A small aside: she has an ancient silver dragon husband (she went deeply depressive after her very mortal 1st husband and two children died of old age in 800 years) and a "court" of powerful, ancient dragon friends. She's one of the few that actually gets along with the dragons and is respected by them. Some might say its her snobby and high class nature, maybe its the fact that she rules the plane of air so they can fly freely, she's very rich, saved the world, extremely powerful, loves the finer things, immortal...
but the real reason? She can turn into a weapon, making her a very rare (or to be more specific, legendary) magic item. Wonderful for hoarding
I keep forgetting to post my art here so here's one of them, we're doing a "World end" epilogue campaign for our world and my character, still alive and a couple hundred thousand years older than everyone (blame the astral sea) ate the light source of the light plane (she can eat magical objects and weapons that's her whole thing) and it destroyed her and rebuilt her with light. She's TOTALLY fine and didn't just witness her last wielder, best friend and previous source of the light plane get absolutely demolished by the 13th reincarnation of her best friend, right after the reincarnation killed her (took her about 6 tries because I kept getting downed and healed).

Hi I desperately want to learn pixel art to make my farmer portrait for talking in game, may I ask you for tips? I have a good skills for regular art but pixel art feels daunting.
I would say my first bit of advice is start on a small canvas, villager portraits are 64x64, a lot of new pixel artists (including myself) make the mistake of starting out on a biiiig canvas because that's what we're used to, and end up making more of a low res style of art rather than pixel art.
There's also a lot of value in taking really close looks at pixel art you want to emulate! Zooming in on it, seeing how many pixels their eyes usually consist of, positioning of facial features etc. etc. (I love looking at fire emblem and castlevania pixel art for inspiration) When you're first starting your piece, you can draw out the general shape and proportions of the face like you'd normally do when drawing. It gets funky when it comes to actually doing the details, like realizing a nose could consist of 7 pixels and not a single one more, or having a single, "loadbearing" pixel represent a hint of a smile (and without it, it totally looks like theyre frowning) thats when looking at how other pixel artists represent some facial features can be a helpful guide to understanding the "less is more" part of pixel art.
As for the farmer portrait specifically, I like to be super modular. The head, hair, body, mouth, eyes, all have their own layers so I can swap different eye and mouth expressions in and out easily! It's honestly a little addicting, like my own dressup game.
Pshhh what? I'm not abusing my artistic ability to mod my DnD character into Stardew Valley as a romanceable bachelorette with the intention of maybe putting in the rest of my party, pfft haha. There will probably be double the emotion portraits/sprites, seasonal sprites and portraits, her weapon form, maybe a hoouse...
(I'm probably going to open up Stardew NPC commissions because this is so fun and I think everyone deserves to have this kind of power trip because its so addicting)
