People questioning Klaus's gloves/thinking they're bluescreen for CGI: if you look closer he's also got a mask around his neck. I'm PRETTY sure we're going to get a major thanatophobic Klaus this season as a result of him losing his immortality. I'm thinking obsessive germophobia and all round caution. He's even looking at that shot glass like he's worried about it.
If this turns out to be true, I'm genuinely excited. It'll be such a huge contrast to how he's been in previous seasons but it honestly makes sense given everything his character has been through.

Assuming there is a season 4 of the Umbrella Academy, here is what I think all the main characters’ arcs are going to be about:
- Lila and Diego: I’m assuming there will be a time jump between season 3 and 4, probably a few months. That means Lila will be near the end of her pregnancy or have a newborn baby, and their arc is going to revolve around them panicking over being parents.
- Luther: Searching for Sloane. Assuming she exists in this universe, I predict that he’ll find her but she won’t have any idea of who he is, and Luther will spend the first part of the season trying to rekindle their relationship.
- Allison: I’m assuming she’s trapped in some type of artificially made dimension? Kinda like WandaVision, where she’s living in a false reality to cope with her pain. Over time, I’m assuming Allison will become more and more dissatisfied by this false reality as she notices that Claire and Ray don’t act like real people but rather just do whatever makes Allison happy. I predict the rest of the Umbrella Academy will find a way to help Allison break out of this false world and rejoin them in the real one.
- Klaus: I think Klaus will have a really hard time coping with the fact that he’s no longer immortal. I think the fact that the Void was the only place where he didn’t feel like a freak or an outcast is going to impact him pretty heavily. In season 1, he used drugs in order to drown out the ghosts. In season 4, I think he’s going to be looking for a way to cope with the loneliness now that he can’t see the dead and the world still sees him as a outsider.
- Five: I think he will find that he really does depend on doomsdays and apocalypses to give his life purpose (as multiple people commented on in season 3). He will also find it extremely annoying trying to live his life while everyone perceives him as a teenager, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up staying with another member of the team just because he can’t get an apartment or housing while looking like a teenager (if this happens, I think he’s most likely to stay with Viktor). I think that Five will be the first person to become obsessed with getting their powers back, because Five needs something — ANYTHING — to focus on now that there is no doomsday.
- Ben: I think we will encounter both Sparrow Ben and Umbrella Ben in season 4 (since we saw a second Ben on a Korean train during the credits). I think Sparrow Ben will be focused on finding a new purpose and a new group of people to belong with. I have no idea what Umbrella Ben will be up to, but I imagine that Sparrow Ben will have an identity crisis upon meeting Umbrella Ben because he was compared so much to his counterpart in season 3. I hope Sparrow Ben spends time reflecting on his relationship with the rest of the Sparrows so we get more information on Marcus, Christopher, Fei, etc. Also, tell us what the Jennifer Incident is!!!!!
- Viktor: he will miss Allison the most out of everyone. I think Viktor will play a huge part in saving Allison from her false reality, and hopefully — HOPEFULLY — the two will have a proper conversation where they can sort out their differences. Even if things aren’t the same between them, I hope they can at least understand each other again. I think he will also have a moment where he’s like “man, I spent my whole childhood thinking I didn’t have powers, but then it turns out I did, but now I really don’t have powers!! I’m back to square one!!!”
It seems like the villain of the series is going to be their dad. I think all the main crew will realize that this new reality is very corrupt and strange because Hargreaves owns everything, and the siblings will have to unite once again in order to get their powers back and stop their dictator dad.

I'm so fucking soft for the Sparrows as monsters that you can all pry it out of my cold dead grip six feet under the fucking ground
Like with the Umbrellas, they were normal looking people. It's so easy to revere them as heroes, gods even.
But the Sparrows? The body horror of these siblings is so so fucking intense that I want to hold them and cherish them
The most notable is Alphonso, imagine looking like a normal person but as you grow up and go on more missions, your body is a punching bag that turns worse and worse and worse. Your flesh is falling off, your skin is sagging and it's getting harder and harder to move around because your very muscles are ruined from every kick, punch, and blow from the villains you fight off.
