I haven’t shown you guys my mini-me, lil’ Clare. She is a JLY (idk the number) I bought from shop Goodwill and rewigged, I curled her hair by putting it in curlers and dipping it in boiling water and then ice water. She looks just like me and I’m super proud of how smelly turned out!

Well, I just ordered Melody. I know I said 'no more dolls' but that was silly of me. I will order what I like! And I wanted beautiful Melody so much. I've adored the 1960s since I was 14 and I love that they made Melody Detroit-based, Motown loving and Civil Rights focused.

I wanted to find a great condition older Melody because I prefer the older Sonali molds. This BeForever NIB Melody cried out to me! I can't wait until she gets here. I shall spoil her.

And yeah, I'm not done buying dolls. I still really, really want a Caroline. I love Caroline so much. I'm holding out for a good one though. There are so many ratty Carolines out there with very unfair listing prices.

I'll probably be done after Caroline though...

New Year; Post Claudie.

Claudie was happy to receive Christmas goodies this December. She is wearing her handmade lace trimmed slip and a gingham skirt, plus the Maplelea cardigan, and the shoes from her traveling outfit.

According to her pamphlet, Claudie brings home a tin of cookies from Angelo’s Bakery every year. She even saves the smallest one for Dizzy Dot. Adorable. The yo-yo, then called a quiz, is gifted by Claudie’s cousin, Sidney, and the postcard is from her grandmother.

This is the illustration of Claudie looking into the store window, admiring the Velveteen Rabbit and hoping he will come home with her on Christmas morning. I cannot help but be charmed by the doll in the window. If we ever get a mini Claudie doll, I’d love to dress her like this doll.
