Minor correction on my part about wondering if the rumour survived to the present!

I didn't recognize this as the modern middle school uniform, we even see Nene and Aoi wearing the exact same uniform in older photos.

So yes, Tsukasa's rumour survived all the way up to the present! Hopefully we get to see Nene learning about it and utilizing it... maybe Tsukasa will even recognise her? Also it's worth mentioning that Tsukasa's name appears to only be censored in the past which is strange.

Or is it only censored to Yugi-sensei? Hmm..

Either way, I'm pumped to see where this arc goes!

Amane Started Tsukasa's Rumour

Maybe I am totally wrong on this, but this beginning scene of chapter 113 is so suspicious to me. Amane is smirking while hearing students calling out his dead brother's name in a silly ritual, you wouldn't be like that unless this is something you actually wanted. Not to mention: how would those girl's know Tsukasa's name unless someone close to him started the rumour? I think, potentially, Amane regained his memories of the other timeline. If Nene can remember entirely on her own (Teru gets a pass as a strong exorcist), then who's to say Amane didn't remember as well? An Amane who remembers would understand how powerful rumours were in the supernatural world... An Amane who remembers would do anything to be with his brother, even commit suicide. But if that no longer becomes an option due to the interference of the clock-keepers, the next best thing will be keeping Tsukasa around through the rumours at school.

After all, this is the same guy who is 100% on board for trapping loved ones.

Maybe this is why he's even a teacher in the first place, so he can still have a reason to be at that school long after graduation. So he could still be with Tsukasa.

And sure, I know this is stretching quite a bit and entirely banks on Amane remembering. Nene has been shown time and time again to be special, so maybe that's why she remembers, so perhaps it's not fair to hold Amane to the same standard. Which is why I have also considered it is potentially Sakura who is keeping Tsukasa's rumour alive.

She's the only one we actively see creating and manipulating rumours (aside from Nene) for her own benefit. She needs Tsukasa (who is the host for the old god) to grant her wish, and he can't do that if he's been disposed of in some manner by the clock-keepers. Perhaps she can't save him, but can preserve him through the rumours until the present day.

Or maybe there's some other explanation entirely for Tsukasa's rumour, I'm not sure but it's fun theorising! I wonder if the rumour survived to the present? What we're being shown was long before Nene was probably even born... Hmm...

Not a long analysis for this, but I just want to point out something interesting...

Those girls attempted to summon Tsukasa is classroom 2-2. It may seem random at first, but!!

Classroom 2-2 was also Amane's class when he was a second year student. His second year during middle school is also when the murder-suicide took place! And although this evidence isn't quite as strong since it's from the anime, the floorboards shown during the murder match the ones inside the classrooms.

Now I believe in coincidences, but showing classroom 2-2 during the beginning of chapter 113 just feels intentional to me. This particular classroom has significance, and not just because it used to be Amane's class.

No, I'm starting to believe this is where the murder-suicide took place.

My 2 Durges

Yin, the bloodthirsty killer who was all too eager to embrace her father's gifts.

Yang, the half-drow who's human side resisted the dark urges with all her might, even at the cost of her own life.

Born from the same flesh, but had such different outcomes in their journeys. It was so fun seeing all the differences between the 2 campaigns, I'm excited to at some point try a new campaign that has a mixture of being a killer and resisting. Maybe the next durge starts off resisting but slowly gives in to the urges or vice versa. I just love how much replay value this game has!

Playthrough number 5 is complete!

Here's some of the highlights from my latest playthrough as a half-drow durge, who resisted her murderous inheritance!

This was my first campaign to be played in tactician mode because I wanted the achievement, and while I admittedly did rage quit a couple times (auntie Ethel had me in a choke-hold for the longest time), I refused to lower the difficulty no matter what. It would've felt like cheating if I kept adjusting the difficulty, especially when I was doing this for the achievement.

This was also my first time romancing Gale and can I just say: how is he not more popular??? I mean he's such a sweetie pie! He's got so much love to give, even if you're a borderline psychopath who can barely contain her urge to kill. I'm excited to romance him again in the future and see alternative branches you can do with him.

Also also this was my first time playing a durge who resisted the urges, it was really interesting to see how the Temple of Bhaal played out when I wanted nothing to do with my "father." Ngl I did think for a second I fucked up before Withers deus ex machina me back to life lol. Must admit tho, it's very clear this is the intended path when you play durge, on my first run I embraced everything about being a bloodthirsty killer and I had almost no one left by the end apart from the more "evil aligned" characters. Overall I'd give this run a 9/10, it was... extremely challenging for me, but getting the achievement authentically at the end made it all worth it. Kinda wish we had a bit more consequence for resisting the urges (like the threat of killing our loved ones overnight, it would be cool if it happened more than once) but overall I enjoyed seeing how everything played out.
