I think it seems likely that Alaric and Kaleb did not tell Landon about the details of golem Landon and what Cleo did since Landon had to ask how many fake Landons there were (when there were only two). It’s as if they barely told him anything and didn’t explain what even happened, which isn’t surprising with how much they lied and kept things from people. And Landon not really getting any information, therefore never actually finding out about Cleo manipulating and betraying Hope, is the only thing that would make his behavior towards Cleo make sense. Because there’s no way he would’ve been nice to Cleo like he was if he’d known that she’d used the memory of him to trick Hope and then tried to kill her as well. I mean, we saw how he reacted when Roman showed up and that he made it clear he was not okay with him and didn’t find him trustworthy after what he’d done to Hayley. There’s no way Landon would’ve been friendly with Cleo at all or wanted anything to do with her, and no way he wouldn’t have confronted her either, if he’d known what she did to Hope.

Exactly, that too! After everything the squad did to him and the fact that they’re largely the reason he ended up dead and in limbo, he had to make more sacrifices for them and lost a piece of his soul because of them. The way that Landon had wanted friends, had been bullied so much in the past, and then he ends up with the worst “friends” in the world who played a huge part in leading him to his death and purgatory where he gets left alone and loses everything. There’s truly no end to all the ways the writers hurt Landon.
It’s really insane to think about all the ways that they perpetuated Landon’s traumas and hardships and trapped him in them.
Like after he’d grown up being abused, they not only continued to have him being abused by hurting him the whole show, but then chose to kill him and keep him dead in the end.
And after Landon had gone most of his life not being loved by anyone, after he found the person who came to love him most (and who he also loved most), they had her be the one to kill him.
And then, after Landon had been trapped in 2 other dimensions for a whole season, they trap him in another dimension again which they never allow him to escape. Where there are also monsters, after he’d been trapped in a prison world full of monsters where he had to fight for his life. Then he’s gotta be around more of them in limbo and also help them. Even though it’s a totally different situation, you’d think it would still affect him to be around monsters again after having to fight and survive them before. (Not that they ever acknowledged any of this and just had Landon acting fine with everything in limbo.)
And he’d also had to be stuck with the Necromancer for however long it was, the one who killed his brother and forced his brother to kill him, resulting in the loss of his phoenix powers and making it possible for Landon to be dead in the first place. Then Landon’s the one who has to help the Necromancer and he gets freedom and peace while Landon remains trapped in purgatory.
And when part of Landon’s trauma came from him being locked up as a child, when isolation was part of the abuse he went through, he then gets locked up in limbo and remains isolated forever. He hadn’t even wanted to be stuck in a prison world with his brother, yet they put him somewhere that’s essentially like a prison world but worse.
After so badly wanting to escape the harmful life he’d had in the foster system and to have a real home and family and to not be alone, they put Landon somewhere inescapable that is literally damaging his soul, where he is completely alone and without the people he loves and without a real home that he’d always wanted.
And adding to Landon not having a real home, there’s also the fact he’d gone place to place while in foster care, never having any real stability or consistent safe place to be. And then for half the show they trap him in one place after another, and he continues to have no sense of home or stability anywhere. He’s got no real place to go and is basically homeless while trying to survive/escape each place he gets stuck in. And the closest thing to a home they give him in the end is a bar and a dock. And along with that, Landon would have grown up with very little, he hadn’t had many belongings at the start of the show and had to be given clothes by the school because of how little he had. Then by the end, the only clothes he gets to have is one outfit, and doesn’t get to have any other belongings either.
And after being neglected and left behind his whole life, they had him being left behind in every way possible and even said that was his fate. While no one did anything to help him. After his mom had abandoned him when he was a baby, they had her abandon him again (idc if he encouraged her to find peace, it’d still be hurtful to him for his mom to agree and just leave him behind again without helping him). And then they had even Hope, the last person who would’ve given up on him, abandon him as well.
He’d literally started harming himself (in season 2) when he was alone and without Hope and Raf, saying being alone was hopeless. And then the writers made him even more alone in the end, without Hope and Raf and without any hope of being with them again. They took the very things that had made Landon s*icidal and trapped him in them forever and then claimed it was a happy ending for him.
It’s still unreal to me what they did to him and that they took his traumas and basically amplified them and had his ending revolve around them. And somehow thought that was wonderful for his character and story.

