LINDSAYâS BACK: Back To Me Review
The day has finally come. I never expected to see the day where I would be living in worldwide quarantine during my senior year of high school and Lindsay Lohan would put new music out, but here we are. There are no words to describe how excited I am that Lindsay is officially back to the music scene and its a complete serve. The teasers she was putting out were absolutely FLAWLESS. that tv teaser? ICONIC.Iâm sorry but the fact that she is on arguably the best record label, Republic Records, right now (some artists on the label are Drake, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, just to name a few), 12 years after her last song? Yeah, thatâs legendary love. Thatâs so huge because she couldâve totally done this independently and released whatever she wanted to but, her being on this huge label and putting in the work to make great music and great promotion, just shows how much she wants it and how much it means to her. If you guys havenât seen my previous postsâ I did one on the iconic Xanax, the song she teased for months that was never really released, well now, she is officially releasing it and it will have a music video. and so will Back to Me. Iâm sorry but WHOâS DOING IT LIKE HA????? This is literally a DREAM. I have loved Lindsay for my whole life really. I grew up with her just like so many other people. I remember watching Freaky Friday on my portable tv in my car with my dad, on my 13 hour family trips to South Carolina. I would worship her and the medley she sings in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, watching her on MTV, and so much more. I hate talking about it in past tense but, she was the girl. Nobody was touching Lindsay from 2003-2006. She was the it girl of all it girls. She could act and make hits, she was called the next Meryl Streep by A LOT of news outlets, she had two incredible albums that I am completely obsessed with and still listen to frequently, she was relatable and so much more. She got bad press because of her parents and the people she was surrounded by, she got into legal issues because of certain stuff and had a hard time from I would say, 2007-2013. It was hard to be a fan and watch her get in this trouble, then the media completely mutilate her and treat her like garbage. She was living her college years and just doing what everybody else was, just in front of the whole world. I think a lot about what wouldâve happened if those things would have never happened. Would she actually be the next Meryl? Would she be an Oscar nominee? Would she be an Oscar winner? I think about the success and heights her careers couldâve reached but I think that when literally for five years everything you do is a hit, you donât know how to act. Now to the present, this song is a complete summer bop and Lindsay is doing amazing. The lyrics are so poignant to her own life and the way sheâs been treated in the past. âI used to blame me, when shit got crazy. I canât think too much about what they say⌠I know I drink too much but, itâs okay⌠When life gets harder and the mind gets darker, remind myself âNever too lateâ. Sheâs grown so much and has pushed through to find true happiness and joy in her life. It really sucks how people donât recognize all the hard work she has done and how much progress sheâs made. She really left the industry and moved away and found herself. Sheâs healthy right now and in a great space and thatâs all we could want for a person. I hope this new music will get the mediaâs attention and show them how great sheâs doing and how we donât need to bully people in times of their suffering. I love you Lindsay and I will be listening to this song forever.Â
