit complicated for me as english was not my first language.
But in simpler terms, as I understood your response, they are a zionist? Because that’s why I was confused because Palestine Jews also exists just as Israile Jews exists. So if they’re saying they “Support Jewish” then that means they only support the Israel Jews who are doing the occupation and not the other people from different religions no matter if they’re dying or doing a genocide in broad daylight.
Hey love! mine is not English too, but some terms I genuinely wouldn't know how to simplify, this website will really help you, it is simple to browse and get informed
Rather, it largely stems from the statement made by your friend, which appears either confused or deliberately ignorant. When someone says "support Jewish" to imply backing a self-declared Jewish colonial settler entity like Israel, they are not advocating for the Jewish community but rather endorsing colonization. This support, whether is out of ignorance under the guise of avoiding antisemitism or actually supporting with the full knowledge of the said state's ugly crimes, supporting a criminal entity that genocides Palestinians isn't helpful to Jewish people either.
if your friend says, "I support Jewish people, so I support Israel," if you know they say it out of ignorance help them realize the heaviness of what they say, if they say it with full knowledge of what's happening... I don't know what tell you