I've been feeling a bit guilty because I've been imagining Landon getting roped into joining a band and not expecting to be valued and enjoy it so much.
Landon in a band is an interesting idea I’ve never thought of before but also fitting with as musically talented as he is. And I fully support him being able to enjoy something and be valued!

Just saw your recent post. And you’re telling me that there are people who actually got mad at Landon for being rightfully upset with Hope because she was keeping things about his mother from him????? I understand Hopes reasonings as to why she didn’t tell him. She didn’t want him to get hurt, but she also feared that he might leave if he found out. And as much as I love Hope(and I’m not attacking her) it wasn’t right of her to make that choice for him. He just wanted answers, no matter how good or bad they may have been.
Yeah and for “abandoning her” because he needed to leave and take time for himself when he was shocked and hurt. And yeah, no hate to Hope, I can understand where she was coming from too but Landon deserved to know the truth and I agree it was wrong of Hope to do what she did. And Landon should be allowed to react and feel upset about it. Like, not only did he find out that Hope had been lying to him when the importance of honesty was such a big thing in their relationship, but he found out that she’d been lying about his mother, who he’d never known and wanted to meet his whole life. And he found out during all the crap going on with Roman when he was feeling insecure about that. And he was also dealing with all of this after he’d just been murdered by someone who was supposed to be his friend. Yet he was still attacked for having to leave an irrelevant pageant because he was overwhelmed and in a bad mental/emotional state. A pageant he and Hope didn’t even care about and didn’t have to participate in. Hope was pushed into it by Lizzie and she could’ve left like Landon did (and should’ve) but then Roman pushed her to stay. But of course everything is Landon’s fault and he’s wrong no matter what… that’s the legacies fandom for you.

It always bugged me how Landon was treated in 1x14 for his reaction to Roman, as if it was so wrong of him. Like, I’m sorry, but him acting how he did was totally justified. Hope had literally planned to kill Landon after he stole a knife and held it against him for how long, then Landon sees her acting fine and trusting towards Roman when he shows up, after he’d played a part in Hayley getting killed. Which Landon expressed, and it makes perfect sense for him to be confused and upset by that, yet he’s still somehow wrong for feeling that way. And later gets criticized for being jealous as well which also somehow makes him in the wrong. Even though I think him feeling some jealousy is also understandable when you take into account the fact that Landon had been unwanted throughout his life in the foster system, had been abused and bullied and made to feel like he wasn’t good enough. Then he’s in his first relationship, I think he’s allowed to feel some insecurity when his girlfriend’s ex shows up. But instead he’s painted as the one in the wrong who needs to apologize, and as if he needs to trust Hope. Even though we know how much he trusts Hope, I’d never say lack of trust was the issue but that it was about his own insecurities from trauma. Which they barely touched on, but what else is new…

Can we talk about how Josie literally dragged Landon with her summoning spell from the werewolf cellar all the way through the forest to the old mill and somehow thought that was a good idea? And then asked if she bruised him, like how would Landon not have been injured? Wouldn’t he have been pulled up stairs from the cellar on his back, through the school, through the forest, but he was somehow okay and that didn’t draw any attention to him either? No one noticed? Like if Josie was able to unlock the door to the cell he was in, why didn’t she just leave it at that and let Landon find his own way out safely and quietly? Or done something else idk, rather than drag him on his back all that way, not knowing if he’d get hurt or who might see him. It’s actually a dumb idea and ridiculous to think about.