You tell yourself that you're lucky, you don't need good looks because you're hero, but you look in a mirror and can barely even recognize yourself anymore
Then, you have Fei. You have the power of being able to control crows and see what they see and hear what they hear, but at the cost of your own eyes being distorted and always having to hide them because they're just scars, your skin is uneven, you can't even blink like a normal person, so you hide them under shades and maybe get even misunderstood as being blind, or maybe without the birds she is blind and the idea of being the only disabled Sparrow member is horrifying in its own way. You fight your way to the top, but it's not good enough and your crows are your only real friends that can comfort you because they can't judge you for your eyes.
And then Ben, oh god, so normal looking, handsome even. But the idea of having monsters burrow and live inside your body is a different kind of horror itself. The fear of one day not being able to control them, the fear of being looked up as a monster as the ones you control because what is separating you from them? What is the difference of the horrors you control and yourself?
You may look human, but you don't feel human. The fear that people have of you will be forever, because how can you understand something that cannot be understood in the first place? It's an eldritch monster, it kills and it lives inside you. You can act like a hero and tell yourself that you're luckier because you have a pretty good looking darn face, but at the end of the day, you're a monster and are probably barely even human to begin with.
You're nothing without the horrors you control, but what's separating you from being the horror itself? How are you so sure that you aren't the horror? The monster?
AND CHRISTOPHER, DON'T GET ME FUCKING STARTED ON CHRISTOPHER. There's two options, you were born a fucking cube or you were made into a cube. I can't tell which is more horrifying. Imagine being the only one that's different from your siblings, you have no arms, no legs, heck you don't even have a face.
The only people who can ever understand you are your siblings and how lonely, you barely feel human at all.
You even question yourself if you're human at all. How can you feel human when you don't even look like one?
I'm so fucking soft and defensive for the Sparrows and maybe, Ben does belong to his family with the Umbrellas, that he will feel family with them, but understanding? The horror of feeling like you're not human? He will never know any other understanding of not feeling human and feeling more of a monster than he has with the Sparrow academy.
Fuck you all, I want my Sparrow babies to be fucking happy and this feelings of being a monster even when you are revered as a hero, a god even will never erase the fact that you might be a monster even through it.

Allison Hargreeves is being unfairly vilified?
Allison Hargreeves as in 'SA'd Luther' Allison Hargreeves? Allison Hargreeves as in 'confirmed Viktor's worst ongoing fears and anxieties just because Viktor was grieving his friend/stepson and it annoyed her' Allison Hargreeves? Allison Hargreeves 'contributed to the deaths of two of her siblings' Allison Hargreeves? Allison Hargreeves 'nothing anyone else has lost over the course of this nightmare matters as much as what I lost so I'm gonna fuck everything up potentially irreparably' Allison Hargreeves?
That Allison Hargreeves? I mean don't get me wrong I like her but she's very much a villain right now. She's an interesting villain, a compelling villain, a better villain than Reggie since we actually know wtf her problem is and we wish things hadn't turned out this way. But a villain all the same.
i don't think allison is a villain. at best, i'd say she's an antihero. at worst, she was a catalyst for viktor's arc in season three.
i would like to start by saying that i'm not defending allison's actions. i think what she did was wrong. however, i don't think she deserves all the hate that she's gotten. she's a character that is very morally gray, and people continue to paint her in solely black or white.
what i try to convey in this... very long post is that there's a reason for what allison does in season three. the question of if she’s a villain or not can be debated, but i believe that the reasons for her actions don’t make her a villain.
a big reason why the umbrella academy is such an incredible show is that all the umbrellas are flawed and nuanced, and despite it all they love. all of the umbrellas have their faults, and allison is no different.
in season three allison has lost all hope. she thinks she will never see her child again, her husband is dead, the world is ending, and to her it seems like her siblings don't give a shit. amidst all the chaos and the whirlwind of her life, she needs something that she's used to. something she knows how to navigate.
so she turns to luther. and she gets the comfort she's looking for but it's not right.
allison and luther's relationship is something that has been a topic of many debates in this fandom. i don't really want to get into it right now, but they've always been a person of comfort to each other. allison wants to feel loved and cared for, and she thinks she can get that comfort from luther.
