Darcy was barely thinking as she hurried to his car without even checking to see if he was following her, all she could focus on was her excitement and determination to prove to him that she was in fact telling the truth. "Yes, I am!" She insisted while climbing into his car. "I wouldn't lie about something like this." She added with a pout.

Alex didn't have time to respond when Darcy was suddenly out of her seat, grabbing her stuff, and rushing for the restaurant entrance. Pulling two hundred dollar bills from his wallet, he gave the receipt to the cashier and the money, told them to keep the change, and followed after Darcy. "Whoa, slow down, give me a chance to catch up," Alex said as he walked to his car, opened the passenger door for her, and then got in himself and made for the beach. "You're serious about this, aren't you?

"I know he won't." Sansa replied quietly, hugging her arms around herself. It wasn't herself she was scared for anymore, not when it felt as if she'd seen and felt it all while in her golden cage. She feared for Robb, she feared for her new sister-in-law, and she feared for Arya, whom they didn't even know where she'd fled to or if she were even alive. "But the Lannister's have no fear, have no morals. They have no honor." That was what scared her. She'd seen without a doubt the extent these Lions would go to, and she feared what they would do to her brother.
Tumblr media
"Your brother will not allow any harm to come to you." Talisa's arm twitched at her side, as if about to reach for Sansa's hand, but she thought better of it. She had been declared The Queen of the North, and now here they were in King's Landing, doing exactly as Robb had declared he would: save his sisters and remove the bastard King Joffrey from the throne. But it was all still so new to Talisa, so foreign. She had hardly been in Westeros more than a few months before this war began, and the customs, the tensions, were all so strange to her. Worse: it seemed one of Robb's sisters was missing, the youngest, and here was the other, Sansa, her family now now, her sister-in-law, but Talisa was entirely unsure how to speak to her. "It'll all be over soon," she assured her. "You will be back home, safe in your own bed, soon enough."

She could agree that their purposes seemed to align - for the most part. She wanted peace, she wanted everyone to be equal and for justice to be served with fire and blood upon the Lannisters. And while she did strive for the Iron Throne, it was hers by right. It was her family's by right and the Baratheon pig had stolen it from her, had wanted her killed for his fear of her. "That all sounds well and good," she began carefully. "however I intend to rule all of the seven kingdoms." Her head cocked to the side, her brows pulling together in confusion. "You would aid me in acquiring the throne, yet still refuse to bend the knee? Why?"
Tumblr media
"Peace," Robb replied simply. "All I have ever wanted, all I have fought for is peace. To free these lands from the tyranny of the Lannisters. If the stories are to be believed, you want the same. And you want the Iron Throne. I have no interest in sitting upon it. All I want is for the North to be free. So let us both get what we desire. My army will help you take King's Landing, and you will give up all rights to the North and allow me to rule my people as an independent kingdom."

BASED ON: n.eon g.ods by ka.tee r.obert. My muse has just found out her mother has made an agreement to marry her to the ‘King’ of the city, who has a reputation for being cruel and killing all his previous wives. Now quite literally running from that fate and away from the men sent after her to capture and bring her back, she runs into you - the ‘king’ of the Underworld, aka the ruler of the other end of the city that many believed was a myth. MUTUALS: Feel free to request another muse.
Everything BURNED. Her bare feet ached and burned with each frantic step she took in running as fast as she possibly could from the men who were gaining on her from behind ( and had she seen men running through the side streets out of the corner of her eyes, or had that been her imagination? ) and her palms stung from having to catch herself on the rough pavement, only to be dragged on said pavement when one of the men had caught her ankle, but a swift kick she’d aimed blindly had assisted her in getting away. And her lungs burned with each freezing intake of air she brought in as she ran, which was somehow never enough.
She just had to make it to the lower city! The bridge was so, so close! And then, she saw a figure standing on the other side of the bridge! But was that her imagination as well? Giving her something to push forward towards? “help me!” Esme cried desperately as she ran towards them, sobbing as her whole body ached but that was the least of her problems if the men behind her caught her and dragged her back. “Please! Help me!”

The only visible sign of his surprise is the slight cocking of his head to the side and an arched brow. Looking at the male in front of him now, Azazel did notice that something felt different, but just hadn't been able to put his finger on what. "You must have really pissed him off, then." Az drawled mildly, hands shoved into the pockets of his pants.
"Yeah, you keep saying that." He didn't necessarily wish to be feared anymore, not in the way he had in the past.
His next words have Azazel straightening up and visibly tensing, his eyes narrowed. "I see some still enjoy talking about me." He responds with instead, jaw ticking. He didn't like that, didn't like that that he was being made to seem weak, no matter how true it secretly was. His brothers may enjoy staying in their gilded cages, but Azazel had stayed on Earth specifically in search of the feeling of connection that humans did, yet never allowed himself to actually find it. "Sounds like you know the feeling fairly well, then." He finally says offhandedly.
"One of your brothers tossed me into a variation of the rebirth cycle where when I die, I am reborn with knowledge of who I was before. It's made me cocky. I don't fear death. I don't fear pain. I don't fear you."
Michael smirked.
"And I've played with fire before. I basked in those purifying flames as they devoured my flesh. I do not fear you."
The musician moved closer.
"So it's true then. The feeling of being alone is getting to you. I know it well. It's...the only true pain I feel."
Michael's eyes held sorrow.
"To be without a connection with another being. To be without someone by your side is the ultimate pain."

