The Getting-back-into-wolfstar New Releases Rec List - Part 1
I’ve been pretty much out of the fandom/ship for the last 5 months or so, barring the occasional fest, but if I’ve learned anything over the years it’s that wolfstar is one of those ships that I’ll always return to.
When I finally started venturing back into the remus/sirius tag on Ao3, these were some of the fics that really stood out. Some are innocent little balls of fluff, some are scorching bits of smut, and some are goddamn beautiful pieces of writing. Enjoy. :)
Part 2 here.
There is a Light That Never Goes Out, by Bohemian_Anna
Non-magic!AU, Modern!AU / 7,296 words / Mature / fluff
Summary: Sirius’ breath puffed a warm tickle around his ear. “You’re gorgeous… I want to take you out, somewhere nice, away from Prongs and Evans. Can I?” Remus opened his mouth, but the yes he had intended instead came out, “Why?”
Lethe and Mnemosyne, by montparnasse
Post-Hogwarts/First War / 26,636 words / Explicit / haunting
Summary: Winter ‘79. Looking to get out from under the black-hole overhang of wartime, Sirius and Remus take off to play house on the Cornish moors. It goes downhill from there.
they walk in the dark, by watfordbird33
AU-ish? / 1,773 words / Teen
Summary: They walk in the dark, and they’re a joint silhouette. They wake the night. They’re loose jeans outlining hips, and razor eyes, and wands up sleeves like they’re invincible; they can’t be caught.
Accidental Voyeur, by puppylovele
MWPP / 5,341 words / Explicit
Summary: Sirius hadn’t meant to watch his friend masturbate but when the opportunity presented itself, well…
Texas Never Whispers, by fluorescentgrey
Band!AU, Non-magic!AU, Modern!AU / 14,030 words / Mature / drinking, drug use
Summary: Songwriting pair James Potter and Sirius Black are a skilled duo with mad charisma, the writer had expostulated, and their switching off guitar and drum duties builds a sense of camaraderie that put a smile on this writer’s face. But Marauders’ guitarist Remus Lupin (yes, I’ve been assured that is his real name) is the band’s most technically skilled musician — and their secret weapon.
The Truth in the Dare, by Marie_Tomas
MWPP / 4,599 words / Teen / fluff
Summary: Remus has no idea why the Gryffindors always dare Sirius to snog him every time James, Peter and Sirius play Truth or Dare. Yet for some reason, he can’t bring himself to complain about it.
Truth or Dare? by blaiddseren
MWPP / 1,607 words / Teen / first kiss, drinking
Summary: Remus, Sirius, an empty dorm and a bottle of firewhiskey, what could go wrong? - “Truth.” He chose again, because no matter how painful surrendering some of these answers was going to be it was still nothing compared to some of the dares he’d seen Sirius think up.
Virgins and Other Monsters, by KittyAugust (KittyAug)
MWPP / 2,757 words / Explicit / 7 minutes in heaven
Summary: Through cunning which would make his Slytherin ancestors proud, Sirius now finds himself locked in a cupboard with a very amenable and very kissable werewolf. Little does he know but they’re going to get up to a lot more than snogging if Remus has his way.
We dem bois, by Pavfoot
Texting!AU, Non-magic!AU, Modern!AU / 2,849 words / Teen
Summary: Moony: Who are dem bois?
srs: We Are All Dem Bois.
Moony: Sometimes it feels like we don’t even speak the same language.
The Other Side of the Wall (or Laundry Day is Every Day), by BluBerd
Post-Hogwarts / 10,222 words / Explicit / fluff and smut, flatmates
Summary: Sirius has never been the most moral of people, but he’s pretty sure that wanking off to the sounds of Remus having sex is crossing some sort of line.
