Enjolras and Courfeyrac Friends with Benefits headcanons!!!

It started with a kiss- They had their first kiss together, back when they were like sixteen, and it was awkward and fumbling and kind of hilarious and neither of them ever expected it to happen again. But then they’re eighteen, at some house party thrown by one of their classmates, and they’re both stone cold sober but somehow they end up in a broom cupboard together and it doesn’t feel weird this time it just feels nice and comforting and fun but also, huh, my best friend is kind of really, really fucking hot, why have I never noticed before?

They actually try dating, for a while. About three months actually. It was very casual, but it was…Strange too. Enjolras would be totally fine with hanging out with Courf as a friend, either with other people or just the two of them, and he was totally fine with making out and sex and everything else. But the second anything explicitly romantic was hinted at? Date night, romantic dinners, Valentine’s Day? He would freeze up completely, and even start cancelling last minute. Courfeyrac breaks up with him, because he loves him so much as a friend and it would be cruel to both of them to drag this out when it’s clear that it isn’t what he wants, and Enjolras comes out as aromantic a few months later. Courf is like “awesome! Can we start sleeping together again I miss the Enjolass.” and Enj is like “I hate you so much” (and then he says yes)

The best thing about their arrangement is that they can just completely be themselves. They haven’t got anything to prove, so they can just hang out and be silly and have fun with it, because sex is supposed to be fun! They experiment a bit and try things that they wouldn’t ask other people to do, but sometimes it doesn’t work and they’re like please stop before you ruin sex for me forever lmao. And then other times it really, really works. 

The fact that they’re best friends also means that they are truly ridiculous sometimes. I feel Courfeyrac brings out Enjolras’ sillier, more relaxed side in general (let him have fun! let him have a sense of humour!). So like, they’ll be making out and Courfeyrac will pull away and grin…And then just lick a stripe up Enjolras’ face with his tongue, just to be a menace. Or Enjolras will start kissing his way down Courf’s chest and stomach, and Courf gets excited because he thinks he’s getting a blowjob, and then Enjolras will just blow a massive raspberry on Courf’s tummy and Courf will be like NOOOOOO

They’ll go to each other when they’ve had a bad day. Enjolras will spend a day grinding his teeth because he’s heard a million comments about how “someone as attractive as you can’t possibly be single!” “oh, you’ll find the right person someday!” “I bet you’ve broken a lot of hearts with a face like that.” And he’ll go to Courfeyrac and ask if he can fuck the frustration out. Or Courf will have spent all day doing something really frustrating and annoying, and he’ll have been so busy trying to keep everyone’s spirits up that he’ll feel really down and absolutely exhausted by the end, and go to Enjolras for some comforting sex because he just kind of wants to be taken care of. They’re really, really good at looking after each other. 

The regularly talk about ABC stuff before, during, and after. Enjolras has been sleeping with Courfeyrac for years and yet somehow still does not understand that “Did you file the request for the permit?” is not a sexy thing to whisper before going down on someone 

Sometimes, if they’re ever out in a gay bar/club together, Courfeyrac will turn to Enjolras and grin and say “Hey, do you wanna get lots of free drinks?” And they’ll go dance together. Well, if grinding against each other and making out can be considered dancing. They’re both super hot, so they both gather quite the audience and get lots of free drinks sent their way. It’s all fun and games until someone asks to have a threesome with them and they’re like hm it’s time to go home and maybe we can pick up pizza on the way and watch Sharknado and spoon

(bonus points if you can guess the member of les amis they have had a threesome with though).

They have the most amazing afterglow cuddles ever. They finish and clean up and just curl up close together and talk about their days and exchange lazy kisses. They don’t talk about classes or work or the ABC or anything that could stress them out- It’s their quiet time that they’ve carved out for the two of them, and they’re going to enjoy it. And then they fall asleep curled up together and Enjolras gets up early the next day and always makes sure there’s coffee in the pot for when Courf wakes.
