Okay, but is nobody else gonna comment on how he, even with his limited knowledge, almost predicted Clow and also the two movies?

So I started watching Cardcaptor Sakura again and my husband was in the room with me. He came in on episode 2. I told him I’d turn it off but he said he wanted me to do whatever I wanted. At the end of episode 2, he says “I’m like half-paying attention.”

Episode 3: “What - Who the fuck is this guy? Yukito? Yukito is a fucking creep.”

Episode 4: “I know I’m ragging on it a lot, but don’t take that personally. Oh okay, the Wood card fucks.”

Episode 5: “What is that? A hot-pink rabbit mouse. It’s a Kaiju now? A Kaiju made of stuffies. Yessss.”

Episode 6: “This is the Illusion card, isn’t it. Ha! Called it. God, Yukito’s a creep. Wait, Sakura’s brother sees ghosts?”

Episode 7: “Why are they just hanging around when they know the guards’ schedules? This one’s the Silence card, calling it now.”

Snack break.

“Hey, monster-of-the-day is getting boring. There’s gotta be a big bad, right? I think there’s an evil, intelligent Clow Card pulling the strings. Also, they’re probably people who were imprisoned for their special powers.”

“I thought you weren’t into this.” - me

“It’s decent.”

Episode 8: “Ha! There’s the big bad. Oh my god this kid is shooting lasers at her. Wait, what just happened? ... Sakura’s brother is a Mary Sue. Ugh. Yukito’s being a fucking creep again.”

“Syaoran likes him, too.” - me

“Why??”

(I haven’t been giving him spoilers so “Yukito is a creep” is all we’re getting for now)

Episode 9: “So they’re gonna work together to find Clow Cards now, right? No? That’s stupid. Syaoran needs to get over himself. ... I mean, I guess it’s cool that he’s gay? But it’s still creepy.”

“Are you sure you don’t want me to turn this off?” - me

“Well, now you’ve got me invested.”

Akiho Shinomoto - a manifesto of love

Despite becoming one of my favorite characters in the whole Cardcaptor Sakura franchise (and I would’ve never expected to love a new character this much), I realized I’ve never spent a long post for her, like the ones I did for SyaoSaku or for Tomoyo and Syaoran long time ago.

And there’s a lot to say, because Akiho Shinomoto is actually the first character who has introduced the concepts of evil and child abuse in Cardcaptor Sakura.

Something that wasn’t even remotely conceivable until (almost) 5 years ago.

Often considered boring and weak from the CCS fandom, Akiho actually harbors an immense strength inside of her, which goes mostly unnoticed to everyone, in-story friends included. Let’s see why.
