“Fish Pond mosaic by Gary Drostle. It’s made of vitreous ceramic tesserae using a ‘reverse technique’ and measures 2 meters in diameter. Made for a small public garden in Croydon, Surrey, UK, it won several art awards.“ (via Archaeohistories at Twitter)

Es wird offiziell: Ostfriesen sind Weltmeister im Teetrinken
Official: East Frisians hold the record in drinking black tea. With 300 liters per resident per year, they rank first by a wide margin before the Turkish, the Libanese, and the English.
East Frisians have a special tea ritual: First put rock candy into a tea cup, then pour in the hot tea. Finally add some cream. Do not stir. Enjoy a different taste with each sip. First you have mild creamyness, then the tartness of the tea, and finally the concentrated sweetness of the dissolved sugar at the bottom.
The drinking water in East Frisia contains almost no calcium and magnesium, giving the tea a mild taste, so it is best to use deionized water when you are living elsewhere.
The East Frisian tea culture has been registered as immaterial cultural heritage by the German UNESCO commission.
