I know it's amazing how Gorgug got like seventeen crits in the new ep but we can't ignore when the purple worm was biting him and he rolled BOTH a nat 20 AND a nat 1
Thank god for advantage

this might be an unpopular opinion. iâve been seeing (and posting) a lot about buddy dawn since finishing the episode (which, expected! makes total sense given all of the everything about the end of the episode). but i think something important to keep in mind is that we shouldnât be treating him like a soft little cinnamon roll baby boy now just bc heâs dead.
the same exact thing happened with lucy frostblade and yolanda badgood. another blog on here (i canât find it at the moment, iâll tag them) made a post about this phenomenon and how it shows up in reality too, and itâs exactly what emily was referring to when she was saying (as wanda childa) that the complicated womenâs podcast episode about lucy was ânothing she could get her rocks off to.â
we start almost romanticizing these characters and people once theyâre gone, but they were complex individuals with full lives, with the capacity to be good and bad.
buddy dawnâs death doesnât negate the actions weâve seen him take in the show thus far. yes he was brought up in a highly restrictive environment and his beliefs have been shaped by his surroundings, and we canât fault him for that. he was just a transfer student in the wrong place at the wrong time. he was used as a pawn in kipperlillyâs game, and that should make us upset for his sake. but i donât think we should be waxing poetic about him just yet. right now heâs still just a cleric of helio who got fucked by his circumstances. we donât know anything else yet.
he did deserve better. weâre obviously allowed to feel upset or overwhelmed by what happened during the episode. but heâs probably going to get revived and weâll learn more next week. everybody pls calm down (iâm guilty as well iâm talking to myself too)

the scariest thing about old tv isnt really the racism or the sexisim because you kinda go in braced for that it's all the scenes where suddenly an actress is holding a lion cub or a chimpanzee is in the same room as a toddler, or suddenly theres a lion, or there's a chimpanzee again but it's driving a car, or holding a lighter, or holding fireworks. You just kind of watch in horror as over and over an actress performs with only 1960s tv film shootings best animal handling between her and the opening to Nope.

âaverage adventuring party kills two clerics a yearâ factoid actualy just statistical error. Average adventuring party kills 0 clerics per year. Spiders Ratgrinders, who hangout in the far haven woods & kills a whopping two clerics a year, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.

two clerics are dead. another one is murdered in front of you. despite being one of the greatest clerics of your age there is nothing you can do.
clerics are dying around her and there is nothing kristen can do

thinking about Buddy Dawn meeting helio in the afterlife. thinking about buddy dawn asking helio why betral happens. thinking about him (possibly) waking up to kristen, cleric of doubt and uncertainty, chosen of his god , who still doubted the church anyways, reviving him. Thinking about him waking up with the light of twilight and suddenly realizing that none of his frenids nor his god ever had his back.
suddenly realizing that bad things happen to good people. suddenly understanding that when you live your life with blind faith, your afterlife is disappointing, and your "frenids" slit your neck open.
Thinking about him going home to his (probably) ultra religious family knowing that helio did not save him or warn him about the knife at his neck, and maybe even resenting kristen a little bit becuse maybe the chosen one of the church would have been warned. asking himself for the first time why helio did what he did. wondering if this life was worth it.
maybe buddy dawn suddenly knows that this isn't the life he wants. Maybe it takes a whole ark for him to realize it. Maybe he takes revenge out on the rat grinders. maybe he takes his frustration out on helio. maybe he leaves helio for cassandra, letting himself revel in doubt and mistery, allowing him to question "why?" for the first time in his whole life. Maybe he leaves helio for ARNKANA, allowing himself justified rage, and getting the justice he feels he desrves.
god. fuck man. buddy dawn, i hope you find peace no matter what. and i hope you also meet your god and go, "He kinda sucks tbh" and you and kristen bond over that.

I still donât understand why after being made Kipperlily wouldnât just take her shot at Gavin. Like I cannot figure out how killing Buddy would have advantaged her more than Gavin. Like if she kills Gavin, sure the evidence of a crossbow bolt remains but like the Bad Kids automatically get a C even if they otherwise succeed. If Buddy dies and stays dead the Ratgrinders automatically go pass/fail and itâs possible that the bad kids manage to keep Gavin up through the whole fight and succeed. I guess she was hoping one of them would go down and not be able to be revivified? But like based on all the talk about Lucy in the preview and in previous episodes itâs possible to bring someone back post-revivification period with very powerful magic. What is her fucking deal