"I'm sure you have." Wanda answered dryly, barely suppressing the urge to roll her eyes. With a sigh, she stepped forward and took the cloth from his hands. "At least let me help you." She insisted gently.

"Yeah well, I've hard worse." He commented, and everyone knew it was true, sighing as he went to get himself a cloth to try and clean himself up. "No-one is as stubborn as Steve. I'm a close second."

Against her will, tears brimmed Demetria's eyes. Not completely for fear of what no doubt awaited her, but for the man in front of her. Aside from the woman who had found her as a babe left at the church and took her in, Dmitri was the only person she had. She, who was bitter and angry at the world and had absolutely nothing, had found a friend in her prince. And all she did, all she continued to do, was cause problems for him. No one had approved of their friendship, not really, but she could never really blame them for that. "You always fight for me." She murmured sadly, shaking her head at herself. Of course, the one time she could manage to finally do something for him in return, she ended up locked in a cell. Unable to look at him, she turned and settled herself on the dirty ground, pulling her knees up to her chest, and stared hard at the floor, rubbing angrily at her eyes. "No one else was there." She answered. Not that she had noticed, really. She'd been so consumed in finding his son that she hadn't paid any mind to her surroundings. "Whoever did it must have just left because he hadn't-" She stopped suddenly, afraid to cause him any distress. Because he hadn't fully drowned yet, she meant to say. He had come so very close to losing his son. "Maybe going back there will help." She offered quietly with a halfhearted shrug of her shoulders. She knew nothing about what was happening to her, knew nothing about what caused it or how to even control it, but if she hadn't been able to force it while sitting in the cell, maybe going to where she found the child would help?
Tumblr media
The very notion that she dared to place herself in a situation where she risked facing the gallows was enough to send Dmitri spiraling into a state of overwhelming anxiety and distress, consumed by the fear of what could befall her. Dmitri's frustration simmered beneath the surface as he tried to make sense of Demetria's cryptic admission. He struggled to contain his emotions, his hurt and confusion manifesting as a sharp edge to his words. His frustration threatened to boil over as he struggled to find a way to make her understand the consequences of her actions, even if she may have meant well all long. "I've been fighting tooth and nail to prove your innocence. I need something to work with, some shred of evidence that I can present to my family." He paced back and forth, his agitation palpable in the air. "I want to believe you, Demetria, I really do. But blind faith isn't going to cut it, not when your life is on the line." She cloaked her words in mystery, which he found irksome. "Maybe if we talk it through, something might come back to you. Did you see anything unusual in the woods? Maybe someone else was there with my son when you went to look?" He sighed, trying a different approach. He attempted to jog her memory, speculating that perhaps she glimpsed something amiss in the woods or encountered someone alongside his son.

She was left to wonder if the good intuition she'd always bore was a sign of something else. The ability to sense when an adult was coming or which path to take when they were children and sneaking out past their bedtimes, giggling away as they ran for the kitchens. Her intuition for sensing the motives of the other children who tried to befriend the young prince or even the adults who tried to shape him a certain way. She'd always just known, so what was so different now? The difference was that this time she'd been overtaken by whatever vision speared into her consciousness, transported to a time and place beyond her physical body, and the thought terrified her.
So if she'd seen a figure taking the baby to woods, why couldn't she have seen their face? "I don't-" she stumbled over her words, blinking rapidly. "I don't think I can." She finally admitted, staring fearfully at him. In her time alone in the cell, she'd tried and tried to force herself into another vision that would help them know who the culprit was, but was left with nothing. "I don't think that's how it works. I don't know how it works." She whispered, eyes downcast. She'd just indirectly admitted that it was far more than her gut that led her out into the woods, but it was the closest she could admit aloud to him what was happening to her. And if she did find out who it was, what then? There was a very likely chance they wouldn't believe her, and either way, they would surely hang her for witchcraft. She was now merely waiting while they dug her grave.
Tumblr media
His eyes drifted upward, meeting Demetria's weary gaze as she leaned against the iron bars of her cell. The sight of her, so fragile and defeated, struck him like a blow to the chest. It was as if all the strength drained from his body in an instant, leaving him feeling utterly powerless. Seeing her in such distress, unable to ease her suffering, tore at his soul, and he felt something deep within him fracture irreparably. Though her argument was compelling, he found himself lingering in a state of bewilderment, unable to reconcile her actions with the boundaries of her duties. She had articulated her desire to aid with sincerity, weaving a tapestry of reasoning that almost swayed his resolve. Yet, despite her earnest intentions, he couldn't shake the nagging question that danced at the edge of his consciousness: why venture beyond the castle walls in pursuit of his missing child? It wasn't her obligation, no matter how passionately she defended her choice. The conflict within him simmered, caught between acknowledging her good intentions and grappling with the perplexity of her actions. "Your gut." He repeated, a wry smile touching his lips as he couldn't help but find irony in the situation. Having spent his formative years surrounded by the wisdom and intuition of women, he knew all too well their inclination to heed that inner voice. It was ingrained in him, a lesson learned through countless interactions and observations. He understood the power of intuition, how it could guide one through uncertain times and lead to unexpected discoveries. He was certain that Demetria harbored no intentions of causing him harm. Yet, for the first time in what seemed like an eternity, despite the countless lessons and moments of sparring with his knights, he found himself experiencing a rare sense of vulnerability. "Can your gut find the person responsible for my son's disappearance?" It would be her only hope, and indirectly he was offering Demetria her way out.

