It seems like one thing that a lot of people miss is that the council voting for peace was based on the deal Jayce made with Silco earlier in the episode. That deal required Silco to give up Jinx to Piltover, which he was never going to do.
Tumblr media
When Silco had that monologue at the statue, he wasn't really contemplating giving Jinx over. He was finally realizing why Vander lost his drive to fight for the Underground's independence at any cost. This is why he says "Oh, it all makes sense now, brother. Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?". Just like with Vander and Vi in Act 1, Silco was now put in a position where he had to give up his daughter for peace between the Underground and Topside. Peace was never going to happen to begin with because Silco would never be able to live with himself betraying Jinx after having had to experience being betrayed by his "brother" (Vander).

I think Jinx blowing up the council room was more to show her solidifying the fact that Powder is now gone, and that her and Vi are not on the same side of this conflict now that Vi has made friends with an Enforcer (Caitlyn), who she used to despise. Which is why before Jinx left she says 'you've changed too, so here's to the new us.

The beauty of that last scene is that in conventional shows, Vi's speech sounded like the breaking of a spell. Like if the hero was controlled by inner hate, someone would remind them of the people they love and it would get the hero to choose good over evil. But in this case, vi was just triggering jinx's trauma and making it so much worse, despite her intentions being to save Jinx.
It's fucking masterful writing

Ekko vs. Jinx was absolutely masterclass, such an immaculate display. The foreshadowing flashback with implication they shaped and mirrored each other in combat/tech ingenuity. Showing the routine reenactment of their formative days, as a means of Ekko reaching out. Brought on one of few comforts in Jinx's shattered memory. Imo, the glimpse they shared in the end signifies Jinx saw that Ekko still cares for her; the Powder within Jinx and possibly even who she became (reason for why her expression was solemn yet wistful as she pulled the pin). As he's all but certainly the only one who can empathize as well as fully comprehend the process that shaped her beyond the deaths of Mylo, Claggor, Benzo, Vander and the loss of Vi (he went through it all the same. Witnessing all the fallout firsthand alongside her). She's just too far gone. Their shared, ill-fated experience made them greater. Yet caused one to break; Jinx. As one harnessed it for the good of those around them; Ekko. Such a poetic tragedy.

If you're playing as Ekko and there's an opponent Jinx in proximity and you do the Taunt interaction, Ekko tells her "I used to have a crush on you, then you started talking to the guns"

The thing about the Jinx/Powder dynamic is that Vi considers it almost like an entirely separate identity and that Powder is 'still in there' and if Vi can reach the identity she can accept then everything will be ok. But that fails to appreciate trauma cant be undone. You can't just ask someone to revert back to who they were before they experienced trauma or who they were before they developed the mental issues Jinx clearly has. 'Powder' was Jinx's identity when she was like, 10ish and asking someone to act like they did when they were a child and before they experienced what Jinx has just because that's the version of her sister Vi can accept is never going to work. Ultimately Powder isn't a separate identity which can be reached out to, Powder is a memory. Vi being unable to realise that and meet her sister where she is rather than where she wished her sister was is going to be a problem.

I super appreciate that the relationship of vi and powder on the show is more nuanced in both its good and bad than all arcane’s promotional materials. After i saw the enemy music video and the lol world championship opening, i expected sisters that fight. And I had expected to see it in little things; for instance, when Mylo dissed Powder, I had expected Vi to side with him, but she never did; Or when vi and powder finally reunited in the blue flare reunion, i expected powder to do what the mv showed, looking conflictingly sad and happy, but then pushed vi away and tried to shoot her. I really appreciate the amount of good graces these sisters have, despite the unfavorable difficult circumstances. And I also appreciate the effort and care the writers took in showing us a wholesome relationship, unfortunately torn by tragic twists.
