the best part of cailian manor arc and probably the whole series is that llh is immune to drowning. he puts on the wedding dress, falls into the corpse lotus lake, sinks for a bit but then simply swims back to the surface and gets out of the water. the reason he can do that isn’t that he is a man and therefore stronger than the all the brides that died there before him — he is a character whom the corpse lotus lake recognises as lotus, not body. the body is li xiangyi who has been narratively decomposing in the sea and nurturing li lianhua on the shore for the past decade. lianhua is the lotus grown from the dead body of xiangyi, so of course he floats

Dr Who

At 21 I decided to spend Christmas Day by myself for the first time, which was a grand idea until The Muppets Christmas Carol made me cry at 9am and I thought "Fuck this shit", and switched the channel and found a marathon of Season 1 of Dr Who. If I'd known about tumblr or fandom any time between watching Christopher Eccleston's or David Tennant's reigns then this would have been a Dr Who blog through and through.

Star Trek The Next Generation

TOS and TNG are pretty neck and neck for my favourite Star Trek series's but it was a chapter on Data from a book about media depictions of androids and artificial intelligence that made me interested in Star Trek in the first place, so TNG wins out.

Macgyver

Thanks to my mum's old VHS tapes, this man has been my idol since I was about 5 years old and the reason I've owned a Swiss Army pocket knife since I was 9.

The Untamed

The Untamed is here not just because it's got so many great characters and storylines running through it, but primarily because it was the gateway show into CDrama for me and I am utterly grateful for that.
