Once upon a time, (2 months ago) I saw this post because I followed this great artist on IG for a totally different fandom. I remembered vaguely vash from my childhood/adolescence but I never read the manga or saw the anime. Found out stampede had come out, asked a friend if they knew trigun how it was etc and they were like “oh it’s great scarring at times but great” “scarring?” “Oh yeah, it’s the scene couch. All the fandom knows.” “O..Kay..”

Fast forward, I am now caught up with the entirety of the trigun content and I love it so much.

Translation student rant:

Apparently the eng dub translated Lu Guang with Lucas, and Cheng Xiaoshi with Charles.

Which, okay I guess they were trying to preserve the sound somewhat. But honestly, if you really HAVE to translate names, go with the meaning.

Xiaoshi means hour, Guang means light. This seems pretty relevant in a photographic themed time traveling story ?!

TLDR: eng dub missed the chance to named them Chrono and Lucifer that’s what I’m saying 😂