"Don't you dare say that." Esme said firmly, voice hard and unlike any tone she'd used with him before. It was clear his words had angered her, and she so desperately wished to reach out and shake him for his stupidity. "Don't you ever say that again. I don't blame you, I never would have ever blamed you. It wasn't your fault, and don't you dare think that it should have been you." Realistically, Esme didn't know what she would have done if she were in his position, didn't know how she would handle the grief and guilt that would no doubt consume her.

Vergil looked at her hands. If only he could feel those hands again, then he would think the last two years had been nothing but a horrible nightmare, that she wasn't dead, but she was, and no amount of praying or wishing would change that. "You should," he said quietly after about a minute of thinking to himself. "If I hadn't gotten drunk that night, if we had just stayed at the hotel and waited for it to pass, you would still be here, alive; I only got to spend one day with you as my wife and widowed the very next day, it should've been me," Vergil said as he tears started to form in his eyes.

For a moment, Sansa was startled that he was able to see through her, but hadn't he always in some way? She didn't need to voice that she lay awake at night, unable to sleep as she thought about what could have been if she just hadn't been so naive. Maybe then, her whole family would be with her now.
"And is that truly what you want?" She couldn't help but ask, eyes soft as she gazed up at him, basking in the warmth of his hand on her shoulder. Truthfully, Sansa did want him at her side. She'd never felt safer than when he was with her, but she wouldn't subject him to being tied down to yet another master.
Sandor shook his head. “Pretty words, but I think you got it bad, just like I. Fretting hours away on what could have been, had we made different choices.” He grunted. “But at least you don’t have to do it alone anymore.”
He put a hand ever so gently on her shoulder. “I am your Hound now, Little Bird.” There was a slight hint of humour in his voice.

Demetria couldn't understand why everyone wouldn't just give her their gratitude and go about their lives. The only person who had genuinely thanked her without any probing questions had been Dmitri, but even the suspicions of others had gotten to him too. The only suspicious thing about the whole ordeal should have been that it hadn't been tasked to her to find the child, only the guard and the family had gone out in search of the babe. But she loved Dmitri, had loved him for a very long time now, and even if he wasn't hers to love, she'd wanted to aid in finding his child, but even she couldn't explain what had overcome her. One moment she'd been searching through the castle, the next she'd been gasping for air as suddenly her vision was overtaken by where the baby was located in the woods. She hadn't hesitated in taking off into a run. She'd had visions such as those before, inconsequential or even while she slept, but never one such as this. "I know you are." She whispered sorrowfully, leaning her head against the bars as she gazed at her closest friend. She wondered what his wife thought of him sparing her life when everyone else suspected of taking the baby had been interrogated and killed. It broke her heart to lie to him, to be unable to tell him that sometimes she saw visions of the past and future, or that odd things seemed to happen to her. She knew the others were right in accusing her of witchcraft, but it couldn't be possible.
"I don't know." She answered, desperately pleading with him to believe her. Because she didn't know! She didn't know what was happening to her, didn't know what it was she saw or how she saw it. "I just went out into the woods to look like everyone else did. Something in my gut told me to go by the stream." She'd always had good intuition, even he knew that. "I would never hurt your child." She added quietly, so quietly that only he would be able to hear her. "I would never do anything to hurt you."
Tumblr media
To assume Dmitri was tired would be an understatement. Each passing moment without news about his son's whereabouts slowly took years off his back. The only good thing in an otherwise loveless union had gone missing and his hands had been tied while his family chopped heads left and right, with no result. The only person who delivered had been Demetria, and their gratitude towards her for finding his son quickly took a grim turn. Everyone pointed their fingers at her, finding it rather suspicious that she out of everyone was able to find the child, and somehow his worn out mind entertained their ideas. He knew it wasn't fair, and he wanted to believe her, but he was too tired to fight anyone, and still to angry, mostly with himself, for his lack of care towards his kid. His foot kicked the ground assertively, avoiding Demetria's gaze as she pleaded him to believe her. He knew meeting her gaze would be a grave mistake. "I'm so fucking tired, Dee." Dmitri admitted through gritted teeth, a hand running over his sweaty face. He had his child back at the cost of the woman who held his heart imprisoned. When he thought he would finally rest, fate had another thing coming for him. The weight of suspicion hung thick in the air, suffocating their bond. "I want to believe you, I truly do." he began, his voice strained with the turmoil raging within him. He struggled to reconcile the image of Demetria with the accusations swirling around her. "Help me understand how were you able to find my son when everybody else failed."