allison is naturally selfish. she's used to getting what she wants. she's used to having the world at her fingertips. and yet almost everything she's held close to her heart has been ripped away from her. and she's never getting it back.
in season three she falls back onto her old habits, rumoring people left and right with no consideration for others. it makes sense because it's the only way she knows how to get what she wants.
and then she rumors luther. she doesn't want to lose him either, and she thinks that he's choosing sloane over her (which is true, but she thinks he's leaving forever. she thinks she'll lose him too). but she almost instantly realizes what she's done, almost instantly tries to take it away.
as for her relationship with viktor, that's another can of worms. in season one, allison is the only one really trying to mend that relationship with viktor. but it's a rocky road. allison snaps at viktor, viktor snaps at allison. these two have had tension from the very start. eventually, that bond had to snap.
at the start of season three, viktor is the only one that really tries to help allison. he stands up for her, and comforts her after she returns from la. but by episode three allison is so consumed by her grief that she's already clashing with viktor.
and when harlan makes an appearance, it just gets worse. harlan is like a son to viktor. someone viktor can care for. and when viktor turns that care and attention away from allison and instead towards harlan, it hurts. why is viktor allowed to have his child when allison will never get to see claire again?
in season three luther tells viktor that allison has “always been good to you (viktor)”. but there comes a point where your love and gratitude towards someone can morph into bitterness and hate.
the reason i say allison is a catalyst for viktor in season three is because the writers needed someone to contest his ideas. someone that will create a struggle for viktor that he will ultimately come out of with a new lesson learned. and allison is a great contender for that position. the show needs conflict in order to have an engaging story at all, and tense relationships between the siblings can be seen throughout all three seasons. (luther and diego in season one, ben and klaus in season two)
as for the deaths of her siblings, do you really think she wanted that to happen? she doesn’t want to lose any more people, that’s the main driver of her character shift in this season.
allison turns towards reginald because she sees it as the only option left. klaus does the same thing, so why is it any different when allison does it? she didn’t know her siblings would die in the process.
allison isn’t even the only sibling that has contributed to a sibling’s (almost) death. viktor slashes her throat in season one, ben sacrifices himself to save the world, and luther willingly walks into the room to talk to reginald. how is that allison’s fault?
i think this is also why five gives his talk to viktor, not allison. he understands what allison is going through on some level, understands the despair of losing those who are close to you. understands being willing to do anything to get them back. even though he quite loudly disagrees with allison making a deal with reginald, it's because he knows she's getting tricked. reginald never had their best interests at heart.
they’ve all lost people, and they all react to that loss in different ways. in season 1, when diego finds that patch was killed, he instantly wants to go for revenge. he plans on going after hazel and cha cha but five inevitably talks him out of it.
allison doesn’t have that influence. in fact, diego suggests to instead let that grief out through anger. i don’t think it was a very good solution in the end.
and despite all that, she wants to redeem herself. she tries to tell viktor the truth, she admits that she made the plan for all of them. she kills reginald and she’s the one that pushes the button at the end of season three. there’s so much left that we don’t know. did allison know what would happen when she pressed the button? did she know what reginald’s real plan was?
but in the end, allison is the reality of a person who has lost those who are closest to her. it’s probably the best job the writers have done while showing trauma and grief. i don’t think allison is a villain, and i think that accusing her of solely caring about herself is unfair.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

au where everything is the same but instead of losing their powers the umbrellas all get completely different powers like a day after they get to the rebooted universe. And these are the powers they would get
Luther: basically what Sean Spencer pretends to be
Diego: the ability to plant thoughts or emotions in someone else's brain
Allison: she actually still has the same power since she was the one to press the button
Klaus: the ability to transfer any inanimate object from where they are to where he is but only if nobody is holding it
Five: being aware of the fact that he's in a show but not being able to do anything about it other than looking at/talking to the audience without anyone noticing like in that show fleabag
Ben: having control over the weather
Viktor: the ability to freeze people in place like in freeze tag but only up to three at a time and it lasts ten minutes
Lila: can talk to animals and convince them to attack anyone to the best of their abilities, but only one species at a time
